Touring about Goldenrod City oh boy! (OTA)

What: Enjoying her time in Goldenrod City before travel to Ecruteak City begins with Loop (and maybe catching a Stufful if Cali is lucky enough)

Cali is back to work at the Pokemon Center as a medical assistant! April Tenth and the Eleventh had been relatively calm days save for the disgruntled Pikachu with electrical build up going on (He got a bit that one does holy moly). The Twelfth though, that’s when poo hits the fan when the JUMPLUFFS arrived. The Pokemon Center is overrun with pokemon dealing with the worst case of allergies imaginable, attacks and abilities going haywire in the center. Cali and Battenberg certainly are having a time of things with the allergy cases. Good news (or bad if you’re not a fan of high energy), Cali is still as upbeat as ever as she goes to cheerily greet whoever is waiting in line.

“Hi, how may I help you out today?”

I may see you, I may tell you to run (May 14 in National Park)

It was supposed to be a nice little walk in the National Park, especially since Sweet Sixteen had been mostly a sulking old man lately. But alas..JUMPLUFF happened and turns out, the salty Appletun has seasonal allergies. There came the low hums, something akin to a wasp, as the area smelled of fresh baked apple pie from Sweet Scent. Both Cali and Sweet Sixteen froze for a moment as they looked behind to see not one, not two, but three Beedrill coming out of the woodworks. Without having to take a second thought, Cali picks up Sweet Sixteen, holding him like a football, before booking it with three very hungry Beedrill following along.

The wind is picking up and the smell of fresh baked apple pie is strong, oh hey…I think I hear running…now who would be running on a day like this?

“Holy smokes, RUN!”

You know what they say about the young (May 15th Touring Goldenrod City)

It didn’t matter if it was insanely rainy out, Cali is determined to have a bit of fun out in Goldenrod City now that she has some time to enjoy the fun parts of it! Armed with a rain poncho covered in cartoony looking Bellossoms dotting its surface, a grumpy old apple dragon, a nervous Buneary, and high energy, Cali goes to check out the attractions in Goldenrod City like the highly questionable Game Corner, Sports Stadium, and The Radio Station! Boy golly Cali, you sure picked a pretty poor time to go touring in the rain!

Send me on my way, on my way (May 16th Going out to Eat)

At last, the final day in Goldenrod City has arrived and of course, it’s gonna be celebrated with a nice dinner out with the team! Downside, it's nighttime and this is Goldenrod City as Cali, in her rain poncho, goes to navigate with her two pokemon on where the diner is exactly. It’s been a while since she last chatted with the owner back at the Pokemon Contest as Sweet Sixteen grumbles in frustration over it. Chantilly could only look at Sweet Sixteen in shock over the language he was using over the situation, covering her ears a bit. Be it wise or unwise, much to Sweet Sixteen’s horror, Cali decided it was a fine idea to ask someone for a bit of hand.

“Sorry to bother, but do you know where the Eevee Diner is?”

“Oh, he sure would,” Radley smiled. “He loves learning about all kinds of animals.”

He loved hearing all the cute Eevee calls every day.

"Same, they're just so amazing and I love how diverse they can be too, like Javelinas and hippos being related, that one is amazing." Cali was excited to talk animals, they're seriously awesome.

Cali couldn't blame Radley, Eevee calls are seriously the cutest thing out there.

"What are Javelinas like?" Radley asked curiously.

Cali gets her thinking cap on as she recalls the Javelinas, "They're like really awesome desert animals back on Earth. They look like wild pigs, but they're not, they're mini, fuzzy desert hippos. They tend to be in groups, kinda like gangs if memory serves me here called squadrons."

If you smell bacon cooking, that's Cali's brain over thinking things..

"They sound pretty cute," Radley said. "Are they friendly?"

He'd heard hippos could be dangerous.

[calisugarfiend]

"I think they're cute, they got tiny snouts and compact round bodies. They are pretty dangerous though since they're territorial and have pretty gnarly teeth." Cali explained, cute as Javelinas are...they be living up to their mini hippo reputation.

"Yeaaah, sounds like meeting them wouldn't be a fun time," Radley says.

["Eevee?" Evie thinks they should try to make friends!]

[calisugarfiend]

"I wouldn't recommend it either unless its a zoo, then definitely check them out there." Cali goes to salvage the wonder of animals quickly, it's great to see in a zoo rather than out in the wild.

[Battenberg gives a concerned look towards Evie, "Dearheart, you most certainly do not want to encounter that one."]

"Yeah, in that case it would be fun," Radley smiles.

["They don't like to be friends?" Evie says, tilting her head.]

"It really would, I've never been to one before, but I've heard great things about it from my Mom growing up." Cali smiled along as well.

["Think of them as Beedrill, avoid them like PokeRus." Battenberg had seen things she wished she didn't see when she tried the last time of mind reading.]

"Zoos are pretty fun," Radley smiles. "There's always something new to see and learn."

["Oh! That's scary. That's sad they're like that," Evie says.]

"That's what I heard, I wish I could go see one sometime in the future." Cali looked hopeful for a possible zoo or at least something close to it.

["It is, but at least there's better things out there like cookies." Battenberg said, cookies being the best thing out there.]

“I don’t think they have zoos here, but I could be wrong,” Radley says.

[“Cookies are yummy!” Evie beams. “Radley makes great ones!”]

"Oh okay, kinda like home then." Cali figured that might be the case...pokemon zoos would probably not fly all too well here..

[Chantilly, "They really are the best! Cookies are such a nice treat too."]

“Yeah. Here, the animals are pretty much everywhere,” Radley chuckles.

[“We always have a lot here at the cafe!” Evie beams.]

"They really are, along with the form of transportation." Cali remembered the UBird very well from the Swinub Scurry from long ago.

["Oooh! I'll have to see if I can convince Cali to purchase some." Chantilly goes to look up at Cali, she was considering the cookies big time.]

“Those are pretty useful. I’m not a big fan of roughing it,” Radley admits.

[There are lots of packaged cookies of different kinds at a glass counter. Evie beams happily.]

"They really are, came in a pinch when I wanted to volunteer during the Swinub Scurry. Though I don't mind roughing it at all, it reminds me a bit of the indoor camp nights I used to have as a kid." Cali gets a bit nostalgic for that one.

[Chantilly is eying the cookies big time, yep her mind is made up, Cali is buying them for the journey tomorrow.]

Radley smiles at that. “Indoor camping is fun,” he says. “There’s not a lot that can go wrong with that kinda camping.”

[“We make a lot of the cookies together!” Evie says. “We bring ingredients!”]

"It really is, my Moms used to fix up blanket forts for me during the indoor camping nights and told ghost stories around my little projector lantern." Yep, the sweet intoxicating nectar of nostalgia is being drank in well by Cali as she reminisces.

["That's so cool! Cali makes icebox treats for us sometimes, they're insanely delicious." Chantilly happily explains.]

“Those sound like really special memories,” Radley smiles.

[“Yummy! How do you make them?” Evie wonders.]

"They really are, I loved those nights to bits growing up." Cali smiles along.

["Oh man, Cali uses crushed up cookies, jam, berries, whipped cream, and lemon curd for them. They're really yummy." Chantilly explains.]

“I used to play like I was camping in my room at home,” Radley says. “I did that all alone, though. I would’ve loved to have memories like that with family.”

[Evie looks starry-eyed. “That sounds so amazing! We’ll have to tell Cosmo to tell Radley! She can type!”

She indicates a shy Kirlia.]

"I'm so sorry Radley, that had to be hard for you. Do you want to talk about it?" Cali isn't going to push it and leaves it open.

["oooh! That's a good idea, I think Radley would like the recipe!" Chantilly was amazed that Cosmo can do just that.]

“Nah, I’m okay,” Radley said with a melancholy smile. “I found friends later to do fun stuff with.”

[“He would!” Evie beams. “And yeah, we have a StaryuTube channel and Cosmo types for it!”]
