50th Recipe [Text, Goldenrod City]
So, first of all, I want to emphasize how grateful I am to be back in a time and place with hot showers, and wish everyone luck in that upcoming tournament thing - it looks intriguing, but it's a bit too close to the baking busy season for me to give it
a serious entry. Yes, there is a baking busy season, it is a real thing and I take it very seriously, and if I'm going to be selling at the Goldenrod Market this year, I need to plan accordingly.
But in preparing for that, I came to think about the prevalent flavors of the encroaching season...namely, pumpkin spice. I don't dislike it myself, but I don't know if it really deserves all the hype it gets? You know, the...very oddly dedicated fanbase who line up at Starmiebucks from the moment the menu updates for the largest drink sizes of pumpkin spice whatever they can obtain? Or when Christmas comes around, everything gets flooded with peppermint - again, it isn't something I dislike, but why is it the prime holiday flavor when there's so many others?
I suppose I'm just wondering if there are flavors people like that come out around autumn and winter that don't get as much appreciation that people would want to see more of. There's apples, of course, and caramel, but what else? I'd love to hear your opinions.

What's the Goldenrod Market, though?
[Text]
It's probably my favorite thing about living in Goldenrod, is going to that market every year, and last year they started letting folks like us rent out stalls to sell things.
I couldn't do it last year, but I want to definitely do it this year.
But nuts! Pecans for sure are homey and cozy. Maybe almonds as well? I'm going to write that down.

Oh gosh, how could I have forgotten maple products? Those are so cozy!
And brown butter is definitely already on my list for ideas, but maple! I'm getting that down, thank you so much!

You're very welcome. I'm sure you'll make all sorts of wonderful treats.

Hear me out, though
Mushrooms
Fall was always the real big mushroom season where I'm from
[Text]
Even so, I'm going to write those both down and underline mushrooms several times, because if they're seasoned right, they would be incredible in something.

But if you need more sweet stuff, it's still kind of the tail end of summer, we're just going into fall now.
You wanna know what it's peak season for in my world?

[Gabi...Gabi, those aren't autumn foods. Those are just foods you like.]
what is pumpkin spice?
no subject
Pumpkin spice is simply the spices paired with sweet pumpkin products, like cinnamon and nutmeg and the like. And there's a larger push to make sure those items have actual pumpkin in them as well.

I tend to agree, at least with the commercial versions. They tend to be a bit overpowering, but I do like mint and the spices themselves.
Last year was my first autumn with most of these ingredients; I've never been to my world's version of Earth before. That said, I did like quite a few of the flavors. Apple and caramel are nice, and there's also cranberry, pumpkin and kabocha squash, mushrooms, savory herbs, nuts, maple. Oh! And hot chocolate! And melty cheeses!
[Basically, Allura's palate runs sweet and herbal, plus a barely-checked addiction to dairy.]
[text]
Incorporating herbs and cheese and perhaps some meats into pastries would offer another option, then!
I am absolutely writing that down right now.
And also cranberries! I can't believe I forgot about cranberries.

Oh yes, those would be excellent! Or I've heard of sweet pies with cheese folded into the crust.

Oh and Gingerbread ice cream. Egg Nog too!
... um. Also. Did you need a hand for all your preparations?
[Text]
Well, I wouldn't say no to an extra set of hands once the baking comes into play...but I also wouldn't make you work for free, since I'm planning on selling what I'm making.
