[Anders, still done up for work, looks rather unimpressed as he starts to broadcast from his hotel room. Without a word yet, he turns the video onto a Pokemon that no longer matches his adorable Skitty scrubs. Pinsy is flopped over on the bed, her much bigger body dwarfing the pillow she's stretched out on.]

I come home to find that somebody took it upon herself to dig a very special stone out of my bag.

I would say she looks far more regal, but she seems to be even lazier now. As if I thought it was possible.

[Just for emphasis, he extends a hand to lift one of her paws and drop it back onto the sheets, repeatedly, and the Delcatty's only reaction is a tired stare toward the camera.]

Incredible. I thought evolution was meant to make Pokemon stronger.

Perhaps the evolution drained her energy?

[ LONG TIME NO SEE ANDERS! Walter looks...tired but he's on a sofa, with Assumption and a Vulpix curled up beside him. Assumption waved to him, while the Vulpix laid down, to hide behind her tails ]

That didn't seem to be the case with any of the others... Perhaps using a stone is that much more different than evolving naturally.

[He doesn't sound convinced, but he does light up with interest when he turns the Gear back around, glancing at the reddish Pokemon after waving back to Assumption.]

Is that a new face I spy?

[ Walter nodded. ]

Darkness needed a day to get used to his new form as a Honchkrow, before taking off to show his Lyra. I evolved him with a Dusk Stone.

[ At the mention of his new Pokemon, Walter laid a hand on the Vulpix's back to reassure her. She remained hiding however, big amber eyes watching Anders carefully from behind her tails ]

This is Bonfire. She's...a little shy. I found her, being chased by other Pokemon.

[purramedic]

Ah. Well, I suppose that would explain it, then. [Oh ye of little faith in Pinsy's ability to be a lazy sack of shit.

Anders chuckles a bit at the timid Pokemon, her appearance vaguely familiar.]

Walter will look after you well, little one.

Is she a Vulpix, by chance?

Yes, she is. Assumption had a friend who was a Vulpix, so I'm used to the species. But...she can't use her fire. [ He spoke hesitantly, as if he wasn't sure if he was allowed to talk about it. Bonfire didn't take offense though, edging slightly out from behind her tails to get a better look at Anders. ]

I've promised to help her. [ To be fair...the man somehow got a Cubone to evolve into a fire-weilding Marowak. He's probably a good candidate to help a fire-type pokemon learn to use their fire attacks. ]

Evolving made Marcel harder to move off of my lap when he wants my attention, but he's really strong when he puts his mind to something now.

_{[As if on cue, Marcel shoves his enormous head under Bertolt's arm and nearly knocks his pokegear from his hands. Bertolt himself looks worn out, but it's not from dealing with an unruly giant dog for once. He only gives a half-hearted attempt to shove his head away, but he gives in and lets the Arcanine squeeze his way closer so his muzzle is always on screen.]}

I, ah... don't know what she looked like before, but she looks cute.

[purramedic]

With an Arcanine, strength doesn't surprise me. I don't know that I've seen a bigger Pokemon yet.

[He adjusts the camera to focus on the print of his shirt, stylized Skitties chasing balls of yarn.] She looked like this. [Without further ado, he places the Gear back in front of himself and immediately takes notice of Bertolt's state.]

Are you quite alright?

I've heard stories about ones that get bigger from some magazines I've been reading, but they live in the ocean.

_{[He's never seen something quite so big back home either, excluding titans of course.]}

I'm okay, though, I think. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night. Freya kept trying to smother me for some reason. _{[He can't have Marcel out in his tent anymore because he'd squish himself and Jean, so he's been having to make due with his other fire dog. It's nice to have a little personal heater with the weather being how it is!]} How small are the pink ones? I've never seen one before.

[purramedic]

[That doesn't surprise him too much. Not that he's seen any such creatures, here or at home, but he's heard of them, certainly.]

Who is Freya? [The "smother" bit makes him think cat for sure.]

Skitties are about the size of a Meowstic, on all fours. [Suddenly he's very concerned about Pinsy's newfound serenity compared to her size. Still not prime cuddling material, dammit.]

So they're close to a real cat? That's...

_{[Really cute. Maybe he should get one someday.]}

Freya's my, uh... Houndoom? Though she's not as scary as her name implies. She likes having the spots behind her horns scratched and she gets a little mouthy if she wants your attention, but she's never bitten me.

[If Anders expected anything better than a loudly laughing Hawke, he was sorely mistaken. Reclined against the side of D.T., Hawke trembled, clutching her stomach tightly as her belly laugh practically vibrated throughout the room. Even D.T. looked troubled by it, shooting his trainer a look before glancing back at Pinsy.]

Mine is better~ [If he thought she was better than sing-song taunts, he was wrong.] Mine is better~

[purramedic]

[The look he's giving her could immolate a dragon.]

But that's a dog.

Which automatically makes him better than Pinsy! But he evolved to get all big and powerful. Yours is just... [She motioned vaguely to the cat.]

You're out of your bloody mind, love. Pinsy is a magnificent beast.

[Astonishingly, the Delcatty goes so far as to lift her head and glower defiantly at Hawke. Sure, she loves DT, but she's definitely more fabulous than he is.]

[laughingstawke]

Magnificently out of shape and lazy, you mean.

[D.T., on the other hand, whines pathetically and bows his head. C'mon, Mom, you're making his girlfriend mad at him...]

[Why yes, that is indeed a zoomed-in pair of big blue eyes. And quite possibly tears there? What the fuck Angel. She just has a lot of feelings about not being able to hold all of the cats, okay?]

Anders! She is absolutely adorable. I hope you'll pass on my best wishes and congratulations to her. I know she isn't the most receptive royal in the book, but hopefully she will appreciate them nonetheless!

[Crying over cute cats? Angel is a woman after Anders' own heart. He pushes the Gear closer to Pinsy, and astonishingly, she graces Angel with a short purr.]

Well! She does seem to appreciate it.

[Fuck you Angel you can't spirit away Anders' starter. Not when she's finally tolerating being pet by him.]

Hm... I don't suppose you'd have any suggestions for a change of formal position? I can't decide what would suit her, and her current title is quite impressive... I'm not sure whether she should retain something so showy.

[He gives a short laugh, genuine but with the slightest hint of distress.]

That's just it -- usually she isn't shy about trying to shred my face when I bother her. It's... concerning.

Is she still doing other things she likes? Like eating treats or anything?

Well, let's see. She likes... [He thinks hard for a few moments. It almost looks painful. Eventually, he sighs.]

She doesn't really like much, I'm afraid. All I can think of is... glaring and swatting at everyone.

[How do these conversations happen? Every single time, someone ends up riled about their Pokemon and their life expectancy or their health or something else Pokemon related.]

[Jean frowns, considering, then brightens after a moment.]

She's friends with one of your other Pokemon, right? The big blue lion? Maybe if that one tried to play with her, she'd respond?
