141st moon [video
You know, I was under the impression that I'd taught my Pokémon to keep their word whenever possible. Yet it seems I was wrong, and now I've to deal with this thankfully small pile of eggs.
[The pile in question is, by any regular standards, enormous, but the years have long twisted Cecil's sense of scale when it comes to such matters. Still, Rosie the Clefable does look almost worried as she pats each egg in turn, and Cecil himself looks like he's battling a headache.]
If any of the available species catch your eye, feel free to buy an egg or two. Considering the circumstances and our... need to revise our agreement, I cannot promise they'll be available during our usual summer clutch, or even in the foreseeable future.
[Rosie turns away from the pile just long enough to shrug at the camera. Their trainer is a softy, there's no way he won't let them have their regular summer fun!]

Ah, so your team decided to surprise you?
Video
[Predicted by whom? He has a strong theory, but no proof.]
A weak excuse, if you ask me. Their children are always strong.
Re: Video
Or your team simply wished to surprise you.

[Min-Gi sounds alarmed. His team haven't produced any eggs so far, but if that's a small pile he really hopes they don't decide to any time soon.]
video;
[He gestures at the eggs.]
-is very much a small pile, by my admittedly non-breeder standards.
[Fewer eggs than there are Pokémon! It's been literal years since that last happened!
No wonder Cecil sounds so tired, really.]

You can handle training that many? I don't even have twenty and it already feels like a lot.

[Euphemism of the year, certainly.]

[Naeva's looking at this. And then slowly turning to look at her pokemon.]
And perhaps see about using this as a teaching moment for these ones.

[Trying to not sound desperate takes a certain effort on Cecil's part.]
Do you wish to teach them how to have strong children, or the benefits of moderation? There are many lessons to be learned from my team's... enthusiasm.

[She winces a bit...sympathetically.]
Though I don't believe I have enough of them to produce such....impressive results.

[There's a reason he'll never, ever become a breeder.]
I'll give them that much, they waited until I owned a house before they started having those simultaneous clutches. It makes the logistics slightly simpler.

Whoa! I didn't know you can have that many eggs! Do you have any tips or something? I'm new to breeding and I'm not really sure what I'm doing so far.

[This is apparently the day for unexpected heart attacks, but that question might have hit harder than anything else. It forces him to concentrate on the subject, at least.]
Well, first of all, the more Pokémon you train, the more eggs you'll obtain. Especially if you have multiple females; a surplus of males won't help you much, beyond offering more variety for egg moves. ...How much do you know about species compatibility?
Re: Video
Well yeah don't more eggs mean more gil? Or...I guess it's like..pokemoney or something...pokebucks?
[Oh no he's going on a tangent. Just give him a moment.]
I have a few ladies and guys! I was a trainer at first but I didn't like watching my pokemon get hurt so I decided I'd just train them against me and have them enjoy this world with me and be a breeder....so I really don't know much. [or anything.] I mean I'm still not sure how my honedge Buster came out of an egg, that was wild!

Which is why Cecil gets a video call response from a familiar face, although much younger than anytime Cecil would have seen him - around 16 or so. He doesn't recognize Cecil at all.]
Hey, um...I'd like to buy a Minior egg. And, I gotta ask...if that's a small pile, what does a big one look like? Is it normal for Pokemon to have so many eggs?
video
As it is, he still needs a moment to stop that impulse before he responds, because Materia have mercy what the hell.]
You're in luck. Meteor has only "fathered" a single egg this time, but no one has yet purchased it.
[Should he send out a feeler? Offhandedly mention Tifa the Breloom, perhaps? No, not yet.]
My team's usual clutches tend to be nearly twice as large, due to their numbers, yet for some reason, this time... Perhaps they've simply learned to be reasonable. Still, I'm lucky; were I a breeder, that pile would be four times as massive. Of course, species play a role in that. Dragons only lay one or two eggs per month, while Magikarp can lay six times as many.
omg Tifa the Breloom, I love it <3
Great, thanks.
[He boggles a little at Cecil.]
Can't believe you're not a breeder and you still have that many. Your team must be huge. Do you train all of them for battle?
He's got Cloud the Castform too!
THAT'S SO CUTE!! my Cloud has a Castform already, too XD
Some people/names and species just match like that. XD
also why I gave him a swablu starter XD
A cloud birdy!!

[He really, really does.]
Due to previous incidents, I've trained my team to do all their breeding at once, a single time during the year. They picked summer as their season, and kept to it for years... But today was 'auspicious', they claim, and so they've prepared a smaller clutch to take advantage of it.

[And about to become smaller. Bruno studies the pile and hums thoughtfully.]
... There's seven I'm definitely interested in from what's available.
