Can You Feel the Love Tonight? (Kallura Wedding Log)
Who: Keith, Allura, and all of their loved ones
Where: Four Island Beach and the Pony Attack on Voltron House
When: May 21
Summary: Keith and Allura celebrate their marriage with their loved ones. Reception with music, food, cake, and foam weapon duels to follow.
Rating: PG to PG-13, will warn as necessary
Log:
I. THE CEREMONY
Very thankfully, none of this weekend's craziness has extended to the weather. There might be a few light sun-showers later in the day, but for the morning, the sky is calm and mostly clear, only dappled with a few clouds, the lingering cool from yesterday's rain tempering the tropical air. ... Hopefully the teleportation shenanigans will behave, or Allura will have WORDS with Arceus. (They've already had to deal with emergency fridge repairs this weekend...)
The stretch of beach just outside the house has been decked out to the nines, the seats for trainers, cushions for Pokemon, and the arch facing the sun-kissed ocean not just in Keith and Allura's usual colors of pink, blue, red, and purple, but deep green Monstera leaves and bright flame-colored bird-of-paradise flowers; all the Voltron colors, even if a few members are missing in this world. Guests are urged to sign the guestbook next to the gifts table before taking their seats; thankfully, the programs have been printed on sturdy paper and given little wooden handles so they can double as fans.
Soon enough, Keith arrives with his party, including Captain Shiro taking his place as today's officiant. And after a brief interlude, a long clear trumpet note rings out, and the bridal procession makes its way down the sandy aisle.
II. THE RECEPTION
Rings and vows exchanged, bride kissed, now it's time to party! Everyone is ushered back to the house for a feast prepared by Hunk and Jane, food stations scattered in and around the property.
Chips and pink-tinged flatbread with queso dip, mango ceviche, and a variety of salsas and fruit chutneys; deviled eggs; skewers with coconut shrimp and pineapple, Southwestern chicken, or miso-glazed vegetables; and for the entrees: berry-glazed pork, beef with a red wine sauce, seafood, ears of corn, and sweet potatoes, all slow-roasted in an umu dug into the sand by the house. For drinks- the only station Shiro was allowed to touch- there's wine, champagne, sangria, beer, sake, as well as a few flavors of lemonade and fruit punch for the teetotalers. The dessert table is just as bountiful: miniature galettes in sweet and savory flavors, sopapillas with honey and chocolates for drizzling, and cupcakes filled with a bright green custard. (It's matcha, mint, and basil, don't worry). The centerpiece, of course, is a beautiful, rustic cake, topped with a Litten in a top hat and an Alolan Vulpix with a veil. The cake itself is a marble of chocolate and strawberry, filled with a rick dark chocolate ganache and strawberry compote.
In between bites, there's plenty of music and dancing to be had thanks to a collab band of Kazuki Hihara, Chicken Choice Judy, Misaki Yamazaki, and Super Sonico. Starting off from the bride and groom's first dance, the music for the evening is an excellent balance of classical, classic rock, and modern hits from across the regions and the multiverse, playing long into the evening.
Of course, if dancing isn't your thing, two other stations have been set up: two rings drawn into the sand, and one featuring a corner with a makeshift rack of protective padding and foam weapons. Yes, there's going to be sparring and Pokemon battles at this wedding. Suit up, battle to knock outs or duel to three points, and try not to get hurt, nobody needs a paramedic visit at the wedding.
So eat, drink, dance, duel until Allura tosses the bouquet and the couple head out for their honeymoon. And don't forget to grab a wedding favor before you head home, custom-made by the bride herself.

The Ceremony
Once Kazuki spots the bridal party emerge from the house, he begins a classic trumpet tune to grace the ladies making their way down the steps and towards the altar. Luisa Madrigal leads the way, followed by Fluttershy, and finally Allura herself, maid-of-honor Romelle beside her on one arm, while her first partner Coressa the Alolan Ninetales strides gracefully next to her trainer. Allura's shy smile beams through the simple veil, held in place by the circlet Shiro gave her last Christmas, the five gems in it shining with the Voltron colors. The hand not hooked onto Romelle's elbow fidgets a bit with her bouquet; even with all her experience with public functions, including more than a few weddings, this is so, so different. This is her wedding, to one of the best men in the universe, one of her best friends, and all that joy and excitement threaten to burst out of her. After those few shy glances around the crowd, her eyes meet his, and all the nervous energy transforms into a bright calm. He's here, therefor she can do anything.

As it was, the weird weekend in general (thanks, Arceus?) had left Keith in a bit of a whirlwind state due to having been a pony at one point and full Galra at another, so he was glad that he was back to normal shape and size right now. That was one thing off his shoulders, and it meant that his suit and tie still fit. He'd been concerned, okay?

She placed her hand over Allura's in encouragement as she noticed that fidgeting. Keith definitely looked handsome (and also quite nervous), and Romelle was beaming for the two of them.

(The text is very formal and stiff, because Riz absolutely googled best wedding wishes. The writing itself is kind of a scrawl.)
Gift: One of those big ass, heavy casserole dishes. Listen, back home, he and his mom have one of these that his parents got when they got married, so he just presumes this is The Wedding Gift.

Now it's time to party! Say hi to the newlyweds, mingle or spar with other guests, feast, dance, and enjoy!
Keith
The timing with it being one of those weird weekends with all the visitors did have him mildly concerned about some stuff... like would something happen to change someone there into something else, or would the memories of the event be blurry like weird weekend memories could sometimes be... but he was determined to at least make the most of it and enjoy it. Plus, it meant some very special people had been able to be at the event, and he was ever grateful for that...
Eventually, later on in the evening, he'd ditch the jacket from his suit, leaving it on the back of his chair, and his bowtie was hanging loose around his neck with the top button of his shirt collar undone. It was a comfort thing, okay?

Of course Allura's been by Keith's side for most of the day, but at time they've been pulled a ways apart for dances or mingling. (And refills on dessert for herself and Keith, it'd be a shame to let Hunk's amazing cooking go to waste~) It's towards the end of the evening that Allura makes her way over to Keith's chair again, after he's discarded the jacket and started loosening his tie.
"Getting a bit tired, husband?"
Saying that word still thrilled her, even hours after the ceremony.

Radley
Charming as usual, he was happy to invite others to dance at points and to just catch up with friends at other points. His Pokemon happily danced too.
The battles and duels didn't really interest him, but he watched a bit to see how they were going, and occasionally to root for someone.
He admired the wedding favors a lot. "Wow, these must have taken ages to make!"
Romelle
As they were on the beach, she had no trouble kicking off her shoes later that evening to just dancing in the sand barefoot. It felt nice as the sand had leftover warmth from being sunsoaked all day, but had cooled down enough to not be burning hot. She was a little shy, but might ask a few people to dance.
She was also spending a lot of time watching a certain green-haired trumpet player in the band...

Jane
Dressed appropriately for the event and the weather, Jane's a bit shy about jumping into the festivities, so she's more liable to be hanging out with a refreshing beachy drink than throw herself at a chance to duel or battle. But hey, when you get a peaceful and relatively normal moment in chaos, you should enjoy it, right?
If you feel like kicking back and just having some pleasant conversation, the woman who brought you the green-goo cupcakes is your girl!]
Late with Sawsbucks
[Of course Allura's busy for most of the day, but she makes sure to take a moment in the middle of the festivities to track Jane down.]
I can't thank you enough for all your help, Jane.

Ryan Akagi | OTA
That being said, anyone extremely close to the band might feel lighter than normal. If they look down, they'll see they're not quite touching the ground anymore. It isn't anything dramatic, just an inch or two at most from accidental bard magic he can't entirely control. If it isn't something they want, they can pretty easily step back down. Sometimes it's Ryan himself hovering slightly, but he doesn't seem to notice. He's just really in the zone, that's all.
The musicians do occasionally tag out, so they can all get a chance to eat and dance and mingle, so when he isn't playing he can be found with a slice of cake or a colorful drink in hand. Often his Minun is on his shoulder, but the little guy is spending a lot of time playing with Ryan's new ears, watching them flick like a cat's when he touches them.
"Min-uuuun, cut it out!"
He pouts, but doesn't make any sincere moves to stop him either. It is what it is, because raising Min-un lis like raising a toddler.

SHIRO (now in the right place)
Thankfully, he's nice and human right now. So no fussing with ridiculously long hair or super strength.
For the most part, that's where he stays, perched on the porch. Just watching. Maybe if someone drags him into the party, he'll mingle. Though the new suit does stand out a bit.

Allura
Finally, after a weekend of fourth-wall chaos and more weeks of planning chaos... she's married. She and Keith are married. As soon as the ceremony's over, all the tension of the past few weeks drains from Allura and she rides that wave of joy and peace throughout the rest of the party. She can be found all over the place, of course. Mingling like crazy, wanting to give everyone a hello and a thank you at the very least, dancing with her husband and anyone who asks for a song or two, and snatching bites of food and drinks outside of the cake cutting. And while she's taking it easy and not battling or sparring, she'll be cheering enthusiastically on the sidelines!
Kazuki OTA
It felt like it had been forever since the last time he was able to play for something like an audience. Allura and Keith were the couple of the hour, of course, so it wasn't like there was a whole lot of attention on him, but he kinda liked it that way. It lacked the formality of the sort of performances he was used to, where he had to be aware of everyone watching him and act accordingly. Here, he could just play, and he knew that people would really only hear his music, not scrutinize him at the same time.
Especially during the reception. People weren't just listening to the music, they were enjoying it. Dancing, chatting, eating... This felt more like things should be. No stuffy classical pomp and circumstance. Just fun!
A little more than halfway through the night, he decided to take a break. Man, he sure was glad his lung capacity hadn't decreased at all (good thing he kept up his habit of a morning jog even after all these years in the Pokemon world) because this was a marathon. Brass instruments required such a force of wind, even a fit guy like him tired out after awhile. He let the rest of the band know he was tapping out for a bit, and went to a nearby table to loosen his collar and drink some water.
(outfit here if you care to look!)
