New Bark Town Mingle Log

There was some interest expressed in doing a New Bark Town mingle log, so I'm throwing this up here for anyone who wants to do it:

Who: Anyone who wants to!

Where: Mom's House, New Bark Town

When: August 14th

Summary: There is a huge group at Mom's! What are they doing?

Radley looks up from reuniting with most of his Pokemon to see that everyone else is doing the same ... mostly. Although there are some very strange things going on. It sounds like someone is in the closet. Someone else is yelling for help getting off the ... fridge? And it's wall to wall people everywhere.

"Oh boy...."

He gets up and looks for both a way out of here and a path to whoever needs help. His Pokemon warble and follow him, or rather, all he can't carry follows him. Cosmo the Ralts stays clinging to his neck. She was already extremely shy and reluctant to let go of Radley before all this happened. She may never let go of him now....

Marik laughs as well. Kaiba's a Saint for dealing with his moody teenager goop dragon. Now that he thinks about it, Usi's changed too... more mischievous. It sort of fits with his appearance though. Hmm. Do Yamask have an evolved form? ... Can he stop the evolution? He'll have to look in to that later.

The blonde smiles, finding the other teen's indirect answer endearing. He would have raced ahead just to meet up with him... It's... strange... realizing he has a friend. Maybe even a best friend at this point?

He reaches down to pet King. "Huh... I don't think I have... an umbrella. And I don't think there's a proper shop in town so we'll need to wait until we reach Cherrygrove next. I've got a leather jacket if you'd rather not get completely soaked when it rains."

Kaiba just smirks and shakes his head. "After the last month...I'll manage, I guess. Dry off in between spouts of rain. It'll be easier if I wear this, though."

He digs in his bag and fishes out the new clothes he's been assigned---a soccer uniform. He'll just make sure to stop inside somewhere and change before they leave.

"Usi's so big. He almost looks big enough to carry you," Kaiba snickers.

Marik grins. Their first meeting here was pretty fun. Even if it did ruin his makeup. "That's fair," he looks over at the clothes. "Hm. I wonder what determines what outfit we- You know what, no. I'm not going to bother with that."

Considering how Cara managed to piss off what he assumed was a God, he's eager to drop the subject. Instead he looks over at Usi.

"Huh. You think...? Can you carry me, Usi?"

The Haunter taps his chin in thought then holds out his hands.

Marik makes a face. "No, no. Not in your... arms? On your back. Like how Chen was riding you earlier."

Ohhh. That makes more sense. Usi turns around and lowers himself a bit for his trainer to try. Guess he'll need to keep himself solid for this to work though. Unless he's feeling cheeky. The blonde approaches and slowly attempts to climb onto his back, holding on to the two lowers spikes beneath his... ears?

It's... awkward but it works. Marik opts for standing up and leaning over the top of Usi's head, Chenzira now leaning against the top of Marik's. Then he looks to Kaiba.

"How ridiculous do I look?"

Kaiba watches this with some amusement. Usi is quite big, but...is he going to cooperate? Will this work?

Somehow, it does! Kaiba smirks and gives them a thumbs up.

"Hey, if it fits..."

He reaches up to pat Zephyra, who's definitely ready to run! She neighs impatiently at him, and...well, he's not ready to set off just yet.

"We might be able to cover some terrain a little easier this way. What are the first few routes like?"

If it weren't for the Yamask on his trainer's head, Usi would have turned gaseous but he isn't going to be mean to baby brother. Marik climbs off in the mean time. That's going to take some getting used to...

He chuckles at Zephyra's display, glad to see she's up to the trip.

"From here to Cherrygrove is pretty easy. It took me right about three and a half days on foot. It's not that it's complicated.. just... long. If we're riding though, I can only imagine how much time that will cut off. That'll be nice," Marik says, Chenzira looking around from his spot on top of his head. He's so high up!

"Whenever you're ready to head out, just let me know. There's no rush though. Huh... That reminds me... have you gotten your pokegear yet?"

Kaiba nods, giving Zephyra a pat. She's ready to go, and he's glad...he just needs to take care of himself first.

"I'm not fighting that crowd for the amenities. Just give me a few moments."

And he'll...duck into some tree cover to get changed, looking more comfortable in the lighter uniform. Mizuchi's tail is now wrapped around his arm, and King rolls up to headbutt his leg.

"...one more question. I heard there's shopping in the next town, but how do people usually make money?"

"A fair point. I'm sure everyone's rushing to get back on the road," he looks out at the horde of people and also gives Kaiba some privacy to change. New Bark Town looks strange with so much life in it... but it's nice to everyone so happy and reunited with their pokémon.

Once he comes back, Marik turns to face him.

"Battling mostly. I know some trainers have started businesses but most of those are in the actual towns and cities instead of on the road. You're... going to be over qualified for the trainers along these next few routes, that's for sure."

Kaiba glances at Mizuchi and gently strokes her head. She's so small...like King was, at first. They have a lot of training to do together.

"...Mizuchi can train if she wants. I'll let her try, with the others as backup. But...hm, I should probably catch another. What should I look for?"

The blonde offers a sheepish grin.

"I... really couldn't tell you. I've only caught... three pokémon myself. You saw two of those. My first landed on my head by accident."

That was startling for both himself and Layla the Spinarak.

"I've taken a liking and interest to ghost types. I'm going to assume you want dragon types but those are kind of rare... hmm..." He looks to Mizuchi to King then to Zephyra.

"Maybe see what the breeders have on the market? I got mine from a girl named Hermione. She's got a pretty big selection. Because the pokémon around here are... simple. I never saw anything that interested me."
