[Video] 1st Curse
[So one of the latest Team Rocket recruits is finally settling into things around here having done her best to lay low and learn about how this world works and now she's ready to throw a line out and see if anyone she knows is around.
But of course asking directly is lame so she'll make up an excuse to post a video and see if any of her stupid friends sees it.
The video itself features her Absol who appears to be having a starring contest with a mirror. Jinx Narrates. ]
Absol, The Disaster Pokemon.
It appears when it senses an impending natural disaster. As a result, it was mistaken as a doom bringer.
[Meanwhile her Absol is pressing his face into the mirror more and more trying to force the other Absol to look away. Inevitably the mirror falls over and would smash on the ground but you can see a slender hand catching it.]
Dooming himself maybe.

[She sets the mirror back and throws a chew shaped like an oversized doughtnut rice ball. He immediately attacks it. Meanwhile she turns the camera on herself setting it on the desk.]
Still if this place enjoys jokes he's a fitting Pokemon for me.
The name's Jinx and reading his information had me curious. How superstitious are you guys? Maybe other worlds have other things that are considered lucky or unlucky.
In my world things like breaking mirrors, black cats, spilling salt, the number 13? All considered unlucky.
Meanwhile four leaf clovers, horse shoes turned upwards, small coins found on the street or gross things like rabbits feet are considered good luck.
So what about you guys? Anyone out there chronically unlucky?
Video;
[He thinks for a moment, trying to recall them. He remembers reading through an old almanac, one of the few books on the farm, that was full of them.]
Seeds planted by a pregnant woman will do better. If the horses are restless, there will be rain during the night. If the holly berries are bright red, the winter will be long. If there's still leaves on the oak trees in october, winter is going to be unusually cold.

Sometimes you can figure out the science behind them, but magic was a thing that existed in my world so it's not always so easy.

[Now his interest is piqued. His world doesn't have magic. Except the titans which are... something. Unexplained. Unidentified Frightening Objects.]
Where I am from, we've got tales and stories about magic, but it doesn't really exist.

Uhh, hello. I've... been unlucky before, but actually I like to think that I've been pretty lucky so far.
[She brushes some hair back.]
I've never seen that kind of pokemon before.
Re: [Video]
[She turns the camera back on Noir who has gotten his head stuck under the bed chasing his chew toy.]
He is...unique that's for sure.
[...Will she answer the question? Probably, if she's being honest.]
Once, I uh, fell down a well and twisted my ankle?

She's perched on the end of her bed, rolling up her purple hair into the tight, coiled bun that she's been keeping it in lately - for work purposes. The Aipom on her lap is playing with the excess hairpins.]
I wouldn't call what I've experienced "luck", good or bad. A lot of things were meticulously planned, and not too surprising. [She casually sticks the end of a pin in the corner of her mouth as she works with a particularly tricky lock of hair.] But that being done away with was probably my first bit of good luck in my entire life, and I didn't need a charm. I just needed a friend.
Re: [Video]
[Her lips curl at the mention of a friend.]
Oh really? Sounds like a revelation. What kind of friend? What'd they do?
[Akio always did that sort of thing, so it's time to actually try at math because screw relying on him.]
Oh, this was the best kind of friend - a true friend. She never gave up, and did everything she could to show me the truth. [A pause. Anthy twists the lock around her finger, untwists it.] Even after I'd treated her so poorly, she still did it. That's when I knew.

But the mirrors thing is completely real. Some guy I knew back home, he busted a mirror and the next week he got arrested by the cops. They only gave him a caution, but his girlfriend broke up with him over it and bad shit keeps happening to him now. He somehow gets through it OK, but that don't mean he isn't unlucky as fuck now.

Are there any black cat pokemon? There must be right?
[She's scrolling through her dex list now looking.]

But there's tons of little pokemon that look just like pigeons and caterpillars and all that. If there's no cats around here then I want my money back. [ As a matter of speaking. ]

I guess it's kind of a lateral amount of luck for me. Life was starting to pick up again but being here gives me some time to...figure stuff out.

So no, I'm not superstitious.

So is there anything mystical or unexplainable in your world or is it all hard work, logic and planning?

What exactly was your life like before here than if you never needed luck?

...Which is kind of ironic, given my name.

Or it could be that whole "salt the Earth" thing you know? Bad for growth.
[ Obviously this field is her bread and butter, but she doesn't want to go too luck nerd on people and risk revealing she's not as cool and aloof as she wants to pretend.]
So what's your name then? I still haven't figured out how to read these things.

In my experience, little if anything relies on luck. Factors one may not be initially aware of, perhaps, but otherwise...
*shrugs*

[ Oh now Noir's trying to stick his head over Jinx's arm to see the other Absol. She pushes him away.]
What I'm finding interesting here is very few people have any belief in luck. Either we have a lot of type A trainers out there, or the superstitious ones just aren't casting their votes.
Are there any particular superstitions where you come from? Things other people might believe in?
