[If you wanted a Meowstic and a Luxray purring and rumbling over each other on video, today is your lucky day. Even Pinsy the Skitty seems in a pleasant mood, and peers at the camera from atop the Luxray's head. Their trainer is also in shockingly good spirits compared to his last few public broadcasts. And look! He even shaved the beard off!

Yes, the video's a bit crowded, but what matters is the message.]

Happy First Day! I don't know if that means much to anyone here -- there seemed to be a lot of partying last night -- but it has a bit of significance in my world. It's a time to celebrate the previous year and the friends and family who made it wonderful.

So, on behalf of most Thedosians here, I'd like to extend an invitation to everyone, friend and stranger alike, to a gathering this evening at the Goldenrod Inn. Just ask for the private ballroom. There will be food -- and free drinks.

[Anders gives a wink before shifting the camera to get Hawke rather than his team in the background of his shot, though her smile is about as sardonic as usual.]

If any of our friends are unable to attend but would like to see us today, let us know and we'll do our best to meet up before this evening.

[The gathering itself is pretty low-key for the setting. There are a few tables set up together in a fashion suspiciously reminiscent of a medieval banquet hall. Some hors d'oeuvres, main and side dishes, and desserts for humans and Pokemon, nothing too fancier than you'd find at a casual dinner, are placed upon the tables, and drinks of both non- and alcoholic variety can be acquired from their own bar. The only hotel attendant actively engaging is here, and only to make sure minors don't grab the rum or something.

The rest of the hall is open enough for a few dozen people or large Pokemon to move around in comfortably. Eat, drink, and be merry!]

[He is very much delighted by Angel's enthusiasm, and may take her hand to place a kiss upon it just to fluster her.]

In some places, it was once a yearly check in with distant relatives. Now it's mostly an excuse to get drunk with family and friends, to show them appreciation for the previous year. [He's positively beaming.] I, for one, am deeply grateful I met you.

[Now significantly flustered, Angel tucked her cheeks into what would undoubtedly be a familiar looking scarf. Unfortunately, the matching hat had been left behind, leaving her ears to burn humiliatingly bright.]

I could say the same to you as well. [She grinned all the wider from behind her shield.] Unfortunately, I do not think I will be partaking in any alcoholic activities.

[With her luck, one drink would knock her straight out.]

I'm very glad to hear it.

[With a small chuckle at her reaction, he has the mercy to release her. And maybe he's trying to hide a tiny bit of his own embarrassed joy at her makeshift veil.]

Not a problem! There's plenty in the way of nonalcoholic drink. Water, tea, cocoa, that delightful fizzy sugary thing, something to the effect of "kick" or "hit," I forget.

[Angel quirked a brow, angling her face out just enough for Anders to see the amused smile on her lips. She let out a tittering sort of laugh.]

You mean Punch?

[Oh no, her laugh is really cute. Save him.]

Ah! That must be it.

[As he smiles, a couple of Pokemon who may or may not be familiar from video broadcasts make their way over carefully. For once, Tiny is ahead of her clothed Granbull friend, and takes an uncharacteristically close step towards Angel, peering at her calmly. The proximity is apparently odd enough for Anders to raise his brows.]

Well, look at that. She isn't normally so bold around strangers.

[Angel quieted as the Ponyta approached. She could sense the timidity of the creature, and didn't dare alert her in any way. When the creature drew ever closer, she extended a hesitant sort of hand. A delighted breath escaped her as the creature nuzzled her way into the girl's outstretched palm]

She is delightful.

[Angel wasn't so distracted as to forget about the other Pokemon, however. She lifted her gaze and smiled at Maid Magnifica.]

You and your friend are both very charming.

[Tiny gives a quiet but pleased nicker, easing her head forward so Angel's hand runs through her oddly cool mane. From behind her, Maggie raises a paw to very nearly wave, before covering her muzzle with it shyly.

Anders is very impressed with their relative ease around Angel. It's a relief, really, to see either of them open up to another person.]

I don't suppose you brought any of your friends? There's plenty of room for everyone.

[Angel let out a delighted giggle, eyes still locked on Maggie for a moment. Turning her attention back to Tiny, she gave the horse one last pet, before reaching into her own bag. She pulled out four more Pokeballs, letting out an Oricorio and a sentret. Her hand hesitated on the final ball for a moment, before wordlessly putting it away.]

The other three are milling about. [Angel glanced about, nodding to a Pokemon looming on the sidelines. The canid creature had its eyes locked on Angel, though she occasionally allowed herself to be distracted by the other, nearby Pokemon. Mari lazed beside her, also watching Angel, while a streak of brown fur could be seen darting about, looking for scraps.]
