001 video/action
[All you can see is feet moving back and forth across grass, the occasional blip of an Eevee popping up on the screen. When the screen finally stops, a sigh could be heard, the view changing from the grass to the face of a rather confused looking kid.]
Okay. Remain calm, Dipper. This isn't California, or Gravity Falls, and this cat thing isn't in your imagination.
[It takes a moment for Dipper to realize that his device is recording him. Deep breath.]
If there's anyone out there who can hear me, my name is Dipper Pines! I think I'm stuck in some sort of video game dimension, and these things called Pokémon are what I'm supposed to battle with! Also, if you see or have met a girl named Mabel Pines, she's my sister. Long brown hair, headband, braces, and really friendly.
[He looks down at the Eevee beside him, mumbling to himself.]
I'm either stuck in a game or I really need to get some sleep....
[Anyone in the area will see Dipper after the broadcast sitting on the ground with his new little friend flipping through the Trainer's Handbook. Seems he's rather intent on finding out everything he can about his current situation.]

[ That seems like the most important message - at least Basch is using video. He pauses, before: ]
You speak of a video game dimension - a foreign concept. Though this is a land of Pokemon and conflict...
video;
What kind of place are you from where there's no video games? That stuff is everywhere.

Aw, where's your Lamby, zura?
[He can see he's gained an Eevee, however. Cute.]

[So, not the vanished friend she would've chosen to make a reappearance.]
[But right now? She doesn't care.]
Oh my gosh, I missed you so much! Are you back in New Bark Town? So much happened while you were gone, but I've been taking care of your Rioulu! I don't know about the rest of your Pokémon, sorry.
[And what Dipper's actually saying catching up in three, two...]
...Are you okay? You sound a little confused.
[Vidya]
Dipper looks even more confused now.]
.... Do I know you?
[She doesn't look like any of the girls from the road trip, or anyone who's visited his grunkle's curio shop....]

Um, yeah, it's a lot like a video game! No one's really confirmed that exactly but... it definitely explains the background music? It's pretty real though too!
Can't say I've met anyone like that though...
Really? That's- [......... now he notices the music..... sorry, he's distracted now...... Can you turn it off?]

Awww, he doesn't remember. Oh well.]
Before I say anything, are you willing to hear me out rather than jumping off onto your own conclusions? Because this is a doozy.

Depends. Is it stranger than being stuck in a video game?

[So instead of being annoyed, they smile and wave to Dipper when they turn on the feed.]
Hi there! Um, I didn't see your sister nowhere, but this is Johto! An' you don't gotta FIGHT, you can just use MERCY an' make friends instead!

Nah, you're stuck on the weirdest planet in the universe. Also, literally everybody can hear you.
So, I've just gotta ask...how old are you?
Video
Everybody?
[Sounds perfect. Would make Mabel easier to find.
The question though...]
Why are you asking?

Hello there - Dipper, was it? My name is Jane. You're going to be fine, alright? You...are in a video game, sort of? There seem to be some video game logistics in this place, but overall it's very lively too, so this could be just some strange world. The important thing is to stay calm. And trust me - if your sister is here, then she can't be too far from where you are. I haven't been here long, but I haven't seen or met anyone named Mabel with that description, so...it's possible she's in New Bark Town, same as you.
I can stay calm. After all, if it's a video game and we're training these creatures to fight, that means I can't die! [Right?] I'm gonna stay here in town till I can make sure if she is or isn't here. That shouldn't take too long.

Just you wait, Princess Fluffball! It'll be just you and me and this weird book against the entire world! I think you and me are going to make an awesome team! I can't wait to get started!

Hiiiii, Dipper! I'm Yotsuba! And this is Cicada-chan!
[Suddenly pressed towards the camera is a HUGE FREAKING BUG. The nincada buzzes and waves an arm.]
Is that your pokemon?
H-Hi. [Whoa. That is a huge bug! Nowhere near the size of the biggest one he's seen when he got shrunk that one time, but still up there size wise!
Being as short as he was, his Eevee makes shirt work of climbing on Dippers shoulder.]
Yeah. It's an Eevee.

I'll keep an eye out for this Mabel, but as for the game... Well, some things do run on game logic. Music should be a big tip-off...
But it's not just a bunch of pixels and bytes.

The music is driving me crazy! And I found Mabel. She... ran off again. Great.

Book club? Depends. Are there books that come in a set of three that can be used to summon a nightmare demon from another dimension that wants to do nothing more than take over the world and use it as a non-stop inter-dimensional rave party?

I can't think of a time when sleep didn't do some good, but I'm afraid it's not going to solve your problem here, either. Are you alright? It looks like you've got a little friend there to help you out.
Tyrone's pretty good company. A lot better than Princess Fluffball.
[The screen moves up to show Dipper again.] But don't tell Mabel I said that!
