...If I have to celebrate one more birthday in this world, I think I'm going to scream. Does anyone have any terrible birthday stories to share, or do I have to start telling my own?

Nope, you’re perfectly in date for terrible ideas. You would not believe the number of guys I’ve seen who ignored the part about “extinguish the fire THEN drink”. Before you know it…. Third degree burns at the very least, everywhere.

Dealing with fire is like doing maintenance on mobile suits; only idiots skip any steps. ...Usually they do it only once, though.

One way or another, yup. One time, I saw a guy with a beard try it. That’s ten times worse, I think, because good job giving the fire fuel.

Eating wouldn’t be fun, I think, although I don’t usually stick around that long to get all the horrible details. At least they heal if you’re quick, right?

Yeah, but getting shoved into a healing pod for days or weeks isn't my idea of a great time, even if it leaves no scars. And that's if you have access to a healing pod in the first place.

Good luck if you don’t have that sort of technology, right? On the bright side, it's not always fatal and lesson learned: don't put fire in your face.

You'd think that particular lesson would be obvious. Then again, you'd think the same of 'don't tease the Magikarp', and yet...

Is that particular lesson because of a big heavy fish flopping into your face, or because of what they can evolve into?

Their evolution. Not that I'd want to be slapped by a big red fish, but I've never seen a Gyarados look delighted by life and the universe. I wouldn't want to get one genuinely angry.

That means I’ll just have to try extra hard with my Magikarp. Challenge accepted, I guess!

Keep it happy, and don't get eaten. I hear it's not a pleasant experience, especially with the fish smell.

And hope it didn't eat something too unpleasant right before you, I imagine. Though if it'S something unplesant enough, escaping might be easier than planned.

You know, with how long and snakey Gyarados are in the first place, it might be easier to escape from their stomach than any other kind of giant sea monster.

...You may be right about that, but I really don't want to be the one testing that theory. Just in case.

Well, if I fail at raising a cheerful Gyarados, I might find out, and I’ll let you be the first to know.

I'll be eagerly awaiting the complete lack of information on the subject in the future! ...And willing to offer assistance if there is no such lack after all.
