The air is humid, and unusually warm for this early in spring. The plants around are just a bit unfamiliar: giant ferns, things that look like palm trees mixed oddly with towering conifers, shrubs with fan-shaped leaves, plants sprouting objects that look halfway between flowers and pine cones. Water splashes and trickles, probably from a stream somewhere nearby. Leaves rustle in the breeze, and there are distant animal noises - but none that sound like the Pokemon cries you'd expect to hear in the forests of today.
...is it still today?
Welcome to prehistoric Johto!

"Well, I suppose anywhere can sound exciting if you haven't been there before..." He shrugs awkwardly, "We moved to America a few months ago, and I'd certainly been enjoying things in New York, but it all seems pretty dull compared to here."
Maybe eventually he'll get bored of Johto too. (It will definitely happen.)
"You're from Japan, aren't you? I've heard great things about there, too." And he hasn't acquired his extremely petty distaste for the country yet, hurray.
"That's true," He's seen his fair share of foreigners aweing at what are every day sights to him.
"I went to America for a short time, although, I didn't see much outside of the amusement park we had gone to visit," Rui shared," I am from Japan, you're right. Shibuya, Tokyo to be precise~ It does have its own bit of excitement, I suppose." Though Rui's definitely had to make his own from time to time.
He slows down from the power walk a bit to look behind him. "Do you suppose we've lost that Pokemon yet?"
"I'll have to remember to visit when I get the chance - I'm sure my wife would like traveling the world with me once we get back. We never got around to our honeymoon, although... I suppose that means we're honeymooning in Johto."
Joseph slows down in turn, glancing over Rui's head.
"I'm sure it found someone else to bother by... now."
The Tyrunt pops out from the undergrowth, apparently having followed them from just out of view. This time it's focused on Rui, nudging his leg insistently.
"Not just honeymooning in Johto, but prehistoric Johto!" Rui pointed out, like it was a great situation to be in. For Rui, it would be ideal, but for most people...
When the Tyrunt starts nudging his leg, Rui chuckles. "It's a determined little fellow, it seems~ But perhaps we could use this to our advantage. It probably knows this area much better than we do."
He pats the Tyrunt's head like its a dog, "Now, now~ No more treats unless you do something for us first. Hmmmm...What do you think should be our priority, Joseph-kun? Food, water, or shelter?"
It does seem like they're stuck with it. Joseph lets out a long, performative sigh, and gives the question some honest thought.
"Hrmm... well, I've still got some food in my backpack, water should be easy enough to find in a jungle once my bottle's empty. And I guess he can't find us a vending machine. So - shelter is probably the most pressing thing."
The Tyrunt wags its tail, and thinks for a moment before dashing off a few feet. It stops then, waiting for them to follow it.
Rui follows along behind it. He loves how smart Pokemon can be.
"I wonder what kind of shelter there would be in a jungle like this. I'm personally fine with anything other than it bringing us to its mother." Rui would rather not have another Tyrantrum thinking that he's a threat.
