[For a minute, only the usual noises of a large city at night can be heard. It's only after two Meowth start arguing some distance away that someone finaly speaks.

Ash hesitated a long time, before starting this feed.]

...If I have to celebrate one more birthday in this world, I think I'm going to scream. Does anyone have any terrible birthday stories to share, or do I have to start telling my own?

Wah~ If it was, he held a grudge for that long! I dunno if I'd be able to do that, 'specially to a kid.

But it can't be, right? The army, was it fun? [Not the word you'd use to describe an army, but there weren't any major wars happening in her world at her time, and she's never cracked open a textbook to know what being in the army is like, outside of military dramas on television. But she imagines it's fighting under a leader, living together in cabins, having brothers you'll die for and who'll die for you, and to her... it'd be kind of fun.] 'Cause you have a family friend there already, and he'd take care of you?

...It was nice. The guy had a bad reputation with the higher-ups because he wasn't the best at following orders, but as far as the rest of us were concerned, he was the coolest pilot in the world.

[It would have been fun, in a way, if he had been in a state to properly appreciate it.]
