[Unfortunately for the current residents of Johto, they might be unfortunate enough to find what might be one of the worst video feeds ever on the network. It seems to cut in and out at first, and even after it manages to stay on for longer than ten seconds, the video is really just... the world spinning endlessly. Ground, leaves, sky, ground, leaves, sky -- Occasionally a tree is visible for half a second and the direction of movement seems to change, but other than that, it's an endless loop of ground-leaves-sky.

It might eventually be obvious that the camera appears to be attached to something that is rolling quickly down a hill. It probably helps that the entire feed is accompanied by the sound of what's clearly a Pokémon "hooting" over and over - rather excitedly, at that - and a voice somewhere in the distance. Pay close enough attention and the words being yelled out are things along the lines of--]

Wait!! Come back!! Just-- Spread your wings and stop rolling already!!

[Does that sound like a new trainer in need of help? That's probably because that's more less exactly what it is.]

[Kerberos chatters even more, pushing the gear at Matt. He just knows that this new trainer with the rolling friend is important.

Matt just runs a hand through his messy hair, sitting up and squinting. Sounds like Pidge, but... he doesn't have that good of luck.]

Come on, Kerberos, I didn't get to bed until a stupid time. Will you please quit chattering at me about some trainer on the gear?

[Okay, she may be exhausted but that time it really sounded like Matt. So despite Rowlet's attempts to keep the 'gear away from her, Pidge finally manages to snatch it back and quickly checks the device--

And almost immediately, her suspicion is confirmed.]

Matt? Is that you?

He's a nerd. What can I say?

[Oh! Well that wakes him up. He grabs the gear, and blinks blearily at it, a huge grin crossing his face.]

Pidge! You're here! Where are you? Is someone coming to get you? I can, if I can find Katie and my pants and wake up a bit, but knowing Shiro, he's already on his way.

[Why yes, Pidge. Your brother never changes.]

never change, nerd boy :3

[pidge_out]

[Pidge has to grin at him, relaxing back a bit into where she's seated herself while waiting.]

Yeah, I'm here. Shiro's coming to get me and bring me up to speed on- [She gestures a hand vaguely at her surroundings and at the Rowlet on her head.] -what's going on around here.

[Then she quirks an eyebrow at him slightly.] Who's Katie?

Nevahhhhh.

[Before Matt can say anything, a Pidgey flies up, and sits on his shoulder curiously, trilling a greeting to Rowlet.]

You mean other than the best little sister in any universe?

[He smirks for a moment, and then points to his shoulder.]

My Pidgey. I thought it was a good name.

[pidge_out]

[Her jaw kind of... drops slightly, eyes wide.]

Wait-- What?

[And her gaze shifts over to this... 'Pidgey' creature, still wide-eyed.] That's... called a "Pidgey"? Seriously?

Yup. They're all over in the right places. When you get here, I'll introduce you to the entire crew. I have... a few now. Different ones. I've got an abominal snowman, a ghost that likes to hide in a costume, a meteor that Shiro gave me, ummm. Oh, and you might have seen Kerberos. He was my first.

[He's rambling, tired, but obviously so very happy.]

Shiro'll bring you back here, and we'll show you the island. Keith and Lance and Hunk are here, but Keith hasn't even found the Blue Lion yet, so he's confused as heck.

[She's just staring for a moment. It's very, very clear that Matt is still a little out of it, but it's... actually really good to see. It's been a long time since she's seen her loved ones looking so relaxed-- being so relaxed that sleeping in until the afternoon is no big deal. Pidge has gotten so used to constant emergencies, work to be done, planets to liberate...

It's really nice to see Matt behaving like a normal human his age. She has to smile a little at the thought.]

Shiro mentioned that. He said that everyone remembers different things from different times. [Her lips quirk slightly to one side, clearly a bit bothered by the whole thing.] Like we've all been pulled out of different positions on a timeline.
