Greetings. My name is Dr. Egon Spengler. I am looking for participants in a study regarding Psychic Pokémon, particularly telepathic Pokémon, and the effects of their powers on human beings. Participants must be:

• At least 18 years old
  
• Willing to subject themselves to extremely powerful waves of psychokinetic energy
  
• Must currently be human
  
• Must not be deceased or undead in any way
  
• Must not have severe reactions to electric shocks
  
• Must not be pregnant or planning on bearing children in the next five years
  
• Must not be associated with any currently operating law enforcement agency
  
• Previous experience with the Psychic Pokémon is appreciated but not necessary

Participating in this experiment may or may not result in severe to lethal brain trauma or other unspecified side effects. Taking certain medication may alter the results of this experiment. There will be no material compensation beyond the satisfaction that knowledge has been furthered in the name of science. ... Yeah that sounds like a great idea. I love Sig, but it was exhausting to try to prevent her from erasing all the important memories I have.

[Hey, one of the brain loves Ray! The other is going through a phase. That comment makes Egon perk up.]

Oh? You managed to interact with her regarding your memories? Tell me, what was the experience like? I only was able to interact with her right after she hatched — I'm assuming her powers have strengthened as she has matured.

[Ray rubs his head, suddenly looking really confused.]

You know... I don't really remember what it was like? It's kind of weird.

[Egon blinks.]

Fascinating. Do you think Sigourney could have erased your memories of the incident for some reason or another?

[He sounds way too excited for someone who found out his boyfriend's memories may have been erased.]

I'm afraid that's probably what happened. I guess I'm glad that I'm pretty sure she didn't erase anything important, but I hate not knowing what exactly she wanted to erase.

I'm... pretty sure I was angry, at least.

Intriguing. Sigourney likely tapped into this anger and assumed that whatever memory was being created was not good, and thus decided to eliminate it before things turned sour. Or when things turned sour.

[He pauses for a moment, contemplating this for a moment.]

Oh, this is quite bad.

[Ray groans and leans up against Egon.]

You can say that again. I love Sig and I know she means well but I don't like the idea of forgetting everything whenever I'm not happy. I just wish there was a good way to tell her that.

It doesn't help that I feel like Venkman told me something important just before she erased my memory. But for the life of me I can't remember what it was.

Perhaps explaining that even trying to remove bad feelings sometimes results in people being more hurt might get her to stop. Though I am unsure if she has developed a sense of empathy for this to work.

[He rubs the back of his neck, frowning.]

I could...attempt to use Kölliker to communicate with her, but I am unsure if that is wise at this point in time.

Maybe. I feel like I would have told her that already, but I honestly don't know if I did or not.

[He runs a hand through his (still stark white) hair and sighs.]

I knew being a dad would have its ups and downs...

Don't be discouraged. We've faced gods before. Surely, figuring out how to deal with one or two petulant psychic toddlers shouldn't seem difficult in comparison.

[He reaches out to ruffle Ray's hair.]

We just have to tackle it in a different way, I suppose.

[Ray grins and relaxes at that.]

You're right. After all, loads of other people have raised these Pokemon effortlessly! And after Gozer, I'm sure we can handle this.

... I wonder if some parenting books could help us...

We are likely not the first trainers to deal with such problems. I am sure there exist some form of...parenting book that deals with highly intelligent and unpredictable Psychic Pokémon.

[He rubs his thumb against his chin, thinking.]

We could go to the library. It would allow allow Faraday to select some new art books to study.

[ghoststanning]

[Ray stands up suddenly, looking excited.]

Great! We could probably find some different books to see what Sig likes too!

[... And then he promptly sits back down.]

Although we probably should focus on your experiment first, huh?

Nonesense. I've gathered the necessary materials long before I put out the advertisement. I just need to wait for the last few pieces of equipment to be delivered before we can proceed.

[He...may or may not have used up most of his funds for this.]

I'm sure we can expend the time to visit a library.

[ghoststanning]

I can't believe you! You set up a whole experiment without even letting me know? Some partner you are.

[He playfully hits Egon in the shoulder, and his cheery grin makes it obvious that he's not really bothered by it.]

Let's go, then! I need to make it up to Venkie anyway. I can't help but feel like the memory loss was partially my fault.

I haven't set anything up yet. I've just been ordering materials for the past week or so.

[He ruffles Ray's hair again before picking up his bag and slinging it over his shoulder. He digs through the bag for a PokéBall and tosses it out, causing Faraday to appear in a flash of light. She makes grabbing motions towards Egon as he hands her a tiny sketchbook.]

Onwards. Do you think it's worth asking Kölliker for her opinion?

[ghoststanning]

[Ray is just about to take out one of his containment units too before he registers Egon. He frowns slightly as he looks over his shoulder.]

It can't hurt, can it?

[He suddenly looks wistful. He loved reading stories to Ko before she evolved, but he's not sure how much she'd enjoy them now...]

[Egon gives Ray a curt nod as he pulls out Kölliker's containment unit and releases her. Faraday looks somewhat curious — she still hasn't seen Kölliker in her evolved form. What happened to her sister? She makes a questioning sound as she floats over towards her.]

Hi!!!

[...At least she still likes interacting with other Pokémon. Egon frowns, then clears his throat.]

Kölliker, Ray and I were wondering if you'd like to come with us to the library.

[There's a brief pause as the baby thinks this over.]

YEAH!!!!!! [Excited, enthusiastic.]

Can I pick the books I want? [Cautious, tentative.]

...Yes. Yes you can.

[ghoststanning]

Of course you can!

[Ray beams at her and he grabs Egon's hand.]

We should get going then! Before Venkman forgets how to tie his shoes or something.

[Let's go to the fucking library!!!]
