You know, I was under the impression that I'd taught my Pokémon to keep their word whenever possible. Yet it seems I was wrong, and now I've to deal with this thankfully small pile of eggs.

[The pile in question is, by any regular standards, enormous, but the years have long twisted Cecil's sense of scale when it comes to such matters. Still, Rosie the Clefable does look almost worried as she pats each egg in turn, and Cecil himself looks like he's battling a headache.]

If any of the available species catch your eye, feel free to buy an egg or two. Considering the circumstances and our... need to revise our agreement, I cannot promise they'll be available during our usual summer clutch, or even in the foreseeable future.

[Rosie turns away from the pile just long enough to shrug at the camera. Their trainer is a softy, there's no way he won't let them have their regular summer fun!]

[Well if anyone might turn a simple question into a heart attack inducing one it's Zack Fair. He's all smiles as he listens eagerly to everything Cecil has to say.]

Well yeah don't more eggs mean more gil? Or...I guess it's like..pokemoney or something...pokebucks?

[Oh no he's going on a tangent. Just give him a moment.]

I have a few ladies and guys! I was a trainer at first but I didn't like watching my pokemon get hurt so I decided I'd just train them against me and have them enjoy this world with me and be a breeder....so I really don't know much. [or anything.] I mean I'm still not sure how my honedge Buster came out of an egg, that was wild!

Ah, but to get any of that not-gil, you need to find buyers for your eggs, which is easier said than done.

[He still needs to find homes for more than half those eggs. He suffers.]

Having both males and females is a good start! ... If they share an egg group, that is. For example, Honedge is part of the Mineral group, which includes many, many rocks you'd not expect to come out of eggs. Two of the eggs present in this clutch come from a double Aegislash pair, but the third was fathered by Longjing, who is a Steelix. Don't think too much about the logistics of that couple; down that path lies madness.

[Zack is just gonna prop his phone on a counter and take out a pen and paper to take some of these notes down. He really has no clue at all Cecil, he is just a simple boi.]

So people don't just...buy eggs? I thought it was a bigger market. I mean like, wouldn't you want more buddies?

[As he is writing, Mr. Beans his houndoom stumbles into the room behind him, tripping over himself as he does and causing a loud crash. Zack doesn't even flinch, this is normal.]

Okay so egg group is a thing...so I can't have just anyone make an egg? No promises on the weird egg thing though, it keeps me up at night already!

There is a market, but there is also a limit to the number of Pokémon a single person can train. And of course, certain species are more popular than others, so certain eggs may take longer to sell.

[Cecil does react to Mr. Beans' grand entrance... with a smile and a wave. What a sweet, clumsy little hellhound!]

You absolutely need a male and a female of the same group if you wish to obtain an egg, with one exception: Ditto. A Ditto can breed with nearly any species, even ones that have no gender... but a Ditto's offspring will never know extra moves upon hatching, which will lower their value. Not that it stopped Gogo from dallying with a few of my Pokémon, this time.

Oh man so Ditto's seem like a thing I should get maybe. It might lower value but if the pokemon is rare that helps right? Is there like a list of rare pokemon? I'm kinda drawn to ones that look like dogs from my world but I haven't really seen a pokemon I didn't like yet.

[See, Cecil gets Mr. Bean's charm. His very dumb charm. Hope he's alright.]

Well besides maybe like Muk. Have you seen one? It gets everywhere!

[And in comes Mr. Beans in the video just taking up the whole screen and licking it a few times.]

Mr. Beans you can't eat that!

[Zack grabs the phone making the camera move until it's wiped off with his shirt and now securely in his hand, trying to find a better angle away from his houndoom.]

There's no true list, as the populations of various species can vary over the years, but those unknown Pokémon found in the eggs we received last month are certainly rare at the moment. It's a shame Cinque and Layle's offspring will take after their mother, truly; those Glimmet are fascinating creatures.

[You know what's also fascinating? The way Cecil switches from thoughtful to horrified the instant Zack mentions Muk. A man so pale should not be able to go whiter, and yet!]

Please do not speak of them! Every year, my garden is invaded by piles of toxic sludge... I've never managed to grow so much as a single tomato. Every flower I plant dies, I need to clean the pond every two days, my Psychic-types must dedicate nearly every hour to chasing them away! Truly, even the worst dog slobber is nothing compared to a single drop of Muk essence.
