Can You Feel the Love Tonight? (Kallura Wedding Log)
Who: Keith, Allura, and all of their loved ones
Where: Four Island Beach and the Pony Attack on Voltron House
When: May 21
Summary: Keith and Allura celebrate their marriage with their loved ones. Reception with music, food, cake, and foam weapon duels to follow.
Rating: PG to PG-13, will warn as necessary
Log:
I. THE CEREMONY
Very thankfully, none of this weekend's craziness has extended to the weather. There might be a few light sun-showers later in the day, but for the morning, the sky is calm and mostly clear, only dappled with a few clouds, the lingering cool from yesterday's rain tempering the tropical air. ... Hopefully the teleportation shenanigans will behave, or Allura will have WORDS with Arceus. (They've already had to deal with emergency fridge repairs this weekend...)
The stretch of beach just outside the house has been decked out to the nines, the seats for trainers, cushions for Pokemon, and the arch facing the sun-kissed ocean not just in Keith and Allura's usual colors of pink, blue, red, and purple, but deep green Monstera leaves and bright flame-colored bird-of-paradise flowers; all the Voltron colors, even if a few members are missing in this world. Guests are urged to sign the guestbook next to the gifts table before taking their seats; thankfully, the programs have been printed on sturdy paper and given little wooden handles so they can double as fans.
Soon enough, Keith arrives with his party, including Captain Shiro taking his place as today's officiant. And after a brief interlude, a long clear trumpet note rings out, and the bridal procession makes its way down the sandy aisle.
II. THE RECEPTION
Rings and vows exchanged, bride kissed, now it's time to party! Everyone is ushered back to the house for a feast prepared by Hunk and Jane, food stations scattered in and around the property.
Chips and pink-tinged flatbread with queso dip, mango ceviche, and a variety of salsas and fruit chutneys; deviled eggs; skewers with coconut shrimp and pineapple, Southwestern chicken, or miso-glazed vegetables; and for the entrees: berry-glazed pork, beef with a red wine sauce, seafood, ears of corn, and sweet potatoes, all slow-roasted in an umu dug into the sand by the house. For drinks- the only station Shiro was allowed to touch- there's wine, champagne, sangria, beer, sake, as well as a few flavors of lemonade and fruit punch for the teetotalers. The dessert table is just as bountiful: miniature galettes in sweet and savory flavors, sopapillas with honey and chocolates for drizzling, and cupcakes filled with a bright green custard. (It's matcha, mint, and basil, don't worry). The centerpiece, of course, is a beautiful, rustic cake, topped with a Litten in a top hat and an Alolan Vulpix with a veil. The cake itself is a marble of chocolate and strawberry, filled with a rick dark chocolate ganache and strawberry compote.
In between bites, there's plenty of music and dancing to be had thanks to a collab band of Kazuki Hihara, Chicken Choice Judy, Misaki Yamazaki, and Super Sonico. Starting off from the bride and groom's first dance, the music for the evening is an excellent balance of classical, classic rock, and modern hits from across the regions and the multiverse, playing long into the evening.
Of course, if dancing isn't your thing, two other stations have been set up: two rings drawn into the sand, and one featuring a corner with a makeshift rack of protective padding and foam weapons. Yes, there's going to be sparring and Pokemon battles at this wedding. Suit up, battle to knock outs or duel to three points, and try not to get hurt, nobody needs a paramedic visit at the wedding.
So eat, drink, dance, duel until Allura tosses the bouquet and the couple head out for their honeymoon. And don't forget to grab a wedding favor before you head home, custom-made by the bride herself.

"So that's where they ended up!" And then relieved... "I'm glad it wasn't like in the middle of some Team Rocket hideout or something."
But all the same...
"It is wonderful. I'm very happy for him," she said. Maybe even a little envious that he's getting a second chance at spending time with a lost parent.

He smiled. "It's nice to know that sometimes the weirdness can be good. I found my sweet Ponyta on the last weird weekend, so that was positive too." And sometimes friends came to town who weren't nearby otherwise.

"It is very good," she said. "I met Keith's mother back home. In fact, the two of them found me when they were together." She didn't know all the details of their relationship, but she knew that they had spent a lot of time apart and had only been recently reunited. "This is the first time I've met his father, though." And, yeah, that was kind of a sad topic, too, but it was nice that she was having the chance to meet him.

"What do they think of suddenly ending up in another world?"

She considered his next question, though.
"I'm not certain. Krolia seems to be okay with it. And Keith's father appears to be taking it in stride, for all the strangeness it must be for him. Alternate realities are something we were able to confirm through our own work and travels in the universe, but it's not something his father's seen before." She shrugged. "You'd have to ask him. I don't really know him well enough myself to say for sure one way or the other." After all, she'd only met Keith's father this weekend.

He chuckled. "I don't know him at all, so I probably won't. But that's good they seem to be okay with things."
no subject
"That's true. I think, out of everyone here, Keith and Krolia might be the only two who do know him." She shrugged a little. She didn't know all the details, just that Keith had been young when he'd lost his dad, and, what she knew of Team Voltron and how they all met each other, she was fairly certain Keith hadn't met anyone on the team until after that point. "So, I wouldn't be surprised if you wouldn't know, either." She chuckled a bit.

"He um... he's no longer with us back home."

"I appreciate the sentiment," she said. "It was hard, but... the person responsible for it has been... taken care of. I suppose that's all I can hope for."

"It is." She took a deep breath, trying to shake off the pall. "We're here to celebrate a wedding, though, so... let's focus on that, yes?"
no subject
"It's really beautiful here. All of you must have worked really hard to get it ready."

He nodded thoughtfully. "Lapras are pretty cool. It's sad Pokemon are hurt, but it's good there's people out there to help them."
no subject
"I'm glad you thought so! We worked hard to make sure everyone was comfortable and had a comfortable stay there."
