[Diana turns the camera on, looking bedraggled and peeved off.]

So, after whatever the hell that was this weekend, I really wanted to just sleep for like, a whole day. But this is what I woke up to in my face this morning.

[She turns the camera to show off the grinning face of a Lycanroc.]

What the hell, Ingno? Why do you look like that?

[The Lycanroc grins wider, letting its tongue loll out of its mouth.]

Lana didn't turn into something this creepy. I nearly punched you in the nose!

[The wolf-like creature doesn't seem to care, it shakes its head and runs over to sit beside another Lycanroc (Midday Form). Diana sighs off screen.]

Great, because it already didn't take me- [Pause. There's four, large, round shadows near the dogs feet.]

Lana... What the hell are those?

Thanks for helping me out this weekend. You probably don't remember but also you gave me an egg when I first got here, so now I'm giving you one back.

Hey Walt, Charlie hatched, he's real cute. My guys had some eggs too, so I guess this is my thanks for letting me have him.

[Okay, so Jinx doesn't actually get a note. Diana just drops an egg onto her stomach to wake her up.]

I'm not comfortable with dogs Diana. It would be best to give it to someone else.

You said you needed a Rock Type, and Lana and Ingno are pretty strong.

[Not that Diana really knew that much about fighting.]

Diana, I cannot accept it. I'm only just able to handle my Flareon. I cannot accept a more doglike pokemon.

I know dogs aren't great. But these guys really aren't so bad once you get used to them.

[Merwin the Houndoom. Now there's an asshole.]

[ He didn't want this creature. He didn't want a dog. However, her pleading made it clear she wouldn't listen to whether he wanted the creature or not. This wasn't about him; it was about her. Her giving him the dog was meant to be an act of charity. It didn't matter that the thought of having a dog made his throat narrow and his heart freeze in his chest, even when he had outright told her he didn't want it because he wasn't com- because he was afraid of them, her giving it to him from....from pity? For whatever reason, it wasn't about him. It was about her 'doing a good deed'.

Funny. Just over the weekend he didn't have his heart holding him back anymore. And in this moment, he wished he could rip it out of his chest and not feel again. It was easy to handle dogs like that. A few strikes from an iron bar and they would fall.

He didn't answer her again. He just lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, hand over his chest to feel his heart beat. ]
