Hello. [Luna smiled at the camera.] My name is Luna.

Has everyone received one of these? [She held up the lovely decorated invitation to the Halloween contest.] I was curious if anyone has done of these before. It looks like wonderful fun.

I was thinking of attending, but I'm having a bit of trouble deciding on a story to tell. Would anyone be willing to listen to a few of my ideas and give me some feedback?

I love dressing up, too, so I'm quite excited to create my costume depending on which story I pick. Though, I've never made a costume in the muggle way before. Would anyone have tips on how to make one?

Really? How do witches and wizards use magic to knit? [ Although without magic here, she might not really be able to explain. ]

Hmm...maybe one of the more beastly-looking Pokemon? What Pokemon do you have?

Oh, we enchant the needles, of course! [Luna made it sound like it was nothing at all to do something like that.] We use a spell to make sure the needles know what to do, and then let them do their task while we go do something else. It's quite convenient!

Right now, I have a Spinda, a Skitty, a Slowpoke, and a Bunnelby. Though, I think there's been a Rattata following me around lately. Like it wants to stay with me.

Oh I see, that really is convenient! So do you have to use that magic each time for a separate pattern, or do you just enchant the needles once?

Aww, it's possible! Some Pokemon do just want to find someone who will care for them.

[looneylovegood]

[Luna seemed to think about it for a moment.] A little of both, I think. See, we use the same actual spell... which is to make an inanimate object move on it's own. And we use that spell each time we do it. However, when casting the spell you focus on the pattern you'd like to create, or, whatever it is you'd like that object to do... like making a broom sweep or a rag wash dishes. So, in a way, it's a little different each time depending on what it is you're doing exactly.

[Luna smiled at that idea, too.] Everyone deserves to have someone who will care about them. Pokémon, too. They remind me of some of the creatures from back home. I've always enjoyed magizoology and interacting with animals. They seem to be kinder than people sometimes, and much less judgmental of who we are.

Oh I see! So even if they're already animated, it's kind of like you still have to instruct the object what to do. That's really interesting.

[ With a bright smile, Fluttershy nods. ] Oh yes, I think so too! Everyone deserves a little kindness, and Pokemon are no exception. I really like interacting with animals back home too, and I agree, they're easier to talk to than people at times.

[looneylovegood]

[Luna nodded.] Yes, that's exactly it.

[She chuckled slightly.] It seems we have something in common, then. [That was a nice feeling.] I ended up arriving here with a breeding class instead of a trainer class. Are you a breeder as well?

[shiningkindness]

I am, yes. I haven't really done much to breed Pokemon, though. I really like taking care of Pokemon more than trying to make eggs.

Not that there's anything really wrong with that! It's just not for me, I think.

[looneylovegood]

[Luna nodded.]

I can understand that. I at least would like to give it a try, but I had been working towards being a magizoologist back home. So, I was definitely looking more towards the care of Pokémon myself.

[shiningkindness]

Magizoologist? [ She recognizes zoologist, at least, and Luna had used a similar word before, but the word still has her a bit curious. ] Is that studying magical creatures specifically?

[looneylovegood]

It is. [Luna looked quite pleased that someone would recognize such a word.] Do you have magical creatures where you're from?

[shiningkindness]

[ She shakes her head a little. ] Oh no, not really where I'm from. But I know about zoology, and I have some friends from another world who study magic, so I just...took a guess.

[looneylovegood]

Oh! [Luna nodded.] That makes sense. There are two other people here from my own world, and I've discovered a few others from worlds where people are capable of magic as well. We don't have to keep it secret here, which is a nice change.

[shiningkindness]

Mm-hmm. There are a lot of people from different worlds, and it's kind of fun to learn about what it's like for other people where they're from.

But why did you have to keep your magic a secret?

[looneylovegood]

Oh, well, muggles- [She caught herself.] non-magical people don't really understand us. There have been a lot of troubles in the past where witches and wizards were persecuted for their magic. So, we learned how to hide among them and still live our lives.

[shiningkindness]

Oh gosh. That must be so difficult. I'm sorry you have to hide yourselves like that.

[looneylovegood]

We have quite a robust life even with hiding. There are spells and incantations we can use to keep things secret, and the muggles barely know we're there. It's like living in two separate worlds that just happen to overlap. I, for one, don't feel like I'm really hiding all that much.

But it is something we need to remember to be careful about during the times that we do interact with people who aren't witches or wizards. There are plenty of witches and wizards that come with families that have no magical history at all, and that can be quite jarring for them and their immediate families. And it's always hard for them to make sure to keep things secret.

I see. That's good that you're still able to live well even if you have to hide. But I bet it can be very surprising for those families who suddenly learn about magic. Has there ever been any problems with magic accidentally becoming exposed?

[looneylovegood]

Oh, yes. All the time. It's one of the reasons we have memory spells. That way, we can take away or alter those memories and the muggles won't remember what happened. [Morality issues? What morality issues?]
