Jotaro Kujo | JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean (some spoilers)| OTA
[Unfamiliar city? Check. No recollection of how he got here? Check. Lots of strange creatures running around? Tri-ple check. The look on man's face screams 'well, this may as well happen' as he walks through the streets, taking things in quietly (a stark contrast to his sense of fashion). For someone who was dead but is now pointed not, Jotaro's remarkably calm.
For now anyway.
Golisopod and Grapploct are natural enemies in the wild, and while its weird that the duo are beefing in the city, it's not unusual for those two evolutionary lines to fight. So anyone with a Pokedex may not be entirely surprised that a wild Golisopod bullying a tiny Clobbopus, clawing it with the small claws on its front legs.
The bug punts the poor creature off into a bin, making it shriek in surprise and pain. The Golisopod grins(?) and moves in for the kill. However, Jotaro immediately steps in front of the taller bug and glares at it.]
Oy, oy... Bullying kids? Don't you have any self respect? [To what would be a suicidal move for most, Jotaro steps in front of the smaller Pokemon. He scowls at the Golisopod.] Why don't you pick on someone your own size, you oversized Arthropod?
[The Golispod clicks its mandibles angrily and immediately slashes at Jotaro. Jotaro jumps back as the creature screeches at him.]
Honestly... It's guys like you that piss me off. ORA!
[And Jotaro just fucking punches the Golisopod under the chin, completely bypassing its hard shell. It's not enough to take out the creature but the Pokemon is at least stunned.
Jotaro doesn't seem to have any Pokemon... so even though he seems fine, maybe he needs a hand?]
-------
[Video]
Good grief.
[The camera turns on to show a beach. It's hard to discern which beach is it because the screen is largely taken up by Jotaro's chest and a poor Clobbopus that's a little too close to the camera. The poor Pokemon looks like its been crying and its covered in bandages.]
So, I patched this little guy up and he was fine for the last few hours. But he started crying suddenly and I can't figure out why. Anyone good with...
Clobbopus!
Yeah, that.
Oh my GOD
Not that it matters with the commotion going on, she'd expected to run into some Pokemon battle or wild Pokemon going at it, sure, but uh.
Well, that's someone punching a Pokemon.
Hold on.
That's her DAD punching a Pokemon.
Luckily even while bundled up in ten layers of clothing (shut up, it's cold and she's still not used to it) her leavanny is perfectly content in this weather and had been casually walking beside her trainer as if nothing is out of the normal.]
... Well, sure you know what to do by now. [She doesn't have to say it twice as the just under four foot tall leaf bug is hopping forward and wrapping the golisopod in strings and yanking back to pull the other bug off it's feet.]
Can't say I expected to see you here punching a bug today! [Casual as always.]
yeahyeahyeah
Jolyne! [Oh thank goodness, she's alive. Last time he saw her, she was bleeding in the ocean.
Unfortunately for Jotaro, he wasn't around enough to see Jolyne as 'casual' to recognise it's her "always". He's used to see her serious, grim, and relatively pissed off. But that's only a fleeting thought and he looks at the bug, eyes narrowed.]
I wouldn't need to do pest control if this overgrown bug knew better than to pick on kids. [He tilts his hat forward.] I won't show mercy on scum like that, bug or not. Star Platinum!
[......... He's absolutely going to Ora Ora Ora that poor bug if not stopped.]
no subject
That's my name, last I checked. [Might as well casually step around the whole being dead thing, she can mention that and maybe explain that shit later. But right now it seems a little more important to.
Maybe.
NOT punch the bug pokemon?]
How about we don't do that and said we did. [... Because, well, Stone Free the Pokemon is busy holding down the other big, that means Stone Free the Stand is free to try and do the exact same thing to her dad instead.]
Punching Pokemon ain't exactly a thing we do here. Especially when they're already under control, they don't work on the same morality we do. Most of 'em, anyway. [Her own bug doesn't count and is a fucking angel, thank you very much.]
Think we got more important things to talk about and do than this.
no subject
Pokemon? Is that what you call those things? [Jotaro glares at the ensnared Goliospod before he 'tches'. With a grunt, he withdraws Star Platinum.]
We certainly do. But firstly... [Jotaro turns and walks to the garbage bin. He peers in it and stares.]
Oy, octopus. You can come out now. Jolyne has the situation handled.
Clobbopus! [Jotaro reaches down and pulls out the teary-eyed fighting Pokemon. He carries it over to Jolyne.]
... Lead the way.
no subject
That's what they're called, yeah. Though they have specific kinds of names or whatever. [But at least he's putting Star Platinum away so she can just let Stone Free withdraw as well.
... And that is sure a clobbopus, sure. She's not going to question it because it makes sense that he'd get that upset over something like that.]
Can do. Though maybe this place will have the decency to teleport us somewhere warmer than here. [She's not holding her breath on that matter. But once they get to moving, Stone Free, the Pokemon, lets the goliospod go and toddles after them.]
You sure ended up here when everything is kind of tits up wonky, normally we don't have access to our Stands. [Who is "our"? Who knows.]
no subject
So both this guy and your stickbug are Pokemon. [Yeah, this may as well happen. Jotaro raises an eyebrow at Jolyne's half-baked explanation but follows after her.]
You seem to know the rules of... wherever here is well.
no subject
Sure are. Basically anything here that's not a human is a Pokemon. [And even some humanoid things are Pokemon, but she's not about to subject him to the horror of whatever Mr. Mime and Jynx are.
She pauses for a moment, fishing around in a pocket to look for a certain pokeball.]
I think after damn near four years I should know my way around this place and how it works, yeah. This stuff only happens for abooooout a week every year? Probably means you won't be here after that week, too, so I wouldn't worry too much about the details. [She probably shouldn't sound so clinical about that, but it's just the fact of the matter if he showed up here like this.]
A lot's happened in that time, too.
no subject
Four years? [You looked different but... seriously?!] Good grief... a lot of nonsense then. But what's the difference between you and me? Where do I go after a week and why do you stay here?
no subject
... Dunno? Only difference I know of is I got here during a time when this garbage wasn't going on, meaning I'm stuck here. And gotta make the best of it.
[Oh, there's the ball. Just give her a second as she's chucking that ball in front of them and it's obvious why when a huge honking green dragon is the answer.]
But it's cold here and I'm not staying out here longer than necessary. Get on, she doesn't bite. Much.
no subject
Stuck? [Jotaro's expression darkens.] How do we get you out of here then?
[Jolyne suddenly summoning a huge, fucking dragon from a tiny sphere doesn't even shock him. Surprised, sure, but today was already so fucking weird anyway. If anything, he's more concerned about his daughter's blasé attitude.]
... Another Pokemon, I assume?
[The man moves the Clobbopus from his arm into his pocket and follows Jolyne's lead, getting on.]

VIDEO VIDEO
A muffled voice- unfamiliar, but clearly young- scolds the Stand.] Weather-
Weather put that down-
[The Stand simply keeps staring...Is he staring???...at the phone.]
Weather-
Give THAT-
[A scuffle. A tumble. The phone is in someone's hands; darkened by healthy exposure to tropical sun, dressed mostly in winter wear given the season (albeit winter wear that others will note suspiciously resembles certain pokemon...), blond with gold eyes...]
What did you even want with this, we need to get a UBir...
[Emporio has now realized what is still on the screen.
Emporio has now realized who is still on the screen.
...................
The phone falls about a centimeter before being caught, fortunately saving said screen.] D-
Dr. Kujo?!!
no subject
The man blinks as a familiar yet clearly changed face hits the screen. Puberty has been kind to Emporio, it seems. He only met him briefly but-]
Emporio, wasn't it? You were with Jolyne and the others.
[Technically he's Professor Kujo but Jotaro doesn't care enough to correct him.]You've grown.no subject
He does open his mouth once or twice, but nothing seems to come out. There's something he's clearly trying to say, wanting to say, and yet...
(It's been so long. He's worked up but not the same way he ever expected. If it were 3 years ago he'd be breaking down into tears but instead his mind reels with questions like 'how long is he going to be here' 'has he met Hermana' 'does he know-')
Emporio swallows, and speaks- voice much deeper than the squeaky, alarmed sound he had exclaimed with before, the sound that no doubt actually resembled his voice at twelve- somewhat hesitantly.] I-
Yeah. ...Yeah, it's Emporio. I...
[And he blurts-] Pucci's dead.
[no wait, bad, that needs context.] I killed him.
[shit no that's worse] It-
It's over now, it's... He can't finish what he was doing anymore!
[he's bad at this]
no subject
Ah. [Well... that's a lot. He is surprised it was Emporio who killed Pucci and not Jolyne.] ... I see.
Are you alright?
no subject
[Ah, there's the panic.] The last thing I saw of you was...was..-!
[.......................]
How... ...how much do you remember?
no subject
[The Clobbopus starts wailing at that, though whether its related or not remains to be seen.]
no subject
[The teenager swallows.] ...I...
...She's here now, [he says, unwilling to convey her 'true' fate. It's all too easy to infer however.
All too easy to guess, when he's unwilling to come out with it.]
...I'm sorry. ...I was too late.
[As if it were ever his responsibility. As if he could have ever had something to be late for, to begin with.]
no subject
You shouldn't blame yourself. It wasn't your battle.
[The man sighs.]
Is she happy?
no subject
...Yeah. ...Yeah, she is. She...she's got a gym of her own, in a remote island where it's peaceful...
[wait] Do... ...did anyone actually explain this place to you..?
no subject
Yes, Jolyne did. She picked me up and brought me here. I was just... making sure.

Video;
Can I ask what you've tried already?
no subject
I tried feeding it and tried to settle it down for a nap but neither worked. I'm pretty sure the bandages are clean and it hasn't injured itself but I am at a loss.
[The Clobbopus is still flailing around, raising its little tentacles and trying to hit the screen. Jotaro gently puts his hands over the Pokemon's and pulls it back.]
no subject
[Probably not the best thing to do while bandaged up, but pokemon are much like toddlers in wanting to do the one thing they shouldn't.]
no subject
[He looks gravely down at the Clobbopus who is still flailing its appendages.]
I assume it wants to fight other Pokemon and not me, right? ...I've never done a Pokemon battle.
