It's prom time, baby

This year, transport arranged by Riegfried and Soy will deliver everyone to the Sevii Islands -- a short trip for some, a longer journey for others. Either way, at around eleven AM, everyone who was interested in joining will have been gathered at a cheery cafe, fully reserved for the event so people have somewhere to sit and wait while the rest arrive. All bags will be taken by the couple's employees immediately upon arrival, with the promise that Trainers will find them waiting for them on the ship.

At eleven, Soy checks a pocket watch, then he addresses the crowd.

"Welcome all! Riegfried and I are so happy to see so many of you here. It heartens us greatly to see you trust us again with the hosting of this event. Please be assured that everything in our power has been done to prevent a repeat of last year's catastrophe, and we've worked closely with the League to ensure that everyone involved in this project is trustworthy. Now, if you'll follow me."

It's just a short trek from the bright little cafe to the ship's mooring. Or such is what all will be told as they walk. Riegfried and Soy lead the possession, coming to a momentary halt as the gathered Trainers crest a small dune. There, they both sweep off their top hats, giving deep and theatrical bows as they gesture towards a small, private bay where not one, not even two, but three airships lay moored along a pier, waiting for everyone to board.

"Welcome to Prom."

THE ITINERARY

Inside their rooms, every visitor will find a short itinerary for this prom trip. There is also a small map, which shows the route they will fly to get to the mentioned island. Of course, considering the route is entirely over water, it is not the most useful thing. There is also a second, more useful map, of each of the three ships and where the various amenities can be found.

Friday, 12PM - Lift off
Saturday, 3PM - Island arrival
Sunday, 8PM - Prom
Monday, 5PM - Scheduled return

Breakfast hours - 7:30AM - 9AM
Lunch hours - 12AM - 2PM
Dinner hours - 6:30PM - 8PM

Small meals and drinks can be requested between these hours!

THE FLEET

Tyrantic

The largest of the three ships, the Tyrantic will be the entertainment centre and hub during this trip.

Of the three ships, it’s the only one with a top deck where characters will be able to take in the spectacular view and bask in the sunlight as we travel. Standing at the prow, you’ll really feel on top of the world, watching the ocean pass beneath you! Do mind the railings, please! We wouldn’t want anyone to fall off.

Inside, Riegfried and Soy have tried to provide as many amenities as possible within the limited space, including:

A small library – For anyone looking for some peace and quiet, this is the place to go. A few large windows let in plenty of natural light, and the shelves are stocked to the brim with various adventure and exploration novels. Leather armchairs are scattered around the room, giving readers a comfortable place to curl up. And when night falls, a variety of lamps bathe the room in a soft, yellow light, mimicking that produced by candles or oil lamps.

A bar – Yes, for anyone old enough to drink (and the attendants will be checking!) Riegfried and Soy have provided a small bar with complimentary drinks. Take a seat at one of the small tables, or perch on one of the leather barstools and allow yourself to be poured a scotch. Perhaps you can share a story or two with the other adults hanging out here.

A casino – Care to place a little wager? Or sit down for a hand of poker? Perhaps even test your luck at the Wheel?

It seems Riegfried and Soy drew some inspiration from the Goldenrod City Game Corner, and have provided everybody with a chance to place some bets. Please note that betting in the casino does cost actual pokebucks, but the House is also rich and generous, so your odds are pretty good. And the attendants will make sure to herd you out before you can lose all your hard-earned cash.

Every prom attendant also gets one (1!) complimentary spin on the Wheel for a chance to win incredible prizes. Make sure to claim yours!

A ballroom – Naturally, no prom can be complete without one of these.
The ballroom takes up the entire aft portion of the ship. The room itself is towering, easily spanning two decks. Two staircases lead to a balcony section over part of the dance floor where those who would like to sit down can find some tables and chairs available to them.

The curved back wall of the ship is nearly entirely comprised of large windows that prevent the room from feeling cramped. Unlike previous years, there is no balcony portion available, though if your characters would like a bit of fresh air, they can always climb up to the top deck.

Mary Celebi

The Mary Celebi likely won’t be where your characters spend most of their time, but it is rather important as this ship houses everyone’s sleeping quarters. Due to the limited space abroad the ship, there are only two types of rooms available: single rooms, clearly meant for, well, a single occupant, and rooms with a double bed, meant for two.

The bathrooms are somewhat small but contain all the essentials (shower, toilet, sink, and some storage). Every double room will have its own bathroom, and every two singles will share one bathroom between them.

Oranguru Medan

The smallest of the three ships is the Oranguru Medan, and even then, only half of it will actually be accessible to characters. In the accessible part of the ship, you can find a large dining room where characters can take their meals, as well as a small infirmary for anyone who might find themselves in need of some Drampamine to combat air-sickness. In addition to caring for human needs, the infirmary also has a small set-up for healing Pokemon and a PC where characters can switch their party if the need arises.

But why would the need arise, certainly nothing ever goes wrong during Prom!

The rest of the ship houses things like the kitchens and storage areas. Characters will be kindly but firmly shooed away from these. Please, the cooks are working very hard and don’t need anyone getting in the way. And the hold has nothing more exciting than potatoes. You do NOT need to check the kitchen trash cans for items.

Each ship will also contain a warp pad room, allowing people to warp between the different ships. Why, were you expecting zip lines? A tight rope walk? Please.

THE ISLAND

As mentioned on the travel itinerary, early in the afternoon, characters who are hanging out on the deck of the Tyrantic will start seeing a small speck in the distance -- a small speck that grows and grows until it becomes a rather cute looking island.

The island is not particularly big, and from what can be gleaned, there are no houses or other structures on it. Instead, the island retains all its natural splendour, with plenty of greenery and an inviting beach. It's the perfect location to moor down at (the ships will remain in the air, but a plank will be let down so people can depart, and for everybody to stretch their legs. There is only so much space on these ships, after all!

While the ocean waters are probably still a bit too cold to go swimming, the beach gives a nice opportunity to go for a stroll and perhaps collect a few seashells. The meadow and forests are perfect for people who'd love to go on a bit of a hike, and if you are the kind of person who is always on the look-out for a new friend to add to your roster, why not go and see if you can find one of the island pokemon?

THE DANCE

Despite the shenanigans Saturday evening, on Sunday evening, Prom will commence as planned. Of course, Riegfried and Soy understand if you aren't in much of a dancing mood after having dealt with three rather unfriendly birds, but on the other hand, isn't successfully handling three legendary pokemon worthy of a small celebration? You've met a challenge that few will ever meet in their lives and you have bested it! Surely that deserves some exuberance.

Also, the band was already paid for anyway.

So, for all those who are still interested in dancing and merriment, the big doors of the ball room will open on Sunday evening, admitting all within.

For an airship, the room is relatively large, ornate and almost toweringly high. The ground floor is obviously set up for dancing, though there is also a small podium. Twisting staircases allow access to a balcony section about the dance floor where people can take a break, sit down at one of the many tables, and even get some refreshments from the banquet table.

However, it's not the dancefloor or the fancy balcony that will be the star of this evening. About half an hour after prom has formally started, there is an actual live band climbing onto the stage. With painted faces and elaborate costumes Steam Powered Girafarig is here to provide your entertainment for the night.

(And then quickly re-negotiate their contract, because nobody told them they'd be dealing with angry poke-gods here)

However, that's not the final surprise Riegfried and Soy have in store for their guests. Once Steam Powered Girafarig completes their set, and the hour slowly starts crawling towards midnight, they invite everybody to the upper deck of the ship to witness a spectacular display of Fireworks, painting the dark sky with a wash of colour.

The Tyrantic

[Airships are not something Rose has any familiarity with, and she's eager to explore every bit of it! But it's the casino that catches her interest first. All the sounds, the lights, the general atmosphere of excitement...how can she resist?

It's very difficult to miss the eight foot pink woman who's trying her hand at every single game, and apparently doesn't care if she loses. Whatever the outcome of her bets, she laughs delightedly. When she reaches the poker table, she stands and watches with curious eyes.]

What game is this?

[Of course Rose isn't going to skip the actual prom part! All dolled up in another pink, rose covered gown, she's eager to hit the dance floor in the ballroom. She's even woven fabric roses through her hair, to match her dress.

Despite her size, she moves lightly and gracefully, and is happy to dance with anyone who might want to. At least when she isn't dancing with Greg.]

Island

[Rose wastes little time in going to explore the island. A new beach! Possibly new friends! Dressed in a pink and white polka dot sun dress, she wanders the island with Doofy the Bidoof at her feet. While it may be too cold for swimming, it's not at all unpleasant to walk barefoot at the edge of the surf.

Sometimes she stops to pick up a shell or sea-smoothed stone, and slip into the pink bag slung over her shoulder. Doofy stays mostly by her side...unless he spots another Pokemon along the beach, in which case he dashes over to try and make friends.]

Wildcard

[Hit me up for anything else, or just toss a starter at me, Rose will be everywhere at some point.]

[Radley has seen several people beach-combing, and he's glad there's enough for all of them to find things. He's about to say Hi when Evie the Eevee tears over to say Hi to Doofy.]

Whoa, look out!

[He hopes Rose won't trip.]

[Rose lets out a laugh, practically bounding out of the way of the enthusiastic Pokemon with an ease that says she's very used to this. Doofy bounces around in excitement, his little taking flapping wildly as he greets the Eevee.]

It's alright, they're just happy to see each other! Doofy's happy to see most Pokemon.

[The little Bidoof has a very big heart.]

Of course so am I. Hello you both!

[Evie exclaims in glee, happy to have found someone else playful like herself.]

Yeah, that sounds just like my girl.

[Radley smiles.]

Hi! I'm Radley. This is Evie and Evan.

I'm Rose. And you've already met Doofy.

[She chuckles as she gestures to her Bidoof, who's more than ready to race up and down the shoreline with his new friend.]

I hope you're enjoying prom weekend! It's always so exciting to see where it will be each year. Aren't the airships impressive?

[Rose certainly thinks so. What a marvel of engineering! Especially for this world.]

[Evie is happy to begin a race! She tears off along the shoreline.]

The airships are pretty cool. I'm trying to enjoy it as much as I can, but all the horror stories about other proms have me kinda spooked. Have you been to a lot of them?

Oh it's never as bad as some people make it out to be!

[Rose laughs. This isn't the first time she's been asked about what happens at prom.]

There's always some excitement, but no one's gotten seriously hurt or lost or anything like that. And it doesn't usually last long. Sometimes it's fun!

[At least as far as she's concerned. But Rose has a rather unique view on...well...everything.]

Really? I heard last year people got possessed and their Pokemon stolen. That sounds pretty bad.

I wouldn't say it like that, that makes it sound awful! It really wasn't that bad.

[At least in Rose's opinion. Everyone had made it through just fine, and overall it had been a very nice prom. Aside from...that. Looking back, it hardly seems like the big fuss some people have made it out to be.]

My advice is to just enjoy yourself, and if something happens, know that it's bound to be alright. It always is. I promise.

[Radley isn't sure what to make of that attitude, but he tries to be a diplomat when he can, so he decides to let it go.]

If you say so.

[He smiles a bit wistfully at her next words.]

I used to believe that a lot more than I do these days.

_{[Honestly, at first, he thinks Rose is a Pokemon and that somebody's Pokemon is playing slots and that is hilarious! He sidles over to see if the critter wins anything (and to possibly scoop up the rewards because Pokemon don't fucking know what money is) but when he gets closer to Rose, he realizes.]

[He was very incorrect.]

[And boy is he glad!]}

_{[This is all he can sat at first as he gazes up at Rose. Like, sure, she's very beautiful and has such cute cheeks and eyelashes but she's HUGE and that does something to him. his fingers twitch at his sides.]}

Oh, hello!

[Rose turns briefly and offers a somewhat distracted smile to the...man that's joined her at the slot machine. Has she seen him on the network? She thinks so, but she's very captivated by the machine, and the lights and sounds. It's just fun to see what it does when she pulls the lever, regardless of if it pays out are not.]

Aren't these things fun?

_{[For a moment, he's frozen and actually rendered speechless--a rarity for him! He quickly recovers though after flapping his mouth wordlessly and blinking very much. A huge grin replaces his astonished expression.]}

They sure are, sugar! Why don't you show me how they work?

Oh it's easy!

[Rose smiles and reaches to pull out another coin, which promptly goes into the slot.]

Put your money in like that and pull the lever! You might win.

[She gives the lever a mighty heave, sending the machine into it's dance of lights and noises, eager eyes watching the little symbols as they roll to a stop. There's a little jingle, and two coins fall out of the bottom.]

See!

Well how about that! And you're a natural to boot!

_{[He leans an arm against the one-armed bandit and peers up at her through his lashes.]}

You, uh, come here often?

Of course not!

[Rose laughs, collecting her two coins, one of them going right back into the machine. What else is there to do with bonus money? It isn't as though she and Greg live an expensive lifestyle, and they make plenty of money.]

None of us have ever been here before. But I do attend every prom!

I gathered this was an annual kinda thing. Heard some whispers about a supposed planned disaster? But hey, I'm not worried! You gotta play the game to win, am I right?

_{[He elbows her a little.]}

Oh but it's always somewhere different! A luxury resort or a cruise ship...this is the first time it's been in the air!

[That's half of the fun! Never knowing what new sort of place they'd all get to go, for the weekend long party.]

And there's usually some upset but it's never a disaster. Noone's died.

_{[At that, Beetlejuice feels torn. On one hand, watching the living meet their doom has been a form of entertainment for ages! But also. He is the living and now that he's gotten to frolic around with a pulse he doesn't want to give that up!]}

Good to know. So! _{[He tips his head forward so he can look up through his lashes at her.]} What's your name, gorgeous? You can call me BJ!

[Rose beams down a bright and innocent smile, seemingly unbothered by this strange man who's latched onto her in the casino. He's a little bit odd, but that's alright. Some of the most fun people are a little bit odd.]

I'll be honest, it's been a little bit of a drag aside from the free food but NOW? Now I'm into it!

[Most people wouldn't miss an eight foot tall pink woman, but most people weren't Gobo Fraggle. About as confused and mystified with this place as Rose herself was, Gobo had been drawn in more by the lights and sounds than by the gambling. He's spending more time wandering around and looking than he is playing anything, though, mostly because the how-to's of most of these went completely over his head. Oh sure, he knew what gambling was- how many times had he heard his own racing career be bet on? -but these flashy machines and fancy tables were a bit more complicated than what he was familiar with.

He happened to be nearby when he overheard Rose asking about the poker table, someone who seemed as confused and curious as he was. Turning, he wandered over while the dealer takes a few moments to broad-strokes the game. When that broke to turn to a new hand, Gobo glanced up- and up -at Rose nearby.]

Pretty fascinating, eh? [He looked back, watching cards and chips go across the table.] All the things they come up with.

[Not that he's aware he's talking to another non-human, mind. Believe it or not the eight footness of it all doesn't strike him as odd.]

Oh it's all amazing! I've been a human for years now and I'm still finding new things to be impressed by!

[Rose has never made it any secret that she isn't, naturally, human. And yes, it had been a strange adjustment, but she likes being human! After thousands of years watching them, living alongside them, she finally is one!]

And the games...humans have more games than anyone, I think!

[The only card games she knows are Go Fish and Old Maid, though she can now recognize poker from television and movies.]

Oh yeah? [So it's someone else like him, then. He wondered at what she looked like before; must've almost been a Gorg, to be this size now!] I've only been a human for a few months, but there's a lot to see.

I think you're right about the games, though! And I thought we Fraggles came up with a lot. There seems to be at least one of ours for every three I learn about up here.

Oh there's so much! I've been a human for a few years and I'm still discovering new things!

[This is always one of Rose's favorite topics of conversation. It's always so interesting to hear the experiences of others who weren't human but discovered it here.]
