☆75☆ [Video]
[Today's video comes courtesy not of Ryner, but of Rose, his Clefairy, sporting her usual rose earclip and a warm, fluffy scarf, bright pink with some little glittery silver dots of embroidery on there.
She waves at the camera, and... well, usually she'd have signs, but she's got a certain intended audience today (and maybe doesn't want to leave behind physical evidence), so she'll just be talking in Pokespeak.]
Hi! I'm Rose, and I've got a question for all of the other Pokemon out there.
See, Mister Sion - one of my dear partner's best person friends - he's really sad. Really, really sad. And apparently he's scared of a fake that I think lives inside his head the same way my dear partner has one that he said isn't there anymore, even though he shouldn't be afraid of any fakes. If any fakes showed up, they'd have to get past all of us first! The fake wouldn't stand a chance!
[...Rose looks very proud of herself, even though she really has no idea how little she understands the situation.]
But he doesn't get that he has nothing to worry about, and so he's scared and sad, and hitting him to distract him doesn't work the same way that it does with my dear partner, and besides I've been told not to? So I want to know how to make him not sad anymore. Because he shouldn't be sad.
How would you do it? Do you have something you do to help your trainers not be sad anymore when they are?

Who's Lance and the champion dragons?
[She chews on her lip briefly, not exactly sure how to explain changlings to a pokemon... a fairy pokemon at that. Or if she should... "There's these fairies that steal humans..."]
Hum... well... sometimes people are just... sad because they're sad... like... something inside of them is just really hurt. It's not anything other people do but... it's like something in their head that's ... working not right.
One of my uncles is like that. He had something horrible happen to him and now he's just really... sad and has trouble being with people.
[Mostly because something horrible, like torture and other fun things leeching at his soul trying to devour it by one of the evilest things in Ceilidh's world, happened to him for about forty years...]

Lance is the Champion of the Elite Four, and his partners are a lot of dragons! They're really tough, but we battled them and won. And there were six of them. So one fake wouldn't stand a chance against all of us!
[...Rose please...
She does headtilt (so much as a pink thing can) with some concern at mention of the uncle, though.]
Your uncle was hurt, and now he's sad too?
no subject
[She has no idea what that means. She's guessing dragon type pokemon... from the term partners.]
But would you be able to tell the fake from the real one?
[Aww... now the hard part. It's hard talking about her uncle Dara. It's complicate so much and hurt her family so much.]
Yes. He wasn't physically hurt but ... well... I mean... he was physically hurt and he was hurt in his heart and his soul... and now its hard for him to find things to be happy about because all the bad memories keep on taking over. Like a shadow over the happiness.

The story about your uncle makes her frown though.]
That's awful! Is there any way to keep the bad memories away?
no subject
[This is probably a pointless argument here one that Ceilidh can't really win. No one back home has ever been switched for a changling that she knows but only because there are a serious amount of treaties involved. Also, even the fey would get kinda wigged out with a huge flock of ravens, crows and magpies just staring at them, following them. Watching them. Just. Watching. Knowing. Seeing.
And letting her family know which would end in pain for the fey.]
No. Not really. He tries. We try. Removing them would be bad.

From what my dear partner has said, Mister Sion's fake has tried to really hurt him. He doesn't try to hide it. Everyone would know.
[She seems very sure about this.
As for your uncle, though.]
I guess if he completely forgot then he wouldn't remember to stay away from what hurt him...
no subject
Well... if they're inside Sion's head then it'll be kinda hard to fight them. Or find them.
[She gives a brief, brittle, smile.]
Fortunately the thing that hurt him doesn't exist any more. But taking people's memories away is dangerous. Memories make a person and if you take them away they can become someone else.
no subject
If the fake never comes, then we'll never have to. And if he does come, he'll be obvious and we won't have to find him.
I guess anyone would be different if they didn't remember anything bad... But what about making more good memories? So they can keep the bad ones from taking over as much.
no subject
So, yes. Mad. Or buggerfucking nuts.]
I suppose so.
We are trying to make more good memories. I make sure he doesn't stay inside all the time because that's bad. He needs sunshine and happy things like kittens.
no subject
Even if Rose knows less than she thinks she does.
...She does seem to latch onto the idea of kittens quickly, though.]
...You know, there haven't been any new eggs around in a while...
no subject
She blinks for a moment thinking that Rose was talking about her Uncle Dara but then realizes that she's talking about Sion. Hatching kittens is a bit... odd in her head still.
It probably always will be.]
Okay...?
no subject
Maybe that'll help. There'll definitely be a breeder with eggs that'll work somewhere!
no subject
A unicorn that's on fire!? That's a thousand times better.]
Oh. Sure. That can't hurt.
no subject
...Hey, do you think a Meowth would be better, or a Purrloin?
no subject
Um... Purrloin?
[She doesn't know the pokemon types very well but she likes the name Purrloin, so she's going with that.]
You know, Princess She Who Devours the Darkness in People's Souls and I could come over and help, maybe. Sion was nice to me when I first got here and all. I wouldn't mind trying to help him.
no subject
Yeah! That would be good! And even better if you two know each other a little!
no subject
Cool!
Where are you?
