Summary: Sandalphon, while (almost) having no idea how to do so, hosts a birthday party for his boyfriend. Does it go well? That's to be discovered





[ sandalphon's made the best arrangements he could, making it clear that the angel's put a lot of effort into this party, despite not understanding the custom like most do. the party is mostly held indoors to avoid the heat, but the outside gardens were decorated all the same to match corrin's general preferences. from string lights hung across both venues to the dinnerware almost being pulled out of a fantasy book, corrin's party was ready to begin.

the party's main attraction was corrin's cake, painstakingly baked and decorated for the birthday boy from his boyfriend. a whole day and a couple of burnt fingers later resulted in a stunning four tier cake with several edible flowers decorating the sides. the surrounding area was meant to be an area for guests to leave any gifts they had brought for corrin, but they were also free to simply give the gift directly to him instead.

the buffet table was littered with finger food, with small plates available to the side for the partygoer to load up as much as they can. the table also has entrees for those whose appetites lean on the bigger side, if they do not wish to indulge on the snacks. the beverage station was filled with icy cold drinks as well, but there was an odd addition for such a summery themed party: coffee. if asked, sandalphon will easily whip up a fresh cup of coffee; hot, iced, and everything in between.

off to the side, there was a pokemon play area: for those who couldn't dare leave their pokemon at home, they are free to find themselves playing with sandalphon's pokemon, who are more than gleeful to bring joy to any new possible friends. the area was a vast field surrounded by plants and flowers, with a large shade tree providing solace from the fiery sun. water pokemon even have a pool available to them to enjoy.

all in all, it's time to wish corrin a happy birthday! ]

[It wouldn't be like Radley to ignore an open invitation to a party. He tries to reach out to all the displaced people. He arrives on his bicycle with six Pokemon. Evie sees the play area and makes a beeline for it, warbling in joy. Four others follow her, but Cosmo the Ralts still clings to Radley as he gets off the bike.]

You don't wanna join them? It looks fun.

[Cosmo mumbles and just hugs Radley around the neck. He pats her hands and turns to the cake.]

Wow, this is impressive work! It looks professional.

[He sets his gift in the surrounding area.]

Thank you. It's taken a lot of work.

[ sandalphon did do his best to make sure it was up to corrin's standard, so of course he ran himself ragged doing so. did he care that he might be exhausted until later? nope. ]

I can imagine! You could open a catering business if you felt like it.

[Cosmo shifts a bit to look up at everything, but stays clinging to Radley's neck.]

I hope it's okay if Cosmo doesn't go to the play area. She doesn't wanna leave me, but she won't be any trouble.

The idea's festered in my mind, but I much prefer handling coffee than cake. [ he's being honest!! cake can be a bit much, sandalphon says. ]

I don't mind, as long as she behaves as you said she would. [ the look in his eye says if this party is ruined in any way i will rain hell., however. ]

[Radley nods.]

Well, maybe you'd rather open a coffee shop then?

[Cosmo shakes her head and hugs Radley.]

She'll just stay right with me, I promise. She barely leaves my side at home, and she just clings to me when we're out.

That is what I intend to do, yes.

[ it was the only goal that mattered, given that his gym challenge was slowly making progress. that, and he and corrin had thought many a thought through.

radley's comment appeases the angel enough to calm down. cosmo looks the shy type, after all. ]

Cool. That should be fun for you.

[Cosmo definitely is.]

I'm hoping to help her feel more comfortable around people, but that could take a long time. That's okay, though. I'll be here for her.

It will be-- I don't want people telling me coffee is too bitter for them anyways.

[ his boyfriend is one of them, but he'll get him to change his mind soon enough... even if it means ruining perfectly good coffee with a ton of sugar. ]

You're kind to your pokemon. [ just an observation. ]

[Radley chuckles.]

You'll probably have a lot of people who want to mix various things with it.

[He pats Cosmo's hands.]

I always try to be. They're what I love most in this place. I still wish I could take them with me if I go back. I want all of my loved ones in one place.

Don't remind me. [ please, don't.

but all your loved ones in one place.... ] That's a nice sentiment. Had I the ability, I would've done the same.

Ask the gods. Maybe they'll listen to you, if they care.

[ at the second statement, sandalphon has to refrain from screaming profanities at the man as to not startle both the party guests and the recipient. really? at his boyfriend's party? even if he can't use his words, the glare he gave him definitely says enough: "drop the subject now, or you're dead." ]

That kind of topic is inappropriate for a party.

[Radley nods, chagrined. He hadn't wanted to ask when Sandalphon was in an obvious bad mood already, or to just spring it on him not knowing what kind of mood he would be in beforehand, but he also hadn't realized the question alone could cause a bad mood to form. Clearly it was an extremely touchy subject on its own, and that meant he was unlikely to bring it up again at any point. Maybe he would rather not know what it was like to go back anyway. It must not be pleasant, just as he feared.]

[Cosmo clings even tighter to Radley's neck, as if now fearing whether he would be harmed for daring to ask.]
