[There's a little girl in semi tattered clothing looking at the screen. She's not sure what's going on so she's settled for looking serious. No she's not scared at all, you're imaging things. It took her a while to figure out how this thing worked but she thinks she has a way to talk to people now. Just going to be calm and serious here.]

I'm looking for a spaceship. We must have crashed and I think some lady took me off it when I was asleep. Only she wouldn't tell me where she took my friends and then kicked me out of her house. So they might still be on the ship. Only, two of them are hurt really bad so I need to find them before anyone tries to take them out of their pods without Ripley there.

[There's a small pause.]

Also my name's Newt, and it's not my birthday. I think there's something wrong with that lady and the weird machine she gave me. It says I'm ten, but I'm not....not yet.

.....and there's a weird animal that won't stop following me. They don't seem mean, but I don't know what they want.

[At that a Growlithe appears behind her, looking at the screen. Newt has been adopted and she doesn't even know it yet.]

But it was pretty big. I had to change a lot to survive that.

Eh, that one's more complicated.

Because like...some things suck. Some things really are the absolute worst.

But as long as you survive there's a chance things can improve and maybe be OK again someday.

...but that someday could be a long damn way away so it doesn't exactly make you feel better to hear it right then and there right?

[There's a small pause as Newt thinks that over.]

Only if you survive though.

You shouldn't promise everything will be fine, when everyone is dying. ...even if you're trying to not to scare someone.

[It can mentally scar your daughter and make her sort of hate you but not, because you promised]

Ah. Yeah alright I'll agree to that.

You really have had it rough haven't you? Guess that means you're gonna do great around here. This world is no where near that scary...most the time.

But now I totally owe you that ice cream.

I don't think anywhere could be that scary.

Maybe we can meet in the future. I'd like to meet people who aren't just on a screen.
