Hello. [Luna smiled at the camera.] My name is Luna.
Has everyone received one of these? [She held up the lovely decorated invitation to the Halloween contest.] I was curious if anyone has done of these before. It looks like wonderful fun.
I was thinking of attending, but I'm having a bit of trouble deciding on a story to tell. Would anyone be willing to listen to a few of my ideas and give me some feedback?
I love dressing up, too, so I'm quite excited to create my costume depending on which story I pick. Though, I've never made a costume in the muggle way before. Would anyone have tips on how to make one?

So... a needle and thread. Yes. I've heard of those. I've never actually used one without magic before, though. I'd like to learn.

Do you want to play out him coming or end it here?
I'm good with handwaving it ^_^

(Violet, who is a few moments ago did evolve into Espeon, could seen relaxing on his lap after the whole team had a long practice session. The willowy tail of hers swishes elegantly as she cranes her head to see the blond Ravenclaw better while Harry brought out the invitation as proof.)
While I can’t join the story telling this year, I’m always here to listen to whatever ideas you have at the moment. Maybe there is one you’ll get to use for the Halloween party.

[She smiled at seeing his invitation, as well as his Espeon.]
So, you won't be joining the contest, then?

(Violet happily warbles in greeting Luna. Her red gem on her forehead shines brilliantly against the light. And he is still trying to get Sirius the Houndoom to behave himself and not be a pain to train with.)

I thought it was just Ghost and Dark type moves. But, if they can learn other moves, then Ghost and Dark type Pokémon should be fine, yes?

[Min waves with a small smile.]
I think I'll probably just be watching the contest, so if you want someone impartial I'd be happy to listen to your ideas.
[He doubts he'd be much help with costume making, muggle (whatever that is) or otherwise.]

Oh, I do appreciate that a lot.
See, I'm from the UK back home, and I know a lot of spooky types of stories from there, but, in a lot of cases, they might not even be familiar to most people where I'm from. So, I'm a bit worried about using something that people might not understand.

Wouldn't that make it more interesting? It's fun learning new stories, right?

I was thinking of a children's story from home called "The Warlock's Hairy Heart". It's rather dark, which I think is suitable for a contest like this. But it also has a very good lesson to it.
There was a warlock who doesn't want to fall in love, so he use the Dark Arts to remove his heart and seal it away. However, as time goes on, he begins to hear people whispering behind his back about how he is unmarried. So, he goes out to meet someone who he thinks will make everyone envious of his marriage. He finds her, and then tries to get her to marry him. She wants to see proof of his heart, and he shows her where he has it sealed away. She begs him to put his heart back into his body so they can fall in love, and he decides to do it. But, because his heart at this point has been outside his body for so long, it has become very beast-like. And, when he puts it back into his chest, he becomes a beast. Desperate for a human heart, he reacts on beastly instinct to cut hers out of her instead, and then cuts his own heart out to replace it with hers. But, because he was a beast, he doesn't do it properly this time, and they both die.

I did get one of those invitations too, though I don't think I'll be participating. I'll go to watch others who are performing, though. There was a contest a while back, a few months after I arrived, and it looked like a lot of fun.
I'm not really good with scary stories, but I wouldn't mind listening if you had some ideas. And I know a bit how to sew and knit, but I'm not sure that'd be good enough to help with costume making.
Re: [Video]
Participating is definitely not something for everyone, but I'm sure being there to support any of your friends who might be would be a very nice thing. Plus, just watching the performances themselves can be fun, so I'm sure that will be just as much fun, too.
I'll be learning to sew without magic for the first time here, so I'm actually quite excited. Even if it's not something to use for this contest, I'd still be interested in learning to knit, too, if you wouldn't mind showing me. I could make scarves and sweaters for my Pokémon. [Which did sound like a lot of fun to Luna.]
There's this one scary story from home called "The Warlock's Hairy Heart" about a warlock who tried to avoid falling in love, but still wanted to get married for status. But, when he tried to seal his heart away with Dark Arts, it became a beast heart and possessed him, making him kill the girl he wanted to marry in an attempt to steal her heart instead. It's quite dark, but they did ask for scary stories.

Oh yes, I would be too scared to be up on stage with so many people watching me. But some of my friends participated last time, and if they plan to this time then I'm happy to watch and support them. And the stories that people can tell are really fascinating!
I'd be happy to teach you how to knit! I love making accessories for my Pokemon too. [ Especially now that it's getting colder, she'll need to make sure they have things to keep warm. ] And good luck with learning to sew too!
Goodness, that does sound like a creepy story. I think it would work pretty well for the theme. Which Pokemon might you use to tell it?
no subject
Thank you so much. I know a lot of witches and wizards back home who like to knit, but we've always done it using magic. Learning these things without magic will be a new experience for me, but I'm excited to learn.
I was thinking of using something with a lot of fur to represent the corrupted heart. Maybe like a Swinub. And then the lovely woman would be something a bit more traditional in regards to being a "pretty" Pokemon, perhaps a Lopunny or a Lilligant. I still haven't figured out what to use for the selfish Warlock.

I used to go trick or treating with my parents before Hogwarts, so we can go to a couple craft and material places to get props and things for costumes? I know of a few good ones, particularly in Goldenrod.
no subject
That sounds perfect. [Shopping sounded fun!] I would love to meet up with you for that.

The Warlock's Hairy Heart? That's ... not what I expected, although it certainly fits the theme. Is there a reason? [Hermione is genuinely curious about Luna's thought process on this one.]
Do you know which pokemon you're going to use?
I can't remember whether I've ever told you about the famous muggle poet Edgar Allen Poe? He's widely known for his mysterious or grim and ghastly poems. One of his best known poems is called The Raven - that's the one I'm thinking of performing. Actually, I'd be curious to get your insights on his poetry sometime.
I'm free in a couple days time - do you need me to come pick you up? I've got more than one flying Pokemon if needed.

[Lune didn't mind being conidered 'weird', even among witches and wizards. She being her true self, and that was the most important.]
I hadn't decided on Pokémon, yet. I've been making new friends with some as I've been traveling. So far, the Skitty I was given by that kind lady in New Bark Town seems to be the most interested in performing.
[Luna looked very interested as Hermione talked about the poet.]
Oh, he sounds very intriguing. I don't think I've heard of him, yet. [She'd likely remember if she had.] Do you have a dark bird-looking type of Pokémon to use? Perhaps like a Murkrow, or a Corviknight.
I don't have any flying types, yet, so that would be helpful, actually.
Sorry for the delay!
