[She echoes Newt's words, a bewildered expression on her face. He has...some thoughts on what's going on here, but she's not entirely willing to share them. Not in front of Newt. She gently grabs Newt's shoulders, looking her square in the eye.]

Newt, do you mind telling me what happened the last time I was here?

[She glances up at the Arcanine, lifting a hand to allow it to sniff.]

Who's this friendly guy?

... Uh.

[Who the fuck is this. Venkman lowers the proton wand and tilts his head, confused.]

Who're you, and why do you know my name?

[He doesn't sheath the proton wand for the time being- the possibility of this being some sort of demon is enough to keep him on his guard.]

[The shock of being spotted is wearing off. After all she knows some people can see ghosts. She's still wary but there's less hostility in her next question. And that first bit seems to be just general annoyance.]

It's hard to be at fault when you can't influence anything.

How do you know about ghosts?

[Lydia will watch again for a second and then nod a hello back. Hello new pokemon.]

"Oh, that's wonderful," Ripley says. "Do you write as well as draw the comic, then?"

She has a respect for artists--they definitely weren't as bogged down in corporate bullshit as she ever was. Maybe in another timeline, she could've gotten out of Weyland-Yutani and run off to become a painter or musician. She crosses her arms.

"What do you mean, supercharged for three days? Does it have to do with the thing that's going on right now with the dimensions?"

[Venkman glances at Sigourney. Sigourney is still going hog wild, her lights strobing as she projects feelings of strong excitement into everyone's minds. Venkman looks back to Ripley.]

Strike one. Ok. Sure. If your name isn't Sigourney Weaver, then is it Dana Barrett or Ellen Ripley?

[He looks like he's about to have a fucking aneurysm.

Roach, meanwhile, slowly moves to sit on the ground. Maybe if he's down here, he'll look less threatening and bad. He chitters a little at the Litten, apologizing for scaring his trainer.]

[Newt nods seriously.]

You were here with a different pokemon. We talked and I showed you around. Then you vanished and so did a lot of the new people here. But people told me that's normal for a weird weekend.

[The Arcanine is still a bit wary with the memory loss but yup. Still important person. You're good. She watches Newt protectively still though.]

This is Ripley. She's my starter pokemon. She was with me when I woke up here. Well she was a Growlithe then but the pokemon here evolve. So now she's an Arcanine and a lot bigger.

[Egon waves at Sigourney, then stares at the device on Venkman's belt, scratching his head.]

The PKE meter looks different, as well. [He pauses, glancing down the hallway and pulling out his own device.] Should we spread out and look? We'll be able to cover more ground that way.

[You know, at this point, he doesn't care if people can understand him or not. He'll take whatever he can get, and he can only be eternally grateful that the first person who didn't turn away is some kinda floaty chick. With a sweet bass.

...It doesn't stop him from talking to her anyway.]

It's about damn time, I was beginning to think no one was gonna pay attention to me at this rate...

[Whether he's acting pathetic for sympathy pets or is really just that pathetic is anyone's guess. Either way, he's going full ham.]

Can't even get a scratch on the head or... [He pauses, opening one of his eyes just to gauge her reaction. Is any of this working?] ...or someone to scoop you up and get you the hell outta here? It's criminal, baby!

Influence depends on the spirit. Some can get pretty nasty towards the living. Some with good reason- like the ghosts here-, some because they're confused, some just because they are nasty.

I'm a Ghostbuster. [He taps the no-ghost patch on his shoulder- it's the edited one, as he's wearing the jumpsuit Ray got him for Valentine's day, so the symbol is over a Pokemon ghost and not the usual white cartoonish one.] It's my job to help deal with the ghosts that cause problems.

[That's definitely the right thing to say to Barbara. Definitely.

Vinz appears a little disappointed by the lack of response, and whines softly. After a moment, he settles down and sits down beside Zuul, still wagging his tail hopefully. Zuul offers her own greetings, and apologizes for the forwardness of her partner- he's just excitable.]

[Amazing. Amazing and gross. Dandy can finally sleep well tonight knowing Ass Rat was truly avenged.

Because this clearly only happened because of that.]

C'mon, Venkman, you don't really mean that. If you die, you're just gonna become some kinda ghost and then you'll really be Slimer~

Around anywhere

[There's one (1) Keith wandering around, a giant wrestling cat at his side and a small Espurr on his shoulder that don't seem to want to let him out of his sight. He's declining challenges as he can because he got tired of beating children the last time he was here. But if you're a new trainer that's older, well. Get ready.

Otherwise, he's sitting enjoying his cat pokemon's company and taking in the scenery again.]

Sevii Islands

[It takes him a few hours, but he grabs a ferry and steps onto the islands surveying the scene. He goes to the island house, knocking on the door.]

Hello? Anyone still here?

If I become a Grimer ghost, I'm exorcising myself. Screw this.

[The comment gives him an idea, though. How far away is Dandy from Venkman? Because if he's within the splash zone, Venkman might just try to... Spread the misery around by lobbing a Sludge Bomb in Dandy's general direction.]

[Dandy can't help but puff up at that, like he's ever done anything stupid in his life!!

...In his deino life!! It hasn't been very long, so he hasn't had any chances to do so yet. Either way, he stands still for the spray, not like he has much of a choice considering he has two dragons keeping him in place.

Although Martini, being the perfect daughter that she is, reassures her trainer the only way she knows how.]

I'll bite his balls off if he tries anything.

[He braces himself for the worst, keeping his eyes on Venkman the entire time. Swear to god if he sprays him in the eyes, he is...probably going to scream!]

"Possible temporal flux too? Neat! Sorry for the confusion, I'm Ray Stantz, a Ghostbusters from an alternate reality. I met a future version of you, or a you from a similar reality, a while back."

The Golurk adjusts his position a bit, and the light from his chest makes Ray's jumpsuit and proton pack a bit more visible.

[Totally the right thing to say and the fact that she looks horrified is a good sign clearly.]

"Deal" with ghosts? Are you some sort of...exorcist, or something?

And what kind of name is that, even?

"Oh I know Nozomi, glad she's found herself a sibling then." Didn't sound like they were blood related since she knew Nozomi was a single child but it was probably a bond of some kind.

"Mako is okay then?"

Pallet Town was a good place to check to see if there were any newcomers, but more importantly to see if there were any confused fourth wallers. It was here that Yayoi rode into town on Rapidash, pulling up and dismounting.

"Seems busy," she remarked, patting her pokemon's flank as she looked around a little.

[Kartana lets out a bunch of angry squeaks, but the hand is pulled from its grasp. The man just stares blankly at Marceline, clearly not amused by the joke. He just extends his arm and says in a deadpan tone:]

Very funny. I would like my hand back, please.

[Kartana, on the other hand, lets out a noise that can only be equated to a squeaky, high-pitched laugh.]

Are all vampires comedians back where you're from?

"Don't worry, it gets easier with time," replied deathkyu as he led the Detective to the coffee shop, and held the door open for him.

There was a lot of clients but he gestured to the barstool where he hopped on up. "Two coffees, how do you take yours?" he asked the Pikachu.

Not usually exorcism. [He shrugs.] In my world, there's a whole lotta demons, demigods and evil spirits crawling around- the "destroy the world" kind. And then there's a shitton of ghosts on top of that; most of those cause problems for people, usually maliciously.

We catch 'em in traps and contain them, most of the time. Though there's always some that can be reasoned with or that can move on to the afterlife. For those, we don't have to resort to the traps- we can help them pass on peacefully, or even live with the living.

[He's... definitely caught on to the fact that she's disgusted by something he's said, though he's not sure why. Right now Venkman's kinda hoping that that last sentence helps dissuade her fears, whatever they are.]

“Yeah, it is.” Sasami said, nodding. She looked up at Yayoi and tilted her head. “You know what’s going on?”

[He is so close enough, and let's be real, totally deserves it.

So when the sludge bomb hits him, it does more than just bring in the hurt. Dandy flops over, only to find himself covered in gunk in the fur he's now realizing will be a pain in the ass to clean. Do these stumps look like they can turn on a faucet?! And his hair! His beautiful hair!

Oh god, why does it smell-]

YOU SON OF A BITCH!! THAT'S IT!! Get ready to become a ghost right here, right now, baby!!

[Getting back onto his feet, Dandy charges Griman, only to...stop a mere inch away. His plan was to headbutt him, but... he doesn't want anymore nastiness ruining his hair...

He opens his mouth to bite, only to realize that's worse than his first idea.

Oh shit, oh fuck.]

Me? [The man takes a moment to think, tearing up a small patch of grass idly between his fingers. He responds slowly and deliberately.] Well, currently, I'm dead.

[He lets that rest in the air for a moment before realizing his error, and quickly moves to amend it.]

I mean undead, as you can see. I don't remember what I did when I was alive. I currently work for a paranormal investigator, though...we do far less investigating than I would expect from this line of work.

...I don't suppose you know what a paranormal investigator is, do you?

[Venkman glances from his PKE Meter to Egon's.]

Man. Another dimensional difference, huh? Or just a reality versus prop thing.

Sure. Call out if you find anything and need backup- I dunno if the Pokegear will send a message right now.

[Now that makes Ripley pause. She holds the Litten a little closer to her body, a wary expression on her face as she tries to read Venkman's intentions. The Litten's ears flatten against his head.]

Ripley. [She says her name in a firm, commanding tone. Her eyes narrow as she takes a small step back.] You're not from the company, are you?

[Clearly not with the way he's dressed, but one can never tell.]
