Um... how do you stay um... calm when you're battling? With Pokemon, I mean...

[ It's a big question for her right now. ]

Ah- there are a few ways. When I go into a battle I try to have a plan. It helps me feel more confident. Even if things stray from the plan, having something to fall back on helps

I also trust my Pokemon. We work as a team, and I try to give them commands that make sense to how things are going. I take queues from my Pokemon and sometimes allow them to make their own decisions for what they think is best.

Most of all though I remember that battles are supposed to be fun. Fun for everyone involved. Win or lose, we always have a treat after a hard battle regardless of the outcome.

[ Not entirely, especially since trying to come up with one plan is already hard enough, but... ]

Was it hard at first, though...?

It was yes. I would get very worried or nervous- but with practice, bit by bit, it got easier and easier.

[ She may have been hoping for a magical solution to suddenly gaining personal experience, enough so that she can feel like the kind of trainer her Pokemon deserve, but... deep down, she probably already knew that it was ultimately going to come back to this. ]
