[The video switches onto very shaky, jerky footage of the inside of a tent, and then a tentflap being pushed aside with very indistinct muttering in the background.

Outside, the early light of dawn is grey in a persistent drizzle. The gear (still not completely steady) looks out over a reasonably neat camp. Smokey the Ursaring would be pleased. Their old XO would only assign twenty laps. All in all, a very normal scene.

Apart from the legendary pokemon standing in the middle of camp like it does this sort of thing every day. That is a little not normal.

Have you ever seen Suicune? Have you ever seen Suicune steal a tea kettle? You have now.

The large blue legendary pokemon lowers its muzzle to nose at the kettle, before clamping its sharp teeth around it and lifting it up.]

Ah! No! No, no.

[It drops the kettle again, staring straight into the gear. For a moment everything seems to go still, even the sound of the rain drizzling down coming to a stop. It's a moment that seems to stretch, perilously thin and then suddenly it snaps, like a bubble bursting, and Suicune bends down to clamp its teeth around the tea kettle again and then it is off with a great leap, the rain suddenly coming down again with a roar.]

[Jane blinks into the 'feed, honestly looking pretty impressed.]

...You know, it takes a lot of guts to tell a Legendary Pokemon no like a naughty dog.

[Armin is still a little dazed, as if he is trying to process just what he just saw.]

I wasn't really thinking, to be honest. My friend has an Aron [Actually, he has an Aggron by now, but you know, dazed.] and we all got used to chasing him away from anything metal.

[They still lost a lot of spoons though.]

That-- That really was what I think it was, wasn't it?

It sure looks like it was. [Jane tilts her head a little, eyes narrowing.] Boy, that one sure does love to rain on everyone's parade, huh?

I never thought I'd see one...

[Though it is slowly starting to sink in.]

... I'm not sure what it wanted with our kettle though.

[Not that it can't have it. Armin will happily buy it a ton of kettles if it means seeing it again. A kettle seems a small price to pay for seeing something most humans have never seen before.]

...Huh.

[She props her chin in her hand.] Honestly, I couldn't tell you. What use does a Pokemon have for a kettle, anyway?

In Aron's case, it enjoys eating them. I'm not sure if that is going to apply here.

Then again, we don't know a lot about them. It is probably best not to draw too hasty a conclusion.

...Okay, well...why does Aron like eating them? I don't have one, so I can't say I could hazard a guess - but if we know that, we might be able to deduce something about this kettle thief.

Aron is a steel type. Apparently things like kettles and spoons are rather like candy to it. My friend's Aron started eating a lot of steel right before it was ready to evolve. I imagine evolving into a different species is quite energy intense, so I suppose it eating so much steel beforehand is a bit like a caterpillar devouring everything it can see before creating a cocoon?

Of course I've never heard of a legendary pokemon that evolves...

Neither have I. But...well, what type is that one? It's...Suicune, right? And it seems to be associated with the water, based on what happened...

Maybe it just took the kettle to screw around.

Maybe. One of my pokemon always tries to steal small items belonging to my friend, but that is because she sees him as an enemy of hers.

[It's complicated, and mostly comes down to the fact that Jean is a dick. One of Armin's best friends, yes, but also a dick sometimes.]

I hope it's nothing like that...

I would think running off with your belongings is a pretty strong reaction to being told "no"...so, I'll be hoping with you, then.

I hope I didn't offend it. I wasn't really thinking when I said that.

[Seriously, he's all for Suicune keeping them tea kettle. It's not like he exactly want to make enemies with a god in pokemon form.]

Well...hmm. That I can't say. Only it can tell you its feelings on it. But I'm sure if it comes by again, and you explain the situation, it will be reasonable about it. It's got to be!
