victory_road | Event: The Reveal Glass

Across the Pokémon world, characters may have spotted a falling star last night. Or at least, one would think that's what it was: a naturally occurring phenomenon, rather than a legendary artifact. Specifically, the Reveal Glass fell to earth during a fight among a group of legendaries started by the return of a long-lost family member. But it's probably best to leave them to handle all that themselves, while your characters deal with other consequences.

The Reveal Glass shattered upon impact, and the shards scattered throughout Kanto, Johto, and the Sevii Islands… And made their way into the hearts of your characters. But bleeding isn't the concern here. Instead, the impact will hit when a character first looks into any reflective service. An eerie feeling hits them as they're transported to the Mirror Dimension.

While this realm can be many different things for different characters, one thing is always true: It is a place of honesty, where true selves are revealed. Those struck by a shard will find themselves facing truths they are no longer able to hide, and now must accept. Fortunately enough, even those who haven't been struck will be able to enter the Mirror Dimension during this event via a reflective surface to offer help. By the end of the 29th, things will return to normal. Characters will be back in the usual Pokémon world and their hearts will be rid of the shards, but time is strange in the Mirror Dimension, and the experience may feel like it goes on far longer than a day. Or, maybe that's just the emotional exhaustion.

I... I don't...?

[ "I don't know"... except she does. She realizes that in this fit of rage, she had found herself again without even realizing it. It's not perfect, her features still occasionally flicker into the visages of other girls, but... ]

I... I'm Yuzu... Yuzu Hiiragi...!

[ She says it out loud... and tears start to flow fast at the regaining of her sense of self. ]

I'm Yuzu...! The others... Ruri, Rin, Serena... but I'm me...!

[ She doesn't take his hand. Instead, she just lunges forward into a hug as tears run down her cheeks. She doesn't even care about the blood... or maybe she's just still so unstable right now that she's not even processing it. ]

[She's a child. Not in a bad way, but in the way that she needs support. She shouldn't have to bare this alone.

Jotaro jumps a little as she flings herself forward but he catches her all the same. He hugs her back without hesitating, holding her in the same way he would have his daughter.]

It'll be okay, Yuzu.

[ It’s strange, really. She’s spent three years in this strange world, almost four now… and her adventure throughout this place had kept her distracted from it, but here she is at last, facing the burden she bears for the first time.

It’s no wonder she’s so much young in this realm… she had never moved past it… at least, not until now. ]

H-Haah…

[ She sniffs, still crying. For the first time in a long time, her sense of self feels concrete… something she knows for certain, instead of just looking to things like her bracelet to reassure her.

It’s not perfect, as seen by the occasional bits of someone else still flickering in bits of her form… but it’s the most comfort she’s had in years. ]

[Well, Jotaro can't blame her. At least she's only a few years younger, not forty in the body of a teenager.

But he's glad that she feels a bit more comfortable and not tearing apart at the seams. Jotaro lets Yuzu hug him for as long as she wants. When she's finished, he pulls back and looks over at her.]

How are you feeling now? Better, Yuzu?

[ Honestly, anything is a vast improvement from how she was earlier. She felt as if she was falling apart, yet held together by stitches. Now... well, there's still flickers of someone else, but... ]

M-Mm... I'm fine, I think...

[ She thought she had a handle on herself... but in the end, all she's ever done these past few years was push it all down until this mirror dimension turned it all inside out. It still feels like her mind is reeling, but she can recognize how much she had needed that help... and after three years of taking care of herself in this world, she can't help but feel bad at finally leaning on someone else for a change, even if she knows that's not a bad thing. ]

...huh? W-Wait, what the heck!?

[ ...but now that her mind isn't in complete disarray and she's properly calmed down... it is occurring to her that the (really, really tall) boy in front of her is supposedly in the process of bleeding out. ]

I-I'm sorry! I didn't even notice...!

[ Weird to admit! Especially considering she has a fair amount of his blood on herself too at this point. ]

[Obviously, just having someone yell at her and then coming to a revelation isn't going to help her fully. It's just a start. At least now she's acknowledged it, she'll be able to sort her identity out slowly, like all young women her age.

Jotaro gives her a small smile before he hears her exclaim. At first, he thinks she's going to be annoying as she realises how embarrassing she is. But then he notices what she's actually alarmed about and looks down at the bloody mess between them.]

Ah. No, it's fine. These injuries aren't even real - just something I suffered through several years ago. Getting stabbed is expected when you fight a vampire. It's fine... it doesn't hurt as much as it should.

[Hopefully, by being dismissive himself, she'll think it's nothing to worry about. (Be concerned, Yuzu)]

[ Wh

Where do you even start to unpack the words that just came out of Jotaro's mouth? Not that Yuzu's one to talk, considering her mess of a situation, but having a complicated situation doesn't automatically prepare you for "I fought and got stabbed by a vampire a few years back and the injuries were THIS bad".

Oh, and also she was just clinging and crying on him. Embarrassing, but believe it or not, bloody teenager does rank higher than her embarrassment in terms of priorities at the moment. ]

T-They aren't...? I-I mean, I guess it's not the weirdest thing in here, but...!

[ She really can't talk! Considering that she was just dealing with the worst case of a broken identity in a very literal sense until just a few minutes ago. Plus, she's noticing that she's also younger... not that there's much of a difference. Height is turning out to be something she might be lacking in. ]

A-A vampire!? You were fighting a vampire!? These wounds are awful! Are you sure they don't hurt...?

[Jotaro, one to rarely explain, simply tilts his hat, as if that magically explains everything. He got better, so it's not like it's a big concern to him. He wipes his hands on his black coat, but that does little more than smear the mess further. His hands still remain red.]

Yeah. He was threatening my mother. I took care of him.

[Jotaro nods. He stands up properly, as if to prove he's fine, but he staggers a little bit.]

... I just need rest. Once we get out of here, I'll probably heal.

U-Uh huh...

[ It still feels weird, hearing about other's crazy supernatural experiences, when she really can't talk when it comes to crazy situations. That and, well, now that her own mind isn't fraying at the seams... she instead has to deal with all of the blood throwing her off-guard.

Seriously, seeing this much blood is making her feel a little faint, actually. ]

P-Probably...?

[ It's good to stay optimistic, especially since... well, it's not like there's anything immediate you can do about that much blood, but that still doesn't really instill confidence in her. ]

[Jotaro sees her expression and he casually tilts his hat down and closes his jacket. The wounds aren't as obvious with his black jacket covering the stained green shirt but the damaged coat still does indicate where he's been hit.]

Let's not worry about unimportant things. Why don't you tell me about this place? [He looks around the somewhat merged, distorted mirror world.] Are these places important to you and those other girls?
