5th Match // [video] Ecruteak

[The video feed switches on, focused on a piece of paper containing a simple line drawing of, presumably, a Grimer. There really isn't much else around that looks like one of those little guys.

Krieg is out of view behind the camera, for once, as the feed remains focused on his drawing. As usual, he just has a simple question for anyone who may be watching, and that question is this:]

Where do the slag stacks live?

[He's gotta get him one.]

In Celadon, just west of Saffron. A lovely city for Pokémon-catching, TM-shopping and badge-winning.

[Except for, you know, the piles of sentient sludge lying around.]

[That he can, though it takes him a few moments before he remembers that not everyone can travel easily between cities.]

If you can afford the train pass between Goldenrod and Saffron, it's not too long a journey. If you cannot... Thye're likely to be found in larger cities, where pollution is most widespread.

I hope your search will be successful! ...Without involving visits to the sewers.

[Baron's low-tech waterways are bad enough, he doesn't want to imagine what they're like in Goldenrod.]

Thousands, yes, but trying to catch a Grimer is unlikely to bring you to Cinnabar.

[Boy oh boy, is Cinnabar a special kind of terrible.]

Cinnabar is less polluted and more... half-destroyed and on fire. It's hardly the best environment, be it for piles of toxic sludge or for humans.

The volcano is hot enough to make your bag and shoes catch on fire. Burned feet are a pain, especially if you intend to travel. Escaping from the Pokémon Center with burned feet is difficult without an accomplice, and others look at you with disappointment in their eyes when they learn of it.

[That is totally not based on a true incident. Nope.]
