round one | what the hell happened here
Who: Rock Howard and you!
When: August/September
Where: Mom's House / New Bark Town / Route 29
Summary: Getting his bearings and wow does he not know a thing.
Warnings?: None for now!
i. mom's house
[ waking up in a stranger's home is one thing. it's another thing to be surrounded by all sorts of strangers in a stranger's home. rock had to muffle a scream, managing to keep himself together as to not look like a weirdo, but his face says it all. dear lord, what the hell was all this??? ]
I have... so many questions right now.
[ though he doubts anyone will answer him. rock makes his way to the kitchen, trying to keep to himself, especially as he makes his way through "mom's" pantry. he tries not to make the most noise, even though he does indeed bump into people on occasion. if he does, all you get is a mumbled 'sorry'. ]
ii. new bark town
[ he's one of the last people to leave mom's house, and he can't help but wonder what was that all about. sure, seeing people was one thing, but seeing swarms of creatures attacking said strangers and all the cries of "i missed you too" made the teen feel just all the more confused. but he doubts most people would give him any sort of day, if they were like the people he met in the KOF tournaments.
the only exceptions to that were shun'ei and isla, and even his own teammates. so there he was, in his own little corner, looking at a growlithe with a neutral look. ]
Looks like you're the little guy whose stuck with me, huh? [ a small smile. ] Welcome to team Garou, little guy.
[ a bark of approval. rock already likes his new pokemon. ]
iii. route 29
[ rock follows the crowd for the most part. he keeps to the back of the pack, really trying his best to look casual, as if he knew what he was doing for the most part. he doesn't, but acting the part was the key to actually learning. he has his nose stuffed into the trainer handbook, but... a lot of things still fly over his head. ]
So we catch these pokemon, to train them and make sure they... get stronger? So we're teachers?
[ he's still trying to make heads or tails on the entire thing. ]
iv. network (text, un: flybynightwolf)
Can anyone explain why weapons are banned here? It makes no sense.
[ totally not a weird thing to ask. ]
v. wildcard!
[ throw whatever at me! or plot with me over on plurk or discord!
divinereaper or naoto#0929 ]

So when Rock bumps into her, she's quick to wave off the apology. ] No, that's my fault. Sorry about that.

You sure? I wasn't looking... but then again, I don't even know where I am...
no subject
You...don't? Oh wait, so you weren't here before everything happened?
no subject
Uh, no? Did something happen before I came here?
no subject
But that must mean that you just arrived here, huh? [ She isn't sure if that's good timing that he missed all the Hisui stuff or bad timing for arriving just as they all came back. ] So uh...welcome, I guess? My name's Luisa.
no subject
Ah yeah, I did. Thanks, I guess...? [ at least the people in the crowded house are somewhat nice. it takes him a minute to respond to her introduction, though. ] O-Oh, it's nice to meet you, Luisa. I'm Rock. '
[ he's still got work to do in the socialization department. ]
no subject
It's nice to meet you too. I'm...sure you've got a bunch of questions. I can't answer anything, but I'm happy to tell you what I can.
no subject
[ a nod. ] I'd appreciate if you could. It's hard enough being the new kid in town. [ a wry smile. ] So what are the creatures running around called? They're not your regular animals...
no subject
[ Luisa knows it's probably better for all of them to be back here, but a part of her is going to miss how much Hisui kind of reminded her of home...sans-Pokemon, of course.
Speaking of. ]
Oh, they're called Pokemon. Most everyone in this place has at least one. Some people train them for competition, and some just keep them as companions.
no subject
Pokémon… and they can either be your friend or your fighting companion… that’s interesting. I didn’t know that. Mine just reminds me of a giant puppy.
[ which arguably, growlithe is. ]
no subject
[ She can't help a smile, seeing his Growlithe. ] Oh, that's a Growlithe! I had one of those...sort of. Mine was a little different than that one. [ She gestures to the Hisuian Growlithe behind her, who nudges her shoulder affectionately. ] He also evolved right before we got back.
no subject
but the hisuian growlite catches his attention immediately. ]
Oh wow..! Yours is so different... but it's cute. I'd actually own one, if I could...
[
dogs were his weakness.]I meant to say she gestures to the Hisuian Arcanine behind her...
sdjknfsd welp!! at least we can still make it work
[ he had to be clear in his understanding of those words. because if what she said is true, he could totally end up buying a hisui growlithe egg. it was necessary. all to get the big fluffy hisuian arcanine. ]

[ god, there was so much to learn! rock really was going to need to learn how to pokemon in order to survive, huh? he curses his luck, but he doesn't say it out loud. ]
Thank you for that information, at least... I don't know what'd I'd do without it. Even if all of it makes my head spin.
no subject
No problem. It can feel pretty overwhelming sometimes, but a lot of the people around here are really nice and willing to help out if you have trouble with anything.
no subject
[ he knows he should be seeking help out in general, but talking to people is just hard in general. ]
no subject
[ She does still have her moments, but it's been getting easier. ]
