So people sell Pokemon eggs, right? That's what you do...?
[Boober is holding one egg carefully against his chest, and carefully standing as still as he can manage. His mouth is pulled into a very nervous frown.]
Traveler and Tales have four more, too. It'd be nice if people wanted them, because five is a lot to take care of... More than I can do. So if anyone wants to buy one for 300P, just tell me. Traveler is my Hisuian Growlithe, and Tales is a Patra-- Well, no wait, he's a Watchog now.
...About that. Evolution is kind of weird, isn't it? It's like deciding to have a birthday, but then they change how they look too, and that just happens all at once.
(ooc: The post for claiming eggs is here! Please make sure to hit that up if you want one, regardless of if you tag here.)
Mando: Outside of Mt Moon
[Boober can't avoid the training he and Mando agreed on forever, no matter how many seconds thoughts he's having. He should know how to escape from dangerous situations, after all, and it doesn't seem like Mando expects him to actually fight. Still, he's hesitant as he goes over to Mando.]
Um... I think I'm ready to learn that stuff you told me about.
Riz: Inside Mt Moon
[The amount of preparation Riz is doing for the upcoming tournament is admirable. He's even got Boober in on it, by making flashcards he can use to test Riz's knowledge-- Which Boober much rather do than help with actual practice battles. It's helping him learn more, too, which is important. He can't avoid every challenge, especially with Archie so eager to fight. So usually, Boober pays close attention during these quiz sessions, but as they walk through the caves of Mt Moon, he's very distracted. It's such a nice, homey place for a little Fraggle.]
Wait a second... Darn. [He sighs as he flips the top flashcard back over to the question side.] I read that one wrong again. It should've been the use for a charti berry, not a cheri berry. Sorry, Riz.

Action;
[That self-satisfied whisper wasn't really directed at Boober. Rather, Riz has been so certain that his answer had to be right, that he had honestly been stunned to hear it was wrong. He had been about ready to start doubting his own mind, so to hear it had been Boober who made the mistake rather than his brain was gratifying. He had been right all along. All these hours of studying were coming to fruition.
Though, perhaps they could stand to take a little break. Riz was never any good at figuring out when it was a good time to take a break. If it was just him and Adaine quizzing each other, they would almost always lose complete track of time. They either went until they dropped or until someone stepped in to remind them that other things existed outside of studying.]
It's okay. We can take a little break. We've been at it for a while, huh?
no subject
If you don't mind, maybe just a little break? [Not too long, he promises himself, because if Riz lost because of him not doing enough, Boober would feel awful. And yes, Riz has been doing a great job remembering the information, but it never hurt to prepare more. You couldn't over-prepare, it just wasn't possible if you asked Boober.] This is a pretty neat place... It reminds me of home.

It was a... nice cave, Riz supposed. Very. Uh. Sturdy? Rocky? Listen, caves might be the ancestral home of both Fraggles and Goblins, but Riz was still a complete city boy. He had lived in an apartment his whole life. This cave was as foreign to him as the air was to fish.]
Huh, really? So Fraggles live in a place like this?
no subject
Yeah. Well, Fraggle Rock is more colorful, and has ponds and things. [A little laugh.] And Fraggles, of course. Lots of Fraggles, making noise and getting in the way.
[He snorts as if this is bothersome - which, it is! When he's there to be bothered by it. But now? Well, he's still smiling as he complains.]
There would always be some big game or party going on, if not many of them at once.

Yeah, evolution is a bit strange. [ It's definitely not like how evolution is taught in school. ] It is kind of like the Pokemon are growing, though, it just...happens really suddenly.

[Okay that may have sounded a bit callous.]
I mean, they should be with people who can take care of them best, right?

They are, aren’t they? Is it alright if I buy one? I’m starting as a breeder.

Yeah, of course. I hope it's helpful. How long ago did you get here?

Oh! But just to make sure you know, they won't be like most Growlithe, how I understand it. They'll be ones that were in the past, if, um, if you were around when that happened.

These things hatch from eggs?
[But aren't a lot of the Pokemon mammals???]
no subject
But a lot of things here don't really make sense, so I guess that's not a big surprise.

[Too weird...]
What's a Hisuian Growlithe?

[All that said, he stops what he's doing--it's towards the end of the session anyway, and he's been letting Loth-Cat light fires that Ball can put out--and turns to Boober.]
All right.
[Once he's sure the Pokemon won't start a forest fire, Mando comes over and takes a knee across from Boober.]
What do you know already?
no subject
Already? Nothing, I guess. I mean, I can run away from things?
no subject
[Mando doesn't break his attention away from Boober, but he fishes out a treat for both of the greedy little bastards.]
That's a start. Knowing when to run away is a lesson a lot of people struggle with.
We'll be working on what happens when you can't run off.
