1st Duel [Text, Anonymous]
[The anonymous post goes up in the evening. Anthy had been debating saying anything at all - still incredibly unsure of the reasons why she was brought here and by who, putting out any sort of message was a risk, and she'd been strongly advised to wait a while before making any posts. But at the same time, her curiosity had been getting the better of her. Just what sort of people found themselves living in this place? Could it be anyone she knows? Could it be...her?
She's decided to risk it. After all, today had already resulted in some eventful happenings that she could use to start a conversation, as well as get a better perspective on life in this world.]
Would someone be able to explain something to me?
Today, I saw someone called a "Pokemon Breeder" selling small brown creatures as pets, and charging quite a lot of money for them.
However, he kept saying how they "weren't right" for him, and that he was trying to "get them off his hands". Do people often speak about Pokemon like this?
I am new here, so I wouldn't know for sure, but it seemed wrong to me.
If these Pokemon are all supposed to be so powerful, would little cosmetic things really make them unwanted by someone?

I am meant to be a breeder as well, but I have never done it myself. I do not feel right about selling young Pokemon like items. Many do here. I just cannot bring myself to join them.
But even so, they should not be judged on what they look like, or how well they battle. They are only children.
[Anon Text] she'll be anon for all her responses unless noted otherwise
I'm glad I'm not the only one who does!
But it's common for people to sell these Pokemon?
Can't you go outside anyplace and find them in the wild? It seems silly to sell creatures you can befriend for free.
[Text]
It depends on the type of Pokemon, I suppose. Perhaps people might want a type that lives far away? To be honest, I am inclined to agree with you.
[Text]
Surely they wouldn't want to leave their parents so early on in life.
If that's the case, then, it seems to me it would be better to go to those faraway places yourself and make friends with them.

He can't do that to his friends at all! That's just so mean!
[Text, Anon] all her responses will be anon unless noted
Do you think he might still be trying to sell the Pokemon tomorrow?
[Not that it'd be a good idea to show up two days in a row and make more of his "defective stock" disappear...]
[Text, Anon]
We need to make sure we find him and fast! Send in the cute Pokemon squad on him, I say!

Video (because he feels text is impersonal, even if the other person is using it!)
The situation you describe sounds like it may not have been quite so altruistic a motivation, but to give the benefit of the doubt, perhaps the fellow wasn't intending any harm in it, either.
[Anon Text] because we're not switching to video on this end, all her answers will be anonymous
And by the way he acted, he didn't seem to think there was any harm in what he did, but I still found it rather cold.
Works for me!

[Hmm. That is strange. Not very common, at any rate.]
I'd think of it like selling purebred pets, I guess.

So do all Pokemon come from eggs?
no subject
Which means you'll find kittens hatching from eggs. Best to just run with it.
no subject
That sounds cute! I would very much like to find one of these eggs myself!
It must be such a good experience to take care of your own egg. I knew a girl who got to care for her own egg for a little while, even though she was embarrassed by it.
[But of course she knows about Nanami's egg. How else could it have gotten there?]

I'm not quite sure what kind they were, sorry.
And I'm still getting my bearings here. All I know for sure is that I'm in a city.
I've walked an awfully long ways, though.

I mean... yeah, people give away eggs because they want them to find good trainers who will raise them
but, not like that!!

I'm so glad that man wasn't a common type of person!

If that were me, I'd steal the whole lot from him and give him a good punch in the face if he complained. Officer Jenny be damned!
[Botan is a little passionate about the welfare of living things.]
no subject
Oh my! How brave!
I'm glad I'm hearing that what he'd done is so looked down upon by everyone.
Is Officer Jenny the only police officer in this place?
no subject
It's Jenny, some handful of other officers that don't get names for some reason, and her multitude of cousins and family members that inexplicably look like her and are also named Jenny.
This world is a bit odd with its NPCs.
