You know what would be super nice? If everything wasn't actually a Pokemon here. I don't get it. How does this work, at all? What.. what happened in this world that this--

[ The camera whips around, focusing on a Trubbish at his feet, weeds growing wildly off its head. It stares up at Yuri with innocent eyes. A shiny, of course. Of course, it was a shiny because Yuri couldn't be blessed with an actual good shiny, could he?

Still, shinys were rare so Yuri could hardly complain about that but IT WAS A TRUBBISH, OKAY. ]

All I wanted to do was throw out a faulty Pokeball and this is what I get. A sentient bag of trash that is not only a literal bag of trash that has eyes, a mouth and won't stop following me but is also apparently a SPECIAL sentient bag of trash!

[ Chris the Servine wasn't going to let the camera be focusing around with draping herself dramatically over Hefty who was red in the face at her sudden appearance. She puts a little hand to her chest, tail lifting so you could see her flowers well enough. Yes, look at her, were we taking photos?

Nita the Maractus was there a moment later, with Erosdon the Rowlett perched on her head and Leroy the Oddish bouncing after her. It was picture time! Pictures with the new friend! Honorary Green Group member! Look at them, LOOK AT THEM--YURI, DON'T YOU TURN THE CAMERA AWAY--!! ]

At least it's a poison type, I kind of needed one anyway and it's not like--HEY!!

[ Yuri was suddenly mobbed, feathers flying and petals and leaves, his Pokemon trying to all get into the picture to show off. Look at their new friend! Look--And the gear goes flying, flipping around and landing on the ground. With a perfect view of Yuri being mobbed. ]

[ Oh? OH? SHE HEARD LAUGHING! Nita whips around and then hops over, peering down into the gear. She waves both her branches and then starts dancing for Vanitas. Look, it's Nita!

The others were starting to come over in interest and soon Vanitas would be subjected to a group shimmy.

That's what you get. Adorable dancing. Do you feel punished? ]

[Honestly that's just going to get him laughing more--in part because he's still thoroughly amused that Yuri caught a shiny garbage Pokemon and also because this is kind of adorable even if he'll never say it out loud.

And of course, the commotion draws the attention of a certain someone and before Vanitas can get himself under control, Quickstep pops up into view on his lap, beaming happily and dancing about.

[ QUICKSTEP! Her love, her joy, her reason for being!

Nita picks up the gear and twirls around, giggling happily at the sight of him. This was definitely the best day! A new friend and she was getting to see Quickstep!!

And of course, Yuri couldn't very well take the gear from her when it was her boyfriend on the other end so he just gingerly picks her up to get the gear at face level. ]

What are YOU laughing about?!

[HELLO LIGHT OF HIS LIFE!!!! Oh darling it's so good to see you he hopes you're doing alright!!!

Quickstep shimmies happily at the sight of his lady love, shaking his arms about happily to music that isn't really playing but he can definitely hear it! It's the music of the soul!

Vanitas, meanwhile, just gives Yuri a big grin.]

Nothing at all~ Why would I be laughing at your shiny new pile of garbage?

[ Of course she was doing alright! She had a team of dancers now! She was spreading the love and--Oooh! She was flying!! She giggles and jiggles in Yuri's arms, delighted at the sudden new perspective of the world~!

Somehow, they were dancing to the same tune. The beautiful tune of love, laughter and life! ]

Because it's literally a shiny pile of garbage! Of course you'd laugh at it! Well, joke's on you, it's sleeping in YOUR bed when I get back!

[He's so glad to hear that, beautiful! He's been having a fine adventure himself but he cannot wait to get his arms around you and dance to the beat of life with you once more!!]

Oh like hell it is! That pile of garbage is all yours, your highness! I want nothing to do with cuddling it late at night. Plus, you're the one that prefers Pokemon cuddling to human cuddling, remember?

[ This was so weird. How were they dancing in time with one another without even trying? ]

Oh no no, I'm going to make sure it leaves all its love and affection deep in the mattress on your side and hug your pillow all night so when your head finally hits it you can't help but smell it!

[ This was so insulting. Hefty was staring up at Yuri with big sad eyes. But why, Master? ]

Look now you made it cry.

[ Yuri turns the camera weirdly, so Nita was still in range but you could sort of see Hefty in the background. ]

I didn't do anything! You're the one saying shit about it!

[Vanitas just rolls his eyes and shifts Quickstep out of the way a bit so he can lean in better.]

Hey, little trash bag. Don't listen to Yuri. He's just a priss and he'll get over it, okay? You're gorgeous.

[Not really but Vani can be convincing when he wants to be.]

You started it! Don't let him lie to you, Hefty!!

[ Hefty was so confused, which person was he supposed to be not listening to?! He puts his little garbage hands to his bag head, looking between them. ]

Hey, don't flirt with my garbage bag!! I loved him first!

[ Yuri picks up Hefty and hugs him close, dramatically. ]

He can't be your best friend if he's already mine!!

[And that gets Vanitas snickering, looking quite smug.]

See? I knew you'd like him if you just gave the garbage bag a chance.

[ How dare you insinuate he didn't like Hefty! He. ... Oh. Oh god, gross. He holds the Trubbish away from his face, giving him a sour look. ]

Wow.. Wow you stink. I need to take Cissy's advice.

[ Yuri had freed himself from his 'mons. He was a little grouchy about this being the person replying but... whatever. He was getting used to Jack popping up in random places. ]

On the one hand...Trubbish. On the other, I'm liking this trend of having a bunch of Pokemon named after me!

And I haven't even named any of'em.

Oh, ew gross, then definitely not. I mean, I already wasn't going to because it'd be such an insult to the Trubbish.

[ Not that Hefty wasn't a literal insult... ]

Oh yeah, sure, your magic garbage would be super insulted to be named after a successful space emperor turned family man. Yup.

What I heard is 'annoying asshole who thinks he's better than he is'. Hefty doesn't think he's better than anyone, isn't that right, you stupid bag of garbage?

[ Master noticed Hefty!! Hefty was delighted. ]

[ Hefty was going to cry. Yuri glances down at him. ]

No, it's really not. I've had one stalking me since I got here. They're a mockery of nature.

I mean plenty of stuff here is, but...seriously. Garbage?

There's shit like keys or whatever too. Apparently there's a coffin one? Oh, or just the balls of slime. I feel like at least Trubbish can keep it's shit together.

Oh yeah, there's a coffin. One of my girls had one of those. My partner's got a friggin sword. a living sword! oh, and i got one of those that's living computer code.

You're too old to know what to do with a computer Pokemon. I mean, you're clearly senile considering you're still talking to me even though I called you trash like four times.

Are you kidding me? I'm a friggin certified computer genius. Programming and coding - we're talking down to the lowest levels. I think in binary. I've designed programs nobody else was even dreaming of yet, security nobody can crack, AIs that develop sentience and feelings. I'm pretty much the best, actually.

[Cissnei is smiling though it's almost a grin as she replies to the post, a shiny Spearow perched on her shoulder preening itself.]

I've heard they're actually quite useful once you train them properly. And if you needed a poison type anyway...well, it could be worse.

[ Yuri pushes a hungry looking Purrloin out of the way, so he could be picked up by Nita and danced with. That was a nice looking Spearow! ]

Yeah, I'm going to make it amazing! And.. well I guess I'd rather this than a Grimer or.. or worse, a Koffing!

[ That was rude, but Yuri also liked being able to breathe. ]

[Rekka doesn't even give the Purrloin a glance, clearly not worried. Feline she would wreck you.]

I did~ And here I was about to head out exploring. Glad I lingered in the city for another day.

[She reached up to stroke the Spearow's head and the bird cooed happily, turning her head to preen Cissnei's hair in return.]

Grimer and Koffing aren't that bad. They have their charms just like Trubbish does.

[ Pod was always hungry looking.. and honestly.. yeah, he was a terrible hunter. He accepts being danced with, Nita trying to help him stand on his back legs. ]

Good thing, can't let some other trainer catch something that cool!

[ He side eyes the Trubbish. ]

...I mean, I guess it's a special coloration and stuff too.

[Cissnei smiles encouragingly.]

With some training I have a feeling that Trubbish is going to be a worthwhile member of your team, Yuri. Worse come to worse you can try feeding it things to make it smell better if it does become an issue.

[She has faith that you'll be fine, kiddo.]

Have you decided on a name yet?

Maybe. I'll have to see what it can eat that will change it's smell. Maybe it can smell like cucumbers or something after awhile and freak everyone out.

[ Hefty would be determined. It would eat all the flowers. Zorya would probably help. Vesna would probably be bald. ]

I figured Hefty would work. Like the trash bags back home. He looks like their big ones.

[ Not.. the best name. ]

I've heard that dryer sheets can help make garbage smell less like garbage. Might be worth a shot if your friend likes the taste of them.

[Cissnei's smile turns into a grin.]

Hefty. It's fitting, especially if he's able to hold his own in battle.

Maybe. I should give it a try. Even if he doesn't like it I'll make him eat it.

[ Hefty looked a little fearful at the look Yuri was giving him. What do you mean, MAKE him eat it?! ]

Of course he's going to be able to hold his own in battle! He's going to be amazing by the time I"m done with him!

I did not realise such Pokemon could be found in the wild... the only 'shiny' Pokemon I have seen were acquired from eggs, left by God.

Left by...? Oh. Um..

[ This was awkward. Yuri, do not knee-jerk respond. ]

Y-yeah, looks so! Apparently they're just super rare. Probably because different colorations and stuff mean.. I mean, back in my world if something was colored wrong in the wild predators could get to it easier?

[ They appeared out of nowhere, containing creatures that were unique even to this world's standards. How could they not be a divine blessing? He recognised that Yuri was uncomfortable about what he'd said but just tucked the knowledge away for later. ]

I suppose it depends on how the coloring differs. Claudia's is noticeable but not that dramatically different, so I do not think it would impend her much in the wild.

[ Look, it was nothing to do with... look. Yuri just worried. IT was a fair thing to worry about wasn't it? Maybe? He didn't know. ]

Yeah, I mean.. Maybe its the fact that they practically sparkle or whatever. Just .. glitter their way across the world. But have you seen some of them though? Some are like, neon rainbow beasts!

I have not seen many. The most striking I can think of would be the Riolu and Lucario evolution line. But they are a deep blue in colour naturally, which I would not think hides them from prey or predators well.

[ He reflected for a moment ] That could be a factor in their rarity. That they simply do not survive well in the wild.

Or it's just one of those weird things. Like, sometimes cats have extra toes and stuff? It's kind of rare. Or like, sometimes you get an albino crow or something.

[ Look, Yuri had no idea. They all had crazy powers so he wasn't sure how much the predator/prey relationship was affected. ]

Maybe it is a little of both. [ He didn't claim to know much about it either. ]
