Hypothetically speaking, is it ever okay to steal a pokemon?
Unrelated second question -- what's a better name, Chief or Sarge?

Depends on the motive and circumstances.
Though I don’t know why anyone would ever have need to. Pokémon seem plentiful here and they’re well taken care of from what I’ve seen.

Text, Private
[Allura's FIRST reaction is RIZ WHY! But... thinking about it, that doesn't seem like something he'd do out of the blue at all. So she's just... going to private this to not implicate him.]
If it were a case of abuse, or if it was a Pokemon that someone else stole that you are rescuing on behalf of the owners... then yes.
I assume that's the hypothetical case here?
Text, Private
[That doesn't even have super much to do with this, just a general musing.]
Hypothetically speaking, what if you knew a pokemon was being neglected because its owners cared more about hurting each other than anything else?
no subject
Only technically.
And how badly do you mean? Hypothetically?

Also, it's kinda hard to just pick a name without knowing what it's for.
I mean, how are you gonna know which one's more fitting?
no subject
Okay, fair point.
[It takes a moment, but then Doppio will receive a picture of a Mabosstiff. The Mabosstiff in question still looks a bit wet, like he was just given a bath, and age seems to have made his face even droopier than your standard individual. His dark 'moustache' is even starting to show signs of greying.]
So, what do you think? Chief or Sarge? His face kind of reminds me of the kind of guys you see cast as chief of police in cop shows.
[You know, the older human or dwarf character, grumpy but fair, a father to his men. Also the character that gets shot in the third season cliffhanger when they need to boost the ratings a bit. Riz has seen enough cop shows to know the tropes!]
no subject
But you know what's more important than morality? Cute dogs!]
Oh wow!
That's definitely a "Chief," if you ask me.

Although I'd hope nobody would rat you out.
Can't say I'm a big fan of either of those names, though. But between the two? Chief.

And don't worry about it. I wouldn't post about something I'm planning. Not giving away your plans beforehand is like Rogue 101.

I mean, probably? there's exceptions to everything, right?
[Like for example, winding up in a totally new world in Team Rocket Boot Camp and being told you had to steal pokemon or else. ...Not that it applies to anyone they know or anything.]
Chief and Sarge would both be wild names for a stolen pokemon though. yknow. ...since they're police ranks.
no subject
[Riz... might not consider that an exception. Though then again, he also super wouldn't blame the person. It's still doing a wrong thing, but for an understandable reason! The real villain here is
capitalismTeam Rocket.]Good thing I definitely did not steal this pokemon.
no subject
What brought this kinda question on, anyway?
no subject
Hypothetically speaking, of course.
no subject
However -
Why seems more pertinent at the moment.
no subject
You don't need a reason to post a hypothetical. But also, I've got a new pokemon now. You should come meet him. You'd like him. He's a dog.

stoleacquired a pokemon under slightly dubious circumstances himself.](no subject)

Except the name. That is completely un-hypothetical.
And chief, huh? What makes you say Chief over Sarge? I keep going back and forth between the two.
no subject
Better question: did you steal it from someone who'll want it back?
no subject
[and added after a moment.]
I also technically did not steal anything.

Alternatively, did you get stuck with Team Rocket and now you gotta play by their rules?
If the former, go for it. Just don't let the cops catch you.
If the latter... just steal from people who deserve it and see if you can find a way outta that mess.

Why would I ever play by Team Rocket's rules?
