Right. Yeah, I get it now. We got Exos where I'm from, and they don't look anything like humans outside of how their robot bodies are kinda put together. They wear armor about the same way.
Things are better now than they used to be. A buncha people decided to go be big damn heroes about it. Pack everybody into one place where they could protect 'em with their abilities. Personally, I think they've created themselves a 'fish in a barrel' situation, but we'll see how that turns out.
[Not well, he's already predicting.]

[He leans against the counter as they talk, drumming his fingers on the surface idly.]
The LED on my temple is there to indicate what I am. Androids are required by law to have it. It's easily taken out, but I'm usually human here, so taking it out would hurt.
[He considers it for a moment.]
I'm not human right now, though.

Exos are just people, Brother. Just with more metal and a fun tone of voice.
Do you want it in there now? I mean, could be somethin' to be proud of, could be somethin' to mark you as hated. I'd probably hide it, but that's just me.
[Like he lets anyone see his godforsaken ghost or ever bothers to wear a damned bond.]
no subject
[He touches the LED, considering.]
...I think I'll leave it in for now. I'm not ashamed of what I am, and nobody here has ever bothered me for it. I have no real reason to take it out.
[Back home he'd have to in order to hide himself, but here? He doesn't need to hide.]

Doesn't seem like many people that show up with grudges can do much about 'em. [Which he absolutely revels in. He'd be delighted if certain parties attempted to corner him here and watch how badly that failed.] Even with a glowing beacon on your head you'd be free to be as smug as you please and if I would say so myself, absolutely required to.
Unless you got some secrets you don't wanna have spilled.
[Connor's been on the stranger end of that, though.]
no subject
I have no secrets, but there is someone I wouldn't want to show up. He punched me once because I refused to make him a coffee.
[Because he didn't obey a human.]
no subject
Brother, when someone comes at you, come at 'em twice as hard. He shows up, don't give him the chance to punch you again. [Honestly, Drifter overreacts to violence displayed towards him. But he'd prefer to over-react than underreact. He's not a big fan of the cathartic qualities of revenge. The bad stuff has always lingered. But he has enjoyed the satisfaction of neutralizing an enemy before it can make his life more of a chore.]
no subject
[He couldn't bring himself to kill Reed, however awful he'd been to him. Plus, it would have caused him a lot more trouble. He can still say that he got the last punch in, though.]
no subject
[And he barely, barely stops himself from saying that he'd come down harder on his own potential murderers. Best to not be admitting any homicides here. Doesn't seem like the place that openly welcomes that kind of thing unless you're from a hellpit.]
[But fuck. He could be wrong.]
So, Brother? You got any special android things you get to use while we're all mixed up.
no subject
I have several functions, yes. As an android, I don't need to eat or sleep, and I don't feel pain. I was designed to work with the police, and as an advanced prototype I can use the clues in my surroundings to reconstruct a crime scene in my head. I can also taste something on my tongue and analyse the properties of it, for example blood. I can tell you who the blood belongs to, how old the blood is, and other factors such as if there were any drugs in the victim's body. I can also imitate voices.

[And even if he could, he wouldn't. Currently he feels the Light. But he doesn't feel his ghost and that is fine by him.]
You sound like a high-grade Redjack. You just got more of salesman face and less of a jungle gym look.
no subject
[Connor doesn't know what that is.]
How would you scan things?
[Drifter doesn't look like he has any kind of scanning functions on his body.]
no subject
[Robots that actually dream. What a world.]
Doesn't matter. My scannin' device ain't here and I'm fine without it.
[Which is for the best. Good riddance. He can figure things out with his own two eyes and feel a world better]
