[Quite frankly, Botan is way too embarrassed to show her face for the post. She tries typing something long, then something medium, then all that comes out for a moment is:]

HELP.

[>deleted message]

Sorry, Botan here--what I meant to write was I need some help.

Er.

Not quite sure how to phrase this, though. I have one breeder-specific question and one general question.

Do we have a Breeders Union? For trading around and borrowing Pokemon and such. If not, we should, I know there's a lot more of us around than before.

And in general, anybody out there interested in looking at some Pokemon up for adoption? I've been trying to hang onto these for my friends for
[...] a bit, but I can't quite handle it anymore. I don't have the space and I don't do much traveling or battling, so I'm not serving them well enough as a trainer.

[FILE ATTCH: pokemom.txt]

Don't mind their levels, I really couldn't care less if you're some master trainer or not, as long as you're ready and willing to care for a displaced Pokemon.

[...]

That's all, thanks

A breeder's union would be quite handy. I would be more than happy to help you organize such a thing.

And I would also be more than happy to take on a few of the Pokemon you are looking to rehome. I have more than enough space right now and always have Pokemon coming and going as it is.

Hi Miss Botan!

[She's yelling into the gear because EXCITEMENT and reading drives her nuts so to hell with text.]

I could take a couple! I need to rebuild my roster and could use the help if they don't mind coming to live with me.

If a Breeders' Union does exist, could you please suggest that they organize another breeder's convention? The previous one was a wonderful opportunity to be and sell eggs, but it was so long ago...

I don't believe there is an official Union but there absolutely should be. Something like an inter-library loan system, except with Pokémon, where breeders can request to borrow from other breeders to expand their stock options.

Near the Goldenrod Breeding Center, five years ago. Both breeders and interested trainers were invited to participate and sell their wares, and they came in great numbers. I knew people who bought more than ten eggs during those days.

[So many eggs. Too many eggs.]

We really do need some kind of centralized communication hub. Or at the very least a known list of other breeders and Pokémon available for loan.

[Also he likes that idea because, for Reasons, he kind of... doesn't want his own Ditto. A temporary Ditto is about all he's got in him.]

The issue would be keeping it up-to-date.

It's quite surprising that one doesn't exist yet, though perhaps there is a lot of bureaucratic red tape that has prevented its creation. Still, I think it's something worth pursuing, and it would be a great resource for breeders to learn from each other, as well as about different kinds of pokemon.

There also needs to be a registry, not only of current breeders but pokemon bloodlines. The entire breeding aspect isn't very well managed from a centralised point of view.

I'd be happy to assist you in caring for some of those pokemon though.

How about Voltorbs.

Tell me you'd take in Voltorbs.

There is no need to apologize at all, Miss Botan.

I know quite a few of my companions would love to get out and travel some so I could definitely contribute to a Breeder's Union! As I said, if you need help getting the foundation built I would be more than happy to help you gather up information on all the current breeders in this world and what Pokemon of theirs that are interested in taking part.

I believe I saw someone mention a breeder's convention down below. Has something of that nature happened before?

[Ivy remembers Botan. She bought her very handsome shiny Lapras from the woman.]

I agree with the statements above. A Union sounds like a wonderful idea with avenues we could explore.

Perhaps opening a forum to collect out thoughts and ideas, as well as a quick and easy means of contact should be our first step?

As for your overcrowding problem, I'm located in an area with a large amount of space and would be happy to take couple off your hands.

I'm not home at the moment but if you want to send Marlin to my PC, I can have someone in Olivine let him out so he can join the Squad.

[While normally he'd be excited at the prospect of adding to the Squad and taking on another of his favorite Pokemon...the past few days have kind of sucked. So please excused how tired he looks, Botan.]

I've got a few other Gyarados that were left with me by people that left so he'll have company in that sense.

[Hermione frowns thinking.]

Well, I think it's important to keep track of pokemon lineage, I mean, otherwise how do you know the background of where your pokemon came from or which pokemon have been bred? It's also useful for other people looking to buy eggs from breeders as they can see the where the genetics come from and if there could be any hereditary problems.

Also, regarding a Breeder central management business, I think if it's managed by a committee of breeders, there wouldn't be an issue when people left. The committee could simply vote for a new member to take their place.

Not only would it mean that all breeders can be registered but also their pokemon available for breeding. Then people can directly contact a breeder asking if they have a specific pokemon available or if they could be put on a waiting list of some sort. The committee could also look at breeder conferences or conventions where breeders could get together to discuss learnings or new research.

Really, if that's all that's preventing it from happening, then that's not an impossible hurdle.

[Hermione blinks and then blushes at the praise. It didn't sound sarcastic.]

Oh um, thank you? I just..read a lot and like to study.

I'm happy to take some of the eeveelutions, a Meowstic and Froslass off your hands? At the moment I probably don't have capacity to care for any more, I'm sorry...
