It's prom time, baby

This year, transport arranged by Riegfried and Soy will deliver everyone to the Sevii Islands -- a short trip for some, a longer journey for others. Either way, at around eleven AM, everyone who was interested in joining will have been gathered at a cheery cafe, fully reserved for the event so people have somewhere to sit and wait while the rest arrive. All bags will be taken by the couple's employees immediately upon arrival, with the promise that Trainers will find them waiting for them on the ship.

At eleven, Soy checks a pocket watch, then he addresses the crowd.

"Welcome all! Riegfried and I are so happy to see so many of you here. It heartens us greatly to see you trust us again with the hosting of this event. Please be assured that everything in our power has been done to prevent a repeat of last year's catastrophe, and we've worked closely with the League to ensure that everyone involved in this project is trustworthy. Now, if you'll follow me."

It's just a short trek from the bright little cafe to the ship's mooring. Or such is what all will be told as they walk. Riegfried and Soy lead the possession, coming to a momentary halt as the gathered Trainers crest a small dune. There, they both sweep off their top hats, giving deep and theatrical bows as they gesture towards a small, private bay where not one, not even two, but three airships lay moored along a pier, waiting for everyone to board.






"Welcome to Prom."

THE ITINERARY Inside their rooms, every visitor will find a short itinerary for this prom trip. There is also a small map, which shows the route they will fly to get to the mentioned island. Of course, considering the route is entirely over water, it is not the most useful thing. There is also a second, more useful map, of each of the three ships and where the various amenities can be found. Friday, 12PM - Lift off Saturday, 3PM - Island arrival Sunday, 8PM - Prom Monday, 5PM - Scheduled return Breakfast hours - 7:30AM - 9AM Lunch hours - 12AM - 2PM Dinner hours - 6:30PM - 8PM Small meals and drinks can be requested between these hours! THE FLEET Tyrantic The largest of the three ships, the Tyrantic will be the entertainment centre and hub during this trip. Of the three ships, it’s the only one with a top deck where characters will be able to take in the spectacular view and bask in the sunlight as we travel. Standing at the prow, you’ll really feel on top of the world, watching the ocean pass beneath you! Do mind the railings, please! We wouldn’t want anyone to fall off. Inside, Riegfried and Soy have tried to provide as many amenities as possible within the limited space, including: A small library – For anyone looking for some peace and quiet, this is the place to go. A few large windows let in plenty of natural light, and the shelves are stocked to the brim with various adventure and exploration novels. Leather armchairs are scattered around the room, giving readers a comfortable place to curl up. And when night falls, a variety of lamps bathe the room in a soft, yellow light, mimicking that produced by candles or oil lamps. A bar – Yes, for anyone old enough to drink (and the attendants will be checking!) Riegfried and Soy have provided a small bar with complimentary drinks. Take a seat at one of the small tables, or perch on one of the leather barstools and allow yourself to be poured a scotch. Perhaps you can share a story or two with the other adults hanging out here. A casino – Care to place a little wager? Or sit down for a hand of poker? Perhaps even test your luck at the Wheel? It seems Riegfried and Soy drew some inspiration from the Goldenrod City Game Corner, and have provided everybody with a chance to place some bets. Please note that betting in the casino does cost actual pokebucks, but the House is also rich and generous, so your odds are pretty good. And the attendants will make sure to herd you out before you can lose all your hard-earned cash. Every prom attendant also gets one (1!) complimentary spin on the Wheel for a chance to win incredible prizes. Make sure to claim yours! A ballroom – Naturally, no prom can be complete without one of these. The ballroom takes up the entire aft portion of the ship. The room itself is towering, easily spanning two decks. Two staircases lead to a balcony section over part of the dance floor where those who would like to sit down can find some tables and chairs available to them. The curved back wall of the ship is nearly entirely comprised of large windows that prevent the room from feeling cramped. Unlike previous years, there is no balcony portion available, though if your characters would like a bit of fresh air, they can always climb up to the top deck. Mary Celebi The Mary Celebi likely won’t be where your characters spend most of their time, but it is rather important as this ship houses everyone’s sleeping quarters. Due to the limited space abroad the ship, there are only two types of rooms available: single rooms, clearly meant for, well, a single occupant, and rooms with a double bed, meant for two. The bathrooms are somewhat small but contain all the essentials (shower, toilet, sink, and some storage). Every double room will have its own bathroom, and every two singles will share one bathroom between them. Oranguru Medan The smallest of the three ships is the Oranguru Medan, and even then, only half of it will actually be accessible to characters. In the accessible part of the ship, you can find a large dining room where characters can take their meals, as well as a small infirmary for anyone who might find themselves in need of some Drampamine to combat air-sickness. In addition to caring for human needs, the infirmary also has a small set-up for healing Pokemon and a PC where characters can switch their party if the need arises. But why would the need arise, certainly nothing ever goes wrong during Prom! The rest of the ship houses things like the kitchens and storage areas. Characters will be kindly but firmly shooed away from these. Please, the cooks are working very hard and don’t need anyone getting in the way. And the hold has nothing more exciting than potatoes. You do NOT need to check the kitchen trash cans for items. Each ship will also contain a warp pad room, allowing people to warp between the different ships. Why, were you expecting zip lines? A tight rope walk? Please. THE ISLAND As mentioned on the travel itinerary, early in the afternoon, characters who are hanging out on the deck of the Tyrantic will start seeing a small speck in the distance -- a small speck that grows and grows until it becomes a rather cute looking island. The island is not particularly big, and from what can be gleaned, there are no houses or other structures on it. Instead, the island retains all its natural splendour, with plenty of greenery and an inviting beach. It's the perfect location to moor down at (the ships will remain in the air, but a plank will be let down so people can depart, and for everybody to stretch their legs. There is only so much space on these ships, after all! While the ocean waters are probably still a bit too cold to go swimming, the beach gives a nice opportunity to go for a stroll and perhaps collect a few seashells. The meadow and forests are perfect for people who'd love to go on a bit of a hike, and if you are the kind of person who is always on the look-out for a new friend to add to your roster, why not go and see if you can find one of the island pokemon? Available Pokemon Beach/Ocean Krabby, Clauncher, Wishiwashi, Pyukumuku, Mantine, Barboach, Bruxish, Finneon, Corsola, Cramorant Meadow Bellossom, Petilil, Cherubi, Butterfree, Oricorio (all styles), Cutiefly, Kecleon, Tropius Forest Aipom, Spinarak, Pikipek, Trumbeak, Nincada, Chatot The level range for these pokemon is lvl 5 - lvl 25 THE DANCE Despite the shenanigans Saturday evening, on Sunday evening, Prom will commence as planned. Of course, Riegfried and Soy understand if you aren't in much of a dancing mood after having dealt with three rather unfriendly birds, but on the other hand, isn't successfully handling three legendary pokemon worthy of a small celebration? You've met a challenge that few will ever meet in their lives and you have bested it! Surely that deserves some exuberance. Also, the band was already paid for anyway. So, for all those who are still interested in dancing and merriment, the big doors of the ball room will open on Sunday evening, admitting all within. For an airship, the room is relatively large, ornate and almost toweringly high. The ground floor is obviously set up for dancing, though there is also a small podium. Twisting staircases allow access to a balcony section about the dance floor where people can take a break, sit down at one of the many tables, and even get some refreshments from the banquet table. However, it's not the dancefloor or the fancy balcony that will be the star of this evening. About half an hour after prom has formally started, there is an actual live band climbing onto the stage. With painted faces and elaborate costumes Steam Powered Girafarig is here to provide your entertainment for the night. (And then quickly re-negotiate their contract, because nobody told them they'd be dealing with angry poke-gods here) However, that's not the final surprise Riegfried and Soy have in store for their guests. Once Steam Powered Girafarig completes their set, and the hour slowly starts crawling towards midnight, they invite everybody to the upper deck of the ship to witness a spectacular display of Fireworks, painting the dark sky with a wash of colour.

G'raha Tia | OTA

((OOC: Spoilers for Shadowbringers and Endwalker will not be present in his toplevel, but I will mark threads should spoilers come up! That being said, I will happily omit spoilers in responses if you don't want them, it is no trouble! o7))

[A party on a flying ship...it doesn't sound impossible to G'raha Tia, but he's never attended such a thing. Still, he'll be there with friends, and that is, of course, reason to celebrate.

Friday sees him getting acquainted with the three ships, so you might see him on the Tyrantic, the Mary Celebi, or the Oranguru Medan anywhere from boarding to late afternoon, just sort of...exploring, taking in the environs. The pipes and gears and such put him in the mind of what he knows of Alexander, it's all very intriguing. During this time, please feel free to run into him anywhere - but in the late afternoon well into the night, G'raha Tia makes a home for himself in the library, engrossed in book after book after book. He never could tear himself away from a tale of adventure.

Saturday brings the consequences of his actions - namely, staying up to read so late has him sleeping until the island landing jolts him awake in the afternoon. He's still a bit drowsy when he disembarks, and lets his body properly wake up by relaxing in the island's meadow, Skimble the Skitty in his lap as they both watch a quartet of Oricorio make their way around the various flowers. He's intrigued by the species variants, but they don't seem to be bothered by him just watching, while Skimble is...he's waiting to find a chance to squirm out of G'raha's hands and go play with the birds, too. This could be trouble.

Sunday brings with it the dance, this "prom" thing. And though his funds are limited, he's put together an ensemble that he hopes no one will take offense to. The ears on the hat were a...personal choice. He - he missed the shape of his own, okay, leave him be. But, yes, more likely than not he'll gravitate towards G'rhyf, or a familiar face at least. He's a scholar, he...how do you do a fancy party, he doesn't. He's unsure. Even with all he's seen and done, he's never really gotten the hang of Fancy Party Things. Help.]

Friday

[nastyboy]

[G'raha isn't the only one interested in exploring the different ships. Dimitri is trying the Oranguru Medan himself when they happen to run into each other, seeming only faintly put at ease from what he's seen. It is good that there are ways to change out their team, and a place to heal, but...]

[Ah, such narrow hallways make it hard to avoid people, and he pauses after running into G'raha.]

Ah, excuse me... It is interesting how they have separated the different ships, isn't it?

Oh, absolutely! I suppose there isn't one large enough to house everything all at once, but they've done an intriguing job solving that problem with the warping.

[And it's not even like Allagan warping! No launching oneself through the air.]

[nastyboy]

I imagine that they could have likely fit more onto the main ship if they had not fit it with a ballroom... [Ah, but ignore his minor griping nonsense. Dimitri sighs.] Although I know they likely constructed it with our enjoyment in mind.

[So he'll stop, he'll stop...]

Our hosts were the pair who held that contest some time ago, yes? [He was there, technically, for sure. Probably at the snack table, still a little too internally to mingle much.] Is it the norm for them to orchestrate such events?

I do not know if they normally host events such as these... I believe it was their first, but I could not tell you that with certainty. It was the first I attended, personally.

[And it immediately set off his PTSD and mental illnesses! Whups!]

They do seem to like hosting contests, however... Yet Prom seems to be somewhat of a difficult thing to handle.

[gachatia]

I had heard some...disagreements on the subject on the Network.

[Not that he'd butted in to ask more questions. Knowing the hotly debated event was coming up, it made more sense to experience it with his own eyes than rely soley on the testimony of others. And besides, how could he not go to a big party with his friends who want to go?]

From what I recall, there was talk of a history of misfortune befalling the event?

[Radley comes across him in the meadow.]

This is a peaceful place.

[He chuckles at the Skitty.]

He looks like he wants to stir things up a bit.

[Evie wants to play! She goes up to the Skitty and warbles.]

Ah - um, yes, it is.

[Is he? G'raha looks down at Skimble and readjusts him in his lap, and the cat mewls offendedly, and makes a noise at Evie. He is being held against his will!]

We spoke on the device before, did we not?

[crystalmaster]

[Evie chirps at him, wanting him to play. But she's willing to plop down with him to watch the show too. For a minute, at least. Then she's hurrying to try to get the birds to play too!

Radley is amused at her innocent antics. He smiles.]

Yeah, we did. I'm Radley.

[Having split off from companions to make the job of patrolling a little more wide spread, Shoto decides that the solitude a library can bring is something he could enjoy a little more of. As much as he wants to enjoy the three day trip, he's been told to be on high alert so often that he can't unwind entirely. Maybe something more relaxed will do the trick on his self-appointed down time.

It makes for an interesting ponder at the rows of books that he's forced to stare down as if they really will just tell him their knowledge and which one of them to pick. Shoto really has no clue which one to pick and instead just gives in. He picks one off the shelf, looking at its contents before setting it back and looking above it. Maybe this one? Or maybe there's a section that's more tactics than story.

With a few books around them, it seems maybe at least there's a reading aficionado he can turn to. He feels bad but he clears his throat and gently:]

Sorry, excuse me. You haven't happened on anything that's more about the actual world than fiction, have you?

[gachatia]

[G'raha looks up, blinking owlishly as his eyes adjust from the world of text on pages to real life. He has to process that he's been asked a question, you see, and for the past who-knows-how-long, his mind's been firmly rooted in the realm of fiction.]

Oh - ah, I'm not quite sure. There is likely a nonfiction section, but I haven't yet perused it.

[The cover of the book in his hands sports the title "Around the World in 80 Days" - likely similar to its real-world counterpart, if not for the illustration of the protagonist flying in a contraption held aloft by several Drifblim in a gilded silhouette.]

[Oh. Yes indeedy. He very much pulled this gentleman out of the world of books. He knows that look from a classmate of his own. Shoto's eyes befall a ghost type pokemon on the cover and he loses interest quickly enough about nonfiction.]

Do you mind if I ask what that one's about if I'm not keeping you too long from the story?

[Studying can wait, if he knows one thing about Drifblim, and boy he does, you don't want to let them take you anywhere unless you have your wits about you.]

Oh, it's no bother! I'd be glad to tell you.

[He places a thumb inside the book to close it and better show off the cover.]

It's a story of a man who gambles half of his fortune to prove he can travel the globe in eighty days, and to do so he catches and befriends various Pokemon species to assist him on the journey. He's gone on land, by sea, and in this part on the cover he meets these...balloon creatures, and manages to convince them to bear him across a desert. There's an officer of the law attempting to arrest him as well, it's all quite thrilling - the officer thinks he is a thief, you see, based purely on description alone, but since he cannot discuss the matter in real time with his peers, he doesn't know that the thief has already been caught-

[The problem is, Shoto is going to sit himself down in a chair close, nestled in that little reading area there and listen to the entire explanation. Which he does. The entire thing. Quietly and with rapt attention. His expression may not give it away but it does sound exciting, furthermore is the body language of leaning forward his eyes fixed on the man taking the time to explain. Much better than studying, even if that's probably not going to be giving him tips on how to beat Team Rocket if they show up.

For a long moment he finally sits back in the chair, taking the second to mull over that information.]

I can see why you were so engrossed in it. Use of a pokemon in each adventure... The balloon creatures are Drifblim of which I have here should you be interested in seeing them up close. They're a ghost type pokemon.

[No, G'raha, maybe it's better not to get him started.]

[It's hard to say whether it's the outfit or apparent discomfort that draws Aymeric's attention. Regardless of the reason, he gravitates toward G'raha when they both have a spare moment, offering at first a nod of a greeting, then a full bow as he smiles up at the man.]

You certainly fit the theme far more than I managed to. [He straightens up, still expression still warm and pleasant.] You look magnificent, my friend, if a touch ill at ease. You may relax -- this event is a far cry from the painful social engagements you or I might be used to back home.

[gachatia]

Oh, well, it's not...it's just something thrown together. [Nothing like Aymeric coming out here dressed to the nines...he might have been Glancing Respectfully a little bit, reserved but respectfully! You can admire a friend's poise and presence at a fancy party!

G'raha, for his part, doffs his hat to worry the brim a little, so he has something to do with his hands.] Though I will admit, I am much less used to such engagements than you might expect. It's been...a considerable while, let's say.

Nonsense. You look every bit the part of both our locale and our esteemed hosts.

[Yes, that praise is 100% genuine, and yes, he will be asking G'raha where he managed to dig up his outfit at a later hour. He has more shopping to do, once he's replenished his own funds.]

You are not the only one out of your element, my friend. [Says Aymeric, who looks absolutely at ease.] Not one of these guests has attempted to challenge my lineage or threatened to unveil some horrific gossip.

That is to say... I think it is safe for you to relax.

[gachatia]

[Oh, he probably fell ass-backwards into a thrift store and/or all year Halloween shop and dove into the clearance bins. Aymeric, do you want to know how to make the most of your gil Poke-Yen?]

I should hope none of these guests would do such things to anyone. [But he does visibly relax a bit, putting the hat back on and making sure it sits just so. Yes, the ears have to be Correct.] What point would there be to it, in a world not our own, at a celebration where many in attendance are strangers?

Who could say? What ever was the point of such gossip in a place where the attendees were your peers? [A shrug. He's never claimed to understand the intricacies of high society, despite spending most of his time amongst said rank.]

I must say, though. It has been many and more years since I have had the opportunity to truly enjoy myself at an affair such as this. Though I daresay the company has much to do with it.

[He flashes a too-charming smile at G'raha.]

Land, [ comes the relieved sigh from a blond woman nearby.

Excuse her as she just flops dramatically onto solid ground. Her Slowpoke - in a cute little sunhat - walks slowly up to her before repeating the motion to lay by her side. ]

I never thought I'd be so happy to be on an island but, honestly, anything but in the air wins out.

[-Oh, the sunhat. That's sweet, what the heck.]

Not a fan of airships, I take it?

You would be correct, good sir. Heights, uh. They aren't my favorite? But this seemed like too cool of an event to pass up.

Oh! Oh, dear. Well, ah...mayhap avoiding balconies and covering up the window in your room might help with that. Out of sight, out of mind, as the saying goes?

[ Like everyone, he's being very sweet about it. Perhaps it says a lot about the kind of people that Rose associated with that it feels very... novel. New, almost, to be treated with such kindness from near strangers. ]

Yeah, that's been the plan. Only so much you can do about turbulence and such though, y'know?
