[The camera opens right on some quality Riolu toebeans. Which is to say, it's the Riolu who figured out where the record button was, but hasn't got a great grasp of where the camera is. He's picked up back into his trainer's arm's momentarily, a short young-looking woman who is...squinting very much at the pokegear.]
...I have several questions.
[Remy, not one to be left out, yips imperiously. He is here too!! He has important things to say!!!]
Primary among them, I believe, is how much this one should be eating.
[She does turn the camera a bit, to her surroundings--to display the bento someone immediately devoured.]
And, perhaps, where I...might find food myself.
[There's some fumbling, but she is trying to turn the video off...it takes her so long some wild pokemon seem to have shown up out of sheer...concern? Hunger? Here to watch the show? You know maybe that's alarming to see a heracross just loom out behind her before she turns the video off. Ooops.
ooc: if you prefer to find her in person, she is on route 29 and very confused! just mark action and we're good to go!]

Hey, are you okay there?!

[The heracross now has her trail mix. And a flower tucked on it's horn.]
Ah...I'm not quite used to...this situation, so I suppose I'm a bit flustered?
[N...naeva he means the giant beetle as tall as you are? Naeva? MA'AM?]

...He was just concerned about the noise, that's all.
[well, one supposes the pokemon on route 29 see so many trainers they're only really half-wild but, what?]

[Radley is confused, surprised, and relaxes.]
... That's good.... There's a lot who are pretty nasty, though.... They'll just pop out at you wanting to fight.

Vide (I suddenly realized AFTER posting she has similar silvery hair and gold eyes to Sion... XD)
Though as for food, if you're not far yet from the town you awoke in, you may be able to purchase a few basic supplies there. Otherwise, there's usually wild fruits and such that can be found. They may not be much, but it's only a few days to the next town, so they can keep you going until then.
That said, be careful of the large berries the Pokémon eat. They're perfectly fine for the Pokémon, but can be unpleasant for humans.
vid; it is peak aesthetic
[She read the guidebooks but she's not super comfortable with that idea just yet. She just got here, after all. But she is thinking about it, and apparently was quiet too long--Riolu has a lot to say, apparently!]
Remy, be nice.
def a most pretty look!

[Looking down at Riolu. Riolu looks up at her.]
I suppose if he does keep eating that much, he'll need some kind of exercise before he gets rounder.

*fat Pokémon aren't common, but aren't unheard of, either...*
Assuming he'd like to battle, that is.

[Boober is almost smiling - almost - as he starts up his video feed. It's nice to see someone new have their priorities so in order! The teen is answering from inside a Pokemon Center - he's doing a little part-time work while in Cerulean - and occasionally in the background of the shot, a Snubbull can be seen clumsily following some Chansey around.]
Most towns will have at least a small market where you can get some food, and you can find some things to eat too, but be careful with that! Not everything Pokemon can eat is good for people. You can look them up on the Pokegear, though, so don't just risk it.
As for Pokemon diets, I haven't encountered one like yours before, but... Well, some of them eat a lot. The li'l fella I recently hatched has barely stopped eating since he got out of the egg. They do use up a lot of energy if they're battling much at all, though, so you don't have to worry too much about them being unhealthy.
Worrying about keeping up with how much they eat, though, that's definitely an issue.
...Perhaps I should turn back to New Bark Town and stock up first. Though I didn't...see much in the way of a market...

[He was happy to have a chance to be helpful, but...]

[Riolu, having gotten tired of being stuffed in an apron pouch, has begun wriggling to attempt to grab the pokegear. He has Very Important things to say. Yip. YIP!!!!]

[But Riolu's antics are distracting, and Boober shakes his head with a very wry smile.]
Looks like your first partner is an active little guy... I know what that's like. Listen, don't get too scared when they get into fights. I mean, it's always scary, really. But they're usually okay.

Gonna second not to touch the berries unless you like the taste of wax, enjoy unwanted nausea, or messed up fever dreams.
[It's said with a crooked, almost apologetic smile. In the background, a Lucario and Weavile look up from their deck of cards. Seems Riku's just... casually hanging out with gambling Pokemon.
Best to just roll with it.
The Lucario, however, does chime in after a moment... with a very gruff and almost growly voice. Definitely not a human vocal performance, but at least understandable after years of practice.]
Berries are safe for us. Show him and let him forage. It's healthier.
[Annnnd... back to the card game as the Weavile laughs and whispers something that prompts a light bonk on the head.
Riku shakes his head.]
...Anyway, if you wanna save yourself some trouble, you could either swing by the ports at New Bark before you take off, or just take the ferry. It's pricey but it'll give you more time to ease into this place without having to rough it.
video
[She blinks, and even her little Riolu makes a shocked yip. Talking animals aren't necessarily strange, but none of the pokemon she'd seen so far had given any indication they could speak as humans do.]
It's not the foraging that worries me...I grew up doing so. But nutrition is important for those still growing, so I was a bit...concerned.
[She doesn't look like someone who grew up roughing it even a little bit.]
...Hmm. Mushrooms are probably safer than berries, then.
[...she...she doesn't know about Paras. Then again, there aren't any on route 29 so she'll be okay but...she doesn't know.]
video
Avoid junk foods. Fresh ingredients are fine. Meats are fine. Sugar and small Pokémon should not mix.
[And she draws another card. Riku shakes his head and continues.]
Yeah, mushrooms are probably fine. Sometimes people use Big Mushrooms for cooking. Good news is, most towns have restaurants, and you can grab snacks from the Marts. And if you're desperate, the berries are... kinda edible, but the side effects usually aren't worth the hassle.
video
...give Naeva a minute to not drop her pokegear, trying not to laugh.]
I think...it shouldn't be too far to the next town, so I'll have a look around when I get there. You've both been very helpful, thank you.
video
Riku pays it no mind.]
Heh. No problem. Been here... a while, honestly. You spend over a decade here, and stuff like this becomes second nature.
But I know that's not true for newbies, and this place can be a real pain and a half if you don't know what you're doing.
