Week 1

Arrival

Waking up suddenly in a strange new world was both disorienting and concerning. Doing it twice in as many weeks is just downright annoying.

Loki is sitting on a log on the outskirts of the camp, glaring daggers at the woman who apparently brought them all here. He is completely still save for his left hand picking at the palm of his right. Violence outside of pokemon battle seems to be completely foreign to this world, but the look in his eye says he would very much like to introduce it in his moment.

He speaks when approached, though his murderous focus stays on the 'scientist.'

"Has anyone found a way to contact our proper time? Outside of this woman's ravings, that is."

Patrol

The night is peaceful here as Loki makes his way through the underbrush with his new friend. Both him and his pokemon move quietly, barely disturbing a leaf or twig as they do.

This, of course, makes for prime shenanigans. If you happen to find yourself out this late, you may feel the faint scratch of something at your back...Turning will reveal Loki in his new clothes wearing a scary looking mask he probably made out of some fallen tree bark.

"Boo."

The mere sensation of something behind him is enough to get him on edge, but turning around to find a figure snarling at him, its features obscured by the dark, has Doppio yelping and stumbling backwards, nearly falling flat on his ass.

Someone was clearly not ready for shenanigans.

"... H-Huh? Who's there?"

[cuttingremark]

Loki had expected people to see his rather shoddy looking mask and immediately know it was a joke. Still, he's nothing if not quick to improvise.

"The spirit of the forest!" His voice comes out a raspy baritone. "Who intrudes in my domain?"

[epitaffio]

That's the thing. As soon as Doppio realised the person behind was human-shaped, he did assume that's who he was talking to. It's just that, for whatever reason (anxiety. It's anxiety. He is a jumpy boy), he isn't making the short leap from there to "joke."

... Though he's starting to get an inkling. He squints.

"You don't look like a Pokémon..."

[cuttingremark]

"Not all spirits have to be pokemon!" His voice is loosing a bit of it's 'spookiness.'

[epitaffio]

... Yup, getting more suspicious by the second.

"So what kind of spirit are you?"

[cuttingremark]

"I already- I'm a forest spirit!" Red whisps of smoke dance behind Loki, courtesy of Hekkar the Zorua who is tucked behind his legs.

[epitaffio]

"Why would a forest spirit look like--"

Wherever he was going with that thought, he doesn't get to finish it, because the sight of the smoke makes him gasp and reach for his Pokéball.

[cuttingremark]

Loki is about to give up, the pedantic questioning sucking all the fun out of this, when his wonderful little friend adds just the right amount of ambiance to sell it.

"Spirits can look like whatever we choose!" Spooky forest spirit voice firmly back in place.
Now tell me what business you have in this forest!"

[epitaffio]

The smoke... does not appear to be an attack. At least not immediately. Doppio still isn't sure if he's in danger or just being played for a fool, but he's not letting go of his Pokéball yet.

"Um... I'm here with all the other people from the future?"

Maybe this is a forest spirit who isn't aware of what happened. Maybe this is a local who thinks they're funny and also isn't aware of what happened. Who knows?

[cuttingremark]

"Oh, so you think that just because you're from the future, you can just go trapsing around my forest?"

[epitaffio]

"That's not what I said at all! Why are you taking this up with me, anyway?"

Probably because Doppio keeps indulging him. Here's hoping he realises it soon.
