1st Run // Welcome to the World of Pokemon!

[ The video comes on to show a brightly grinning newcomer! He's already on Route 29, having bolted from New Bark the moment he had his feet under him and his Pokemon given to him. ]

Hey world! I just got here and I got this super cool dog! Look at him! He's on his back legs and run like a champ, it's amazing! Show 'em what ya got Danny! [ The camera focuses on a Riolu, bright-eyed and eager. Danny the Riolu playfully flexed it's not-impressive arms, before turning and using his Quick Attack to show off his speed. Zip-zip! But then Ash quickly told Danny to stop and turned the camera again; this time it lands on a Sentret nearby. ]

Holy shit, who's that Pokemon? I'm gonna try and catch it. Here, hold this- [ Wait. The camera's being handed to the Riolu. Who turns it on himself and winks, before turning it back to Ash, who is trying to sneak up on the Sentret. Before lunging for it, trying to physically grab it. The Sentret rightly squeaks and struggles with him, before getting a good Scratch on his arm and bolting off. Someone skipped the tutorial on how to catch Pokemon... ]

Ah, ffffff-uck-

[... Goddamn that is some level of enthusiasm. Good thing she was bothered by those kids in Sanctuary enough that it doesn't annoy her too much...]

Indeed, there are. But you might want to be careful if you pull a stunt like that again; not all of them are as fluffy and harmless as that one was.

[... The scratches Ash got from the flailing sentret don't really say "harmless", but. That's absurdly tame compared to what she's used to.]

[Fatass rhino.... with armor? That doesn't ring any kinds of bells...]

You're out of luck, if you want to find something like that on the early routes. Monsters with actual fighting potential don't start showing up until you reach at least Violet City.

[...]

If you do find one of those, tell me where.

[Another snort.]

Oh please, that's nothing. Those rodents have all the ferocity of stuffed animals compared to the beasts you can obtain after some journeying.

[She fiddles with her gear a little to pan the camera out, then lets out a sharp whistle. From behind her, the large, fluffy form of an Arcanine appears, head tilted curiously as he watches... whatever it is his trainer is doing.]

Something like this is much better.

[sorry man she uses sentret as training fodder at this point, any ferocity they might have is completely lost on her]

[... It's funny, when Athena first arrived, she'd swear to you that she wouldn't get attached to these animals. That they were all just time bombs, waiting to turn into monsters that could put the Pandoran wildlife to shame.

But now... now, she can't stop that flash of pride as Ash looks so awestruck.]

This is Cerberus, an Arcanine. [Cue happy bark from the big doggo!] You can find his previous evolution to the west of Ecruteak City. To allow it to evolve into the form you see here, you need an item called a Fire Stone.

[... Hm. She'd only shown Cerberus because she knew where to catch Pokemon like him. She wouldn't be able to give Ash an answer on her other powerhouses if he were to ask about their locations, but if he just wants to see...]

Of course. I've gathered a decent team in my months here.

[It's a good thing she's still milling about outside the inn. It's not hard to find a table to set her gear on and give Ash a better view, becase when she calls out again, a very large, red and black Haxorus walks into view, followed by an Aegislash hovering close behind.]

These two are more of my heavy hitters. Typhon and Xiphos.

[It's a good thing Xiphos doesn't... exactly have a chest, because if he did, he'd be puffing it up in pride at that whistle. He's a pokemon who knows he's a badass, and it's darn good that other people can see it! Typhon is a bit more modest, but he does let out a happy sort of growl at the whistle.]

No. Xiphos was a bit smaller, though not by much. Typhon... [She lowers one of her hands, to just about the height of her knee. It's a drastic difference, considering the Haxorus now towers over the (...admittedly short) gladiator.] After he hatched, he was only about this big.
