It's always good to have some backup training going, to be honest. I mean, if you come across something that really NEEDS a certain type, you'll be really relieved if you have stuff ready ahead of time!

Hercules, Artemis, and Cú Chulainn [plus Black Bart when she needs to train with her Rocket Infiltration Team] are my usual sparring partners, but I was actually training with Akane this time around! [Connie laughs lightly.] Holy smokes, I'm pretty sure she could even keep up with Garnet from back home. She's amazing!

I just started traveling with her a few days ago, and she's great. I'm a pretty decent combatant myself, but I've only managed to land... like, two hits on her total? Maybe less? She fights circles around me in hand-to-hand.

I mean, I only really do training like this with those two since the rest of my Pokemon are... either not very physically inclined or are more like animals than anything else. Only other ones on two legs, really, is Stone Free who's a leaf bug thing and then Butterball who's more content to use his ridiculous psychic shit, so they're out on this kinda thing.

Also fuck those guys in particular, there ain't no wrong way to train your damn Pokemon as long as you're not torturing them.

[He's super new to this whole physically fighting people himself--vicarious violence is something he's indulged in most of his life, but he'd never actually fought anyone in real life until the fossil heist--but honestly? He's been taking to it like a duck to water.]

He's a Hawlucha. I was trying to find one near Moomoo Farms back during the cookout, but I couldn't. Then Tyler ended up catching one on his way back after he, uh, missed his Ubird and I traded the Pineco I did catch for him.

It's short for El Diablo Verde, one of the greatest wrestlers of all time in my world. He's the heavyweight champion of the EWW and, at least to me, the only one who can compare is El Santo himself.
