1st Cast Off [Video/Action New Bark Town]
Video
[It doesn't take him too long to finagle with this new machine, eventually finding a way to create a video. Great. Excellent start.
He doesn't put the camera on himself but on his surroundings, recording everything around him.]
My name is Kira Yoshikage. I think what happened... well, it doesn't matter. I come from a town called Morioh and probably got washed up here. I'm a little confused about my surroundings and these creatures. [The camera turns to the Lapras, who leans in to push her snout into the phone. Large sniffs can be heard that muffle the audio for a moment. His voice is just made out, as he tells the creature to stop that.]
Anywaaaay... I got a brief explanation and while this is all weird I'm hoping that maybe someone else got washed up here with me. Someone who also came from Morioh. Uh, Morioh is a really small town in Japan, if that helps at all. If he's here or not it will give me a clear idea on my current situation. I don't want to draw any drastic conclusions until then.
Soooooo, thanks ahead of time. [The video cuts out.]
[Action]
[He finishes his video, stepping back before the Lapras can shove her nose into it again. Yeah, he learned that this was his. She's... she's pretty big. She's got big flippers so she's not going to be able to go far unless she's in the water. And she's really friendly.
She's nothing he's ever seen before in his whole life. But he can conclude that she's some kind of sea faring thing. Inside his backpack he found some interesting things but the most useful seems to be a notebook and pen. This is perfect. If nothing else he can start documenting what he's found here.
He's also learned that he can point this thing at these creatures and he'll gather information about them. So this is what he knows:
Lapras: The Transport Pokémon. People have driven Lapras almost to the point of extinction. In the evenings, this Pokémon is said to sing plaintively as it seeks what few others of its kind still remain.
Well, that's pretty sad. He doesn't even really understand what's going on here but he's been given some near extinct creature and a book on breeding. The answer is kind of obvious, huh? He's here because there is work to be done. He did all he could in Morioh and now he's here with a clear task at hand.
This is bizarre and a lot to take in, no doubt, but he's never been one to fight the current. It's better to go along with it. Fate is fate. What happens when you try and stop the inevitable? You end up in a situation like this.]
I don't know about you, Lapras. But I can take a hint. [She wiggles about in response. He can't help but smile. He takes out his notebook and put's the pen behind his ear, it's time to get to work.
If you happen to be in New Bark Town you'll find this young man, dressed in a sailor suit, fussing with his Lapras. Measuring her like you would a horse, with hands. He fusses with her shell, shoves his face into her mouth to see if she has teeth and if they're sharp. Around and around this creature he goes, taking down notes whenever he learns something new.]
You may need to call out to him more than once as he's a little lost in his work. But his Lapras will notice you right away and will start to sing immediately.]

...And she starts laughing. It's a bubbly kind of sound, but for the first time today the blue-haired girl is smiling into the mantle of her quiet Inkay. She's in plain sight for the Lapras to see.]
no subject
Letting out a sigh, he runs a hand over his face removing any saliva he undoubtedly managed to get on him. What in the world was up with--
He hears someone laughing. He wants to be annoyed but he was just doing something stupid and a little humorous, he supposes. If his friend was here his head would never have gotten near the inside of that creature's mouth. Josefumi was a lot of his impulse control, huh? But that's not important, she's got a creature of her own. And it looks interesting.]
Stay there. [He tells his Lapras as he grabs his notebook and pen from the ground. She slowly shimmies across the ground anyway, in attempts to follow.
Once appearing in front of Thida he's at a bit of a loss. He's not a people person and when he is he's not exactly the most pleasant of people. He's well aware of his own faults. Be nice. He has to remind himself since no one else will.]
Uhm. [He clears his throat.] My name is Kira Yoshikage. I'm... well, new here, I guess. Anyway. I figured I'd busy myself and take some notes about the animals here. And yours, looks like a squid. [A squid that's looking incredibly good for being outside the water. This world, while different, is incredibly fascinating and he's only been here a couple of hours.]
Can you tell me about him? I won't touch or anything. I just want some documentation about him, if that's okay.
no subject
'M new, too. [New to a lot of things.] Maika's a girl. 'S okay t'look.
[She holds the Inkay out hesitantly, while the Pokemon in question regards the human in front of her with calm curiosity. You can't really fit your head in its mouth, sir, it seems to think.]
no subject
[Interesting... But he'll focus on that later. Research and notes first.
The Pokémon definitely reminds him of a squid, so he's careful not to touch it with his bare hands, though she seems to be fine with direct contact. He uses his pen to lift up the the dangling parts and lightly prods and pokes at it. Kira quickly scribbles a few things down and estimates it's size with just a glance. He also catalogs the Inkay in his Pokédex so he can take more information on it later.]
Nice. I am... or used to be a marine surgeon. I'd be on a boat for long periods of time. There wasn't too much underwater exploration because I had to do my job but I got to see really cool underwater creatures occasionally. I guess I'm just really into sea life. Sooo it's kinda cool that the first few animals I've come across are ocean savvy. [Although the dex doesn't say this is a water type. Dark and psychic? That's... a weird classification for an animal.]
Anyway, thanks for letting me look at him. He's really neat. You can look at my Lapras if you want. Climb on her back or something. She's meant to carry people across the ocean so she won't mind.
[Lapras is still slowly shimmying her way across the dirt in an attempt to get closer. But her happy calls confirm what was just said. She'd be thrilled to be climbed on.]
no subject
Not a normal squid. Maika's like me! [She grins, and perhaps her eye teeth look a little sharp, but otherwise that's a normal set of chompers that...still feel too flat in her mouth.
She simply nods at Kira's offer and makes for the Lapras, reaching up on her tiptoes to pat its neck - she's quite short - before climbing aboard. It may not be what she's used to, but it does seem like she has a good sense of finding places to put her feet and hands.]
Swimmin' dinosaur!
[She proclaims this as she gives your Lapras a hug.]

Welcome to Johto, kid. The creature you've got with you is called a Pokémon. [Snake quickly looked the creature up in the PokeDex.] Yours is called a Lapras. It's a water-type.
video
Pokémon. [He repeats the word to try and get a feel for it.] Thanks for the info. I guess I should fuss with these devices a bit more. Seems like a lot of these questions I should be able to answer for myself. I don't intend to waste anyone's time.
[He hesitates for a moment wondering if he should bother asking, but hell, why not.]I guess it would be too much to ask a stranger over video about how I got here, huh? Some things are better left to the unknown. [In his particular case... absolutely. Quelling your curiosity isn't worth traumatizing yourself.]
no subject
[He had to ask his friend, Kaz, for advice many a time before finally realising there was so much info inside the device. He was used to technology but this? It was totally different.]
You're not wasting my time. Ask away. We're all new here when we start. [He offered the guy a smile and a shrug.] I can't answer how you got here. No one can. All I know is that we were pulled here by an unknown force.
no subject
I... I have a theory on a few things. About what happened to me. And about what this place is. To keep this short and sweet I guess I want to know if this is a good place. Like... Well, this is gong to sound stupid but is this a good place? Like, all the music and everything it seems cheery and happy. But is it good? Also, is there evil here?

He's got a pompadour and dresses like a weirdo. You'd know him if you saw him.
Video;
[He pauses for a moment, before he continues on, his voice a little softer.]
It... might be that he isn't here at all. I don't think anyone can really explain how this world works and how and why it brings certain people here and not others. Even if you two were together, it's no guarantee you were both brought here.
Video;
[This person brings up a good point. His friend might not be here. And that wouldn't be a horrible thing. He can draw a safe conclusion about his current situation. And if Josefumi wasn't here then he was safe in Morioh and would finish what they'd started.
It was a little sad, that kid was his only real friend but.. He can't change anything. He has to accept what is happening here. He needs to take a decisive stance and continue on.]
Makes sense. I just thought I'd check to see if he's here. I don't want him to think I abandoned him or anything. But I appreciate any kind of look out. He's a noticeable guy. If he's here, we'll definitely meet.

[Mabel, no!]
Voice;
I mean... I've only ever really had one friend in my whole life and that was more than enough for me. It was almost too much. So I promise you I'm good.
Anyway. The kid I'm looking for has a pompadour and dresses like someone who shouldn't actually be allowed to dress himself. He's really noticeable.
[He's going to stay away from making new friends and focus on the current missing one.]
Voice;
What do you mean you only had one friend in your entire life?! That's not fair, who's been picking you on you anyway? Do I need to go and talk to someone who is being a total bully on you?
[Because you know. That's probably the only reason why he doesn't have another friend]
Voice;
Well, I'm a busy guy. Always out at sea and working. I never stay at home for too long. Not a lot of time to make friends. So, I just have the one and even that was kind of an accident. Anyway... I don't need a guidance counselor, but thanks. I think.

Ooookay~ Got it. It's a Lapras. That means nothing to me but it's a start. Anything else this thing can do? [He prods at a few more buttons switching from audio to video a couple of times. A soft woops escaping him each time it happens.] I feel kinda old saying I need a booklet for this thing. I'm usually pretty good with the fancy gadgets all the "kids" are using.
no subject
[Of course he picked it up just fine, he'd like to think (in reality it wasn't nearly so graceful of a learning curve).]

So, I'll ask the million dollar question I've been asking everyone. Probably the top ten of all asked questions from arrivals. But, any idea how I got here and why?
[As of right now this place was kicking the hell out of the situation he'd just been in. So it was probably better not to question it but he can't help but be curious. And the least he can do for himself and the people he left behind is ask. If no answers are found then he'll carry on and maybe the mystery will solve itself someday.]

The voice is unfamiliar, but the words are unmistakable. On the other hand, it was also the first thing the guy said, which he can't imagine that extremely cautious man doing. As he continues, though, two things jump out at Josuke. One, the fact that this guy didn't once show his face. and Given the line of thought he was already on he assumes that it's because he doesn't want to. Two, he said he is from Morioh. Dead person or no, Josuke isn't about to ignore this or bother to conceal the animosity he's got towards the ex-blond Kira he's familiar with.]
You wanna draw any conclusions, how about that you asked for what's coming to you the second you said your name with ME listening, huh?
Audio;
[What?]
What? [He's busy with his notebook and documenting his sea dinosaur so he doesn't watch but he hears it loud and clear. Someone has a beef with him? How and why? He just got here. Maybe it's someone from Morioh... It sure does sound like this person knows him.
His first thoughts go to Damo. Though it doesn't sound like him it doesn't mean it's not. He never really put it together that those guys might be here too. If he managed to come here there's no reason why they couldn't have followed. Tsk... If any member of that group is here it complicates everything. And here he thought he might be able to have a nice little quiet life. Maybe find his friend one day.
Kira presses the button on his device so it records his voice. He's not going to stop what he's doing with to make a video. Though giving this guy the finger would be satisfying he's truly can't be bothered.]
Did my Sheer Heart Attack blow out your voice box? You sound like a some kind of dying animal. Listen, if you still got beef with me I'll be happy to kick your ass. You can't get the fruit now and you never will now that we're stuck here. But if you still want to go, let's go. I don't need Killer Queen to blow you out of the water. Agaaaain~
[Jackass. With an irritated huff he stops the recording ignoring that disapproving look his Lapras is giving him. Nor more songs and happy flopping around, huh? Well, it's none of her business anyway.]
Video;
I don't care about fruit, who do you take me for? And sure, you've probably realized your "hobby" is gonna be a lot harder without Killer Queen, but nothing's gonna save you from Josuke Higashikata, Stand or no Stand!
Audio --> Video
I don't care about fruit.
Your hobby is harder without Killer Queen.
Josuke Higashikata.
What the heck is being talked about here? There is one note of interest... he does know the last name Higashikata. He thought he knew all that shady salesmen's kids but seems like there's an extra one here. A bastard maybe? Kid certainly wasn't on the family tree when he looked into it.]
Hey listen... I think you have the wrong guy. My hobby is sailing and I can assure you Killer Queen does not help me do that. I also don't know a Josuke. Are you related to Higashikata Norisuke? Uhh... And siblings. Joubin, Haato, Daiya... there's another one. It doesn't matter. Anyway... I don't think you've got the right person. I've never heard of a Higashikata Josuke.
[He finally relents and reaches for his dex, flipping on his own video setting and watching the video messages that just came in on mute.] I mean-- woah. [All proper train of thought stops instantly. That hair. That's Josefumi's style... this guy... this guy doesn't really look like Josefumi. Well, a little bit, there's obvious differences. And he's already said his name was Josuke. They're not the same... definitely not but...] Nice... Nice hair.
