Greetings. My name is Dr. Egon Spengler. I am looking for participants in a study regarding Psychic Pokémon, particularly telepathic Pokémon, and the effects of their powers on human beings. Participants must be:

• At least 18 years old
  
• Willing to subject themselves to extremely powerful waves of psychokinetic energy
  
• Must currently be human
  
• Must not be deceased or undead in any way
  
• Must not have severe reactions to electric shocks
  
• Must not be pregnant or planning on bearing children in the next five years
  
• Must not be associated with any currently operating law enforcement agency
  
• Previous experience with the Psychic Pokémon is appreciated but not necessary

Participating in this experiment may or may not result in severe to lethal brain trauma or other unspecified side effects. Taking certain medication may alter the results of this experiment. There will be no material compensation beyond the satisfaction that knowledge has been furthered in the name of science. By participating in this experiment, you acknowledge all risk associated with the procedure.

I'm afraid that no matter what we do, there is always the possibility that we may be physically or mentally attacked by our Pokémon, either accidentally or on purpose. One of the Pokémon under my care is showing an alarming rate of growth, and I would like to be able to know how to prevent her from digging through my thoughts at every given moment.

I can simply ask her to stop, and she usually complies, but it's more difficult to ask a younger Pokémon to comply. Thus, this is also in preparation for future Psychic Pokémon we may obtain.

asked the locals if this is a thing that happens?
i mean the people here seem pretty chill with buddying up with all these crazy monsters
if these things were THAT dangerous i'm pretty sure there'd be a ton of DO NOT CATCH warnings everywhere about them

Though, to be fair, not many of them seem terribly knowledgeable regarding parapsychology.

like maybe there's not enough psychic pokemon-on-people attacks to warrant that kind of studying
so all of this is just pointless and kinda paranoid talk

But it is still enough of a possibility that we should prepare for it in advance. It would be catastrophic if Psychic Pokémon began to utilize their power against humans while society had little infrastructure to actually deal with these attacks.

That's ridiculous. Zombies are hardly a threat to humanity in the way the media sensationalizes them, and they would hardly cause an apocalypse situation.

Besides, this will help humanity gain a greater understanding for the effects on Psychic-type moves on human beings. Is that not an interesting topic?

[No one EVER points out directly when Egon is being weird, for some reason, so Lena's comment definitely makes him pause for a moment to at least...you know, think over his actions.

Of course, it still doesn't quite get through his thick skull. Maybe that's why he wanted to drill a hole in his head in the first place?]

I disagree with that last statement, however. The pursuit of knowledge is what makes life worthwhile.
