[[Hey folks. I wanted to preface this by notifying you that this post is supposed to go out to those individuals who play/participate in the Yu-Gi-Oh game of Duel Monsters. If you're character is from a Yu-Gi-Oh series then (obviously) you're likely familiar with it but, if your character has learned of while here in Victory Road, then that could work as well. Either way though, this is supposed to be a gathering for the cardsharks to be able to engage their favorite game so please bear that in mind.]]

[The feed boots up from what appears to be the booth of a fast-food restaurant. Red-and-white decor and wide windows can be seen all around, as well as the beeps and boops of the checkout counter, but an excited blonde youth occupies the center of the broadcast.]

Hey der duelists! Joey Wheeler comin' to ya live from Goldenrod again! I just got back from finishin' da tour'a Johto so it's time ta kick back and enjoy da holidays! Every time Christmas rolls around I always get da pahty bucket from da local chicken joint n' gatha' round with my friends, so imagine my surprise when I find out dey got pretty much da same place here in da Pokémon world!

[Joey pans the camera around the restaurant lobby.]

So, I got an invitation to all my fellow duelists: Seems der's a pretty good chunka people who play Duel Monstahs in dis world, so I figured it'd be a good time if we all got togetha and got some propah duels in! Sure der's Pokémon battles here in dis place, but nothin beats a good ol' game'a Duel Monstahs. If you're all jonesin' as hard as I am den's der a resahvation at da Goldenrod K.F.T. by da Bike Shop on Christmas Day! Dinnah's on me fa dose' who wanna come, so hit me up if you're lookin' ta join!

[Grinning widely, Joey salutes the camera in an exaggerated fashion before cutting the feed.]

[Radley definitely doesn't feel comfortable eating what he assumes is Pokemon, but he would love to have a gathering with fellow people from home. Maybe he can order some potatoes and salad or something.]

That sounds like a lot of fun! I've wanted to do some gatherings like that too, but I'm never sure when's a good time for everybody. I'd love to come by at some point. What time are you thinking of starting?

[Joey's energy has attracted Usi's attention while Marik's watching the feed. He's propped himself up over his trainer's shoulder which is weighing him down until he manages to nudge the Gengar off. How can a ghost be so heavy?]

[Mostly so he can be Kaiba's hypeman because his deck is trash right now.]

Would spectators be allowed? Admittedly, I'm curious as to what exactly this has become. [THERE'S NO SOULS INVOLVED ANYMORE, SHE KIND OF LIKES THAT IDEA.]

I mean dey pretty much played duel monstahs back in your time, so it's only right we getcha squared-away on playing dah modern version right?

[Joey flashes a thumbs-up.]

No big bad dahk god lurkin' in da shadows for dis version too, so all da bettah for actually enjoyin' yaself eh?

Oh it's da best! Dey got all kindsa' different sides n' snacks, and da pahty basket comes with a buncha chicken and even a lil' cake for folks'ta split.

[Joey pans the camera towards the menu.}

You can get a whole mess'a different potatah snacks, dey got different chicken styles ya can get, different ways'a cookin' it, and da whole nine yahds.

[The view returns to the booth.]

It's actually crazy how close dis place is to da chain I know from back in Domino, so boy did we luck out!

Yeah I feel dat one. I swear we're always gettin' crazy dangerous places ta duel dese' days doe, so playin' someplace that ain't an ancient crypt or Atlantian shrine sounds like a win ta me!

[Joey laughs.}

Duelin' sure works up an appetite for me doe' so dis'll be da perfect combo! I do think it'd be bettah ta do it old-school with da mats n' such doe, as it's safe ta say that bustin'-out holograms in da middle'a da restaurant's probably a no-go.... cool as dat would be...

Da resahavations for eleven, but I'm sure people'll be tricklin' in as dey get up n' such. Christmas is a day for relaxin' after all, so der's no rush. You gotta put ya name in da queue for da pahty basket doe', so I put us in for three a' dem things. Betta to have too much chow den too little, and duelin' works up one heck of an appetite if ya ask me!

[It looks unhealthy as fuck from what he can see of the menu but his diet hasn't been great either. Ramen and snacks when Kaiba isn't home or just ordering out because what is cooking when you're rich.]

Is this that Christmas chicken thing you mentioned before?

Oh der's a bunch! Lemme getcha a view of all da options dey got.

[Joey turns the camera around to face a promotional brochure on the table.]

They got all kinds'a stuff ya can get with da box. Each one comes with ya choice'a sides, ya choice'a cake, and ya choice'a different chicken types. Der's different options ya can get with different buckets, but I got a big spread of all da different ones so we should be good.

[The Pokemon exclaim in glee at the cake, especially.]

[A Stantler can be seen in the background, watching Ryou talk to Joey.]

Oh wait a minute! Somehow I forgot you were da one dat made dem things, but da fact that you're here too is badass den!

[Though the camera can't see exactly what he's doing, Joey flips through the pages of the Pokegear to check his balance before turning his attention back to the conversation.]

I ain't got Kaibacorp money or nuthin' but I made a decent chunka change since comin' in here and I was wonderin' if you could build a couple'a dem Battle City-style disks.

[Joey looks sheepish as he continues. Trying to place an order through Kaiba wasn't at the top of his list of things he thought he'd be doing after coming into this world, but dueling is dueling and it's a helluva lot harder to be a Pro Duelist if half the people are playing on paper mats.]

I figure, bein' da old model and all, dey'd be cheapah ta make and it's what a buncha da people here seem ta know. Dat kinda thing in da realm'a possibility at all?

[Joey takes notice of which part of the flyer seems to have gotten the most applause and a big grin spreads across his face.]

I see ya little guys got a sweet tooth! Well der's not just one kinda cake up for grabs! Dey got a pink one, a couple kinds'a chocolate, and dis really good white frosting one dat blows my mind. I think dey got a red velvet one too, but I nevah had dat one personally.

[He flips through the brochure for pictures of the cakes, but strikes-out and returns his attention to the camera.]

I been doin' Christmas Chicken since I can remembah, but I only stahted doin' it solo since I was 12 so I don't remembah what all older stuff dey had. I always look forwahd to what they're gonna have up fa grabs doe, so it's gonna be real cool sharin' it with people.

[He grins again.]

Oh da cake is fantastic! Dey got a buncha different types too, so we'll have one'a each type. Dey got a white frostin' one, two different, chocolate ones, and one I think is red velvet. I only evah got da one I showed ya though, so I'm not sure what da others are like.

[As his brain processes past the idea of Pokemon world Santa what Ryou said begins to actually sink-in.]

Yo wait a minute! You got ya first badge? Congrats man! We gotta toast dat come da pahty for sure! Christmas Chicken is da best for celebratin' things ovah, and stahtin' off da gym challenge with a bang is perfect for celebratin'!

I'm sure they're all delicious.

[While not the most observant when it comes to being sensitive about certain topics, he does notice that Joey says he's been doing this solo for the past 4... 6 years? He would ask why but having lived in his head for a time, he suspects he knows the answer to that.

So in a rare moment, Marik actually decides to say something nice. Clearly hell has frozen over. Joey's excitement is kind of infectious.]

Well, you get to share it with all of us this year. I know we're not your main crew but it should still be fun, right?

[Joey moves the camera to pan across the lobby.]

Back in Domino most people who got da bucket would grab it ta take home, and next'ta nobody would actually stick around ta eat it in da restaurant. So, we got pretty much da whole place to ourselves since I put a resahvation in.

[The camera turns back around to face Joey again, as he rests it back on the table.]

Dat bein' said, we'll probably wanna keep da Pokemon put-away. Havin' a big group in a restaurant on Christmas already makes me feel like we're bein' a bit of a burden, so I don't wanna add to dat by bringin' out a buncha critters. Knaw'mean?

It has been. I talked about it a long time ago and taught a few people the basics but nothing more came from it. Honestly, Chenzira's the only one I play regularly with. Even then, I'm splitting my deck so it's not exactly the best way to go about it for the full experience...

[Marik glances off screen and frowns for a moment. He's already had to leave the little guy at home during his date... Leaving him behind for something pertaining to Duel Monsters pulls at his heart strings even if the Yamask himself understands Joey's reasoning and is completely fine with it.]

... Mn. I'll agree to that only if we take a ton of photos so I can show Chen when we get back.

Oh man dat would be awesome. If we could get some cool pics'a all da people playin' duel monstahs den not only would it make for some good memories, but maybe it would get otha people interested in playin'!

[Joey claps his hands together in exclamation but then, after realizing something about what Marik had said, looks at the camera in surprise.]

Dood. Did ya say that you play Duel Monstahs with ya Pokemon? Dat's friggin amazin'!

That all sounds delicious. Red Velvet is my favorite.

I'm looking forward to it. I heard about the tradition and I tried it a couple of times.
