[The setting: Violet City. Estinien is near the gym, flanked by his Bronzor and his Vibrava, and his Vulpix draped around his shoulders like a furry scarf, which would be infinitely less tolerable in the late spring heat if she wasn't an ice type. His travel companions might also be lurking in the background.
He glances back at the gym, looking thoughtful. His first gym battle was a success, but there's something he can do now that...he actually needs help with.]
Succeeding in the challenge against the Violet City gym allows one to teach a capable Pokemon to fly, yet it requires a...machine? To do so.
[The question can be heard in his voice, he's really not sure how a machine will help this situation, but...]
Wouldst any in Goldenrod have access to said machine and be willing to allow me use of it? We shall be returning there by the end of the week.

And congratulations on your win, as well.

Be easy on him he doesn't know how this video stuff works. And he's going to make a brave attempt to speak less formally for Tyler's sake.]
Thank you. If there's aught I can do in trade, please say so.
[...okay so trying, yes, succeeding, perhaps not.]

It's not really necessary. HMs, Hidden Machines, have no upper limit to the times they can be used. It's no skin off my back to lend it to you for the minutes it'll take to learn.

Then I shall simply extend my thanks, and contact you when we've arrived.

[Is he happy that Estinien got his badge, or is he just glad that this means they're not too far off? Either way, he seems rather chipper!]
Say, I do know of someone who recently got their hands upon such a machine, a mutual acquaintance of ours, as it turns out.
video;
[Well you're not quite the first because Ziva was there, but...]
...you know everyone's business, do you not...
video;
Yes, your little creatures. Yet you are the one commanding them. It's all the same, regardless. Nevertheless, indeed I do, one must keep up with current affairs if they hope to accomplish aught at all. A skill you could benefit from learning.
Anyroad, Steven has recently obtained such a machine, and with how well the two of you got on...
[He doesn't sound annoyed, you sound annoyed!]
Well, it would stand to reason he may be more than glad to assist you.
video;
As for the comment of 'keeping up with current affairs'...which he does, just not everyone's personal business...he just rolls his eyes.]
Tyler has also offered.
[And...look, just because he can interact with people without immediately pissing them off...]
If others arrive and we should be beholden to go and fetch them, flying would make it simpler. At least we need not travel the length of the map to search out all the aether currents.
video;
[He knew Tyler's Pokémon could fly, but he absolutely had to pull that dick move in volunteering Steven. Openly and publicly.]
Mmm, a purely mortal issue, that. Glad am I all the same that we need not waste such time and energy.
[Who needs aether currents when you can just fly or teleport goddamn anywhere!

... it's true that I did get my Fly HM from Chuck and I'd be more or less pleased to use it to teach your Pokemon the move in question. Unless you'd rather go with Tyler.

But then again, I suppose manners are not something we poor mortals are worthy of.

[He...really doesn't care which of you it is, so long as it gets done. He already has Ideas, Ratatoskr has been glaring at the video feed whenever Solus is on it, and he can sense her quiet loathing.]
Your employment takes up your day, does it not? I know not what Tyler's time is devoted to.
Re: video
[He hadn't always been but... it was kind of a Darkling thing. Even if he was fully human again.]
Tyler used to work longer hours than me, but he's scaled back a lot in preparation for Fight Club.
video
[He knows where the radio tower is now, after all...!]
Fight Club?
Re: video
We're calling it Fight Club as a nod to its true nature--since there's a movie from our world by the same name about these guys who set up a club for people to have fistfights for fun in basements.
[Solus has been pre-banned from the premises.]

That said, I imagine you can find someone with it easily enough, though you can also win it for yourself by defeating another of the gym leaders.
*he has it himself, of course, but being a gym leader means he probably shouldn't offer to teach it to just anyone, or something*

[Estinien shrugs, reaching up to pet the side of Ratatoskr's massive head when she sticks it over his shoulder.]
It makes less sense to me than needing to map out the wind aether of an area, but long since have I given up expecting this world to be anything similar to mine.
Re: Video

[He shrugs.]
Tis as good a use of my time as any. I am ill-suited to remaining idle.
Re: Video
Action;
Action;
[Translated: Yep, it is. He puts his gear back in his pocket and is forced to tilt his head to the side when Ratatoskr shoves her head over his shoulder again and presses her neck against his head affectionately.]
Mayhap I shall be able to continue the challenge after Goldenrod.
