[The feed opens on Joey and a Bisharp standing in front of a slot machine. Both wear ecstatic expressions as the machine dispenses coin-after-coin, and Joey holds a confused looking Dratini above his head as he cheers. Noise from the other machines and patrons occasionally cuts through the pair's exultation, but the majority of sound pouring through the feed comes from their cheers.]

Yo we did it! We made out like bandits!

[Joey thrusts the Dratini forward for the camera to see.]

Me and Hermos here have been killin' it on da slots, so dis lil' jackpot here marks twelve and a half grand we've managed to carve out! We got ourselves a big ol' chunk'a change and scored dis' heckin' baloon animal-lookin' Pokémon too! There's no stoppin' da wheels on da Joey Train!

[Joey looks at the Dratini again, trying to see a snake instead of a dragon, but then shakes his head.]

I mean, yeah he ain't got no ahms or legs yet, but I still seen plenty'a dragons that look like him. He's just a baby though, so he's gotta grow into 'em.

[It might be easier if you're more used to one than the latter, but maybe that's just her. She can't help a small bit of a shrug, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.]

If you say so~ [That might still be teasing him about it, but at least it's all in fun, mostly.] It's quite interesting how some of these creatures look compared to what you're familiar with, isn't it? I would think I'm familiar enough with dragons and yet I never would have guessed that little one to be one, or I suppose King isn't much of a typical dragon, either...

That's puttin' it lightly! I'm used to some crazy crittahs thanks'ta playin' Duel Monstahs, but some of dese' guys are wack. Der's livin' ice cream, friggin teacups, and a trashbag!

[Joey shakes his head in exasperation.]

Der were some genuinely cracked monstahs dont' get me wrong, dat's lookin' at you Hungry Burgah, but seein' dem out and about and havin' to deal with da fact that dey're just... there... is on a whole other level.

[Duel Monst...ers? You know what, she's not even going to question it. But living ice cream, teacups, trashbag... Are they sure they aren't dead and this is some sick kind of afterlife? Because it's starting to look like it.

She hums as she contemplates all of this before slowly shrugging.]

I suppose it could be worse, they could be actively trying to be aggressive towards us. [That is not helpful, Kisara.]

I'd say I'm rather happy to not be attacked by someone's spirit again, but maaaaybe that's just me.

If you go out into da tall grass dey staht getting real anstsy. If you're not ready ta throw-down I would steer clear ah dose' kinds'a areas. Granted, dey ain't exactly tough, but if you're not lookin' to be fightin' somethin' every twenty feet den I'd be careful where and how ya travel.

[Joey gives a thumbs-up.]

If you gotta travel you could always go in a group or somethin', and da' warp pads mean you can always get back ta places you've been before without havin' to go through all da work of walkin' again.

I've unfortunately noticed, Sadiki was... very keen on pulling me out of the grass after the third problem showed up. [Her poor absol already is doing The Most and is already entirely exhausted. It'd probably fine, she learned.]

Warp pads...? [What does that word combination even mean? She can guess from the context, but it still makes zero sense!] I wouldn't want to burden anyone by slowing everyone down, it's better if I stay on my own and with my... Pokemon, they were called? [Look. Bad things happen around her, this is safe.]

I mean, I've set a pretty crazy pace blowin' through here, but that's just cuz' I'm on a mission. I'm sure there's all kinds'a folks going from place ta' place without goin' at a breakneck pace doe, so you shouldn't have too much trouble findin' someone to travel with if you wanna avoid battles.

[Joey thinks a second.]

You know where you're at right now? Dependin' on where you're at der' might even be ways to get to otha cities without having to walk. Some places got boats, some got trains, and Goldenrod where I'm at's got a nifty bicycle shop.

I don't know if Sadiki wants to entirely avoid battles, but they certainly aren't something I'm fond of...

[She trails off for a second to fumble around for the map, give her a little bit to figure out where exactly she even is. Also what's a bike????]

I... think it's called route thirty-one? It's been a while since we've been in a town so far. Also, ah, forgive me but what's a train and a bicycle...? [She's from ancient Egypt, there's only So Much she can know.]

[Oh man. Describing things in laymen's terms isn't Joey's strong suite, but something like a bike and a train should be simple enough.]

A train? I guess it's like a big metal snake dat ya ride on, and a bike's like a horse but powahd by ya feet. Regahdless of how you go out, ya bettah make sure you're well prepared for da cold. It's a bitter time'a year right now, and with as much time as I've been spendin' out in it I can tell ya firsthand that you do not wanna get stuck in da cold without warm clothes and good supplies for campin'!

[She's from the past, she does not know things. But the effort is greatly appreciated.]

... A metal snake. [You know what, that's fine, she can kind of weirdly picture that. At bikes, however, she nods quietly. That makes perfect sense to her. Because why not, that seems like something that should have been a thing in the first place!]

Oh, believe me, I have already noticed and I'm working on fixing that. I... might end up finding a place to settle until it gets warmer because, ah, this is very much different from the weather I am used to. [She's going to lose her absolute mind at snow, but the cold already sucks and thanks she hates it where did the sun go???]

Looks like you're not far from Violet City, so if you're able to get there da Pokémon Center should have food and a wahm place to crash until you can get yahself squared-away.

[Joey points up at himself.]

Dat's pretty much what I've been doin' since I came in here, but I finally got enough cash to be able ta crash in a hotel now so dat's a win. I'm way far away from where you're at doe, so I'm afraid I can't do much for ya right now... sorry.

[Pokemon Center. Oh, he must mean those red and white buildings that people were pointing out to her the first time, that would make sense. Now that she should have some sort of fire Pokemon to work with, she can probably make it to somewhere to find a mostly permanent place.]

I should have realized that's one of the things those were for, people kept pointing them out to me and they do seem rather important outside of just the taking care of these creatures part. [Hahaha. We just. Won't. Talk about the panic from the first time Sadiki couldn't keep going. It's fine, she's fine, she has more of a team now and understands a little better how this all works.]

Oh! There's no need for that anyway, evidently these... fire elemental creatures are really useful for this weather and Seto wouldn't really take no for an answer. Nor would Sadiki let me keep fighting it.

Seto...

[Joey gets super close to the camera and just stares for a moment. After a second a look of utter surprise appears on his face.]

Wait a minute! You're dat lady we saw Priest Seto save in Atem's memories!

[He points at the camera.]

How in da heck did you end up gettin' pulled inta' dis place?!

[Too close. She actually backs up a bit, brow furrowed as she still keeps her attention on the camera.]

How does ever- wait, why was I, of all people, in his memories?

[This is clearly the more important question here, Joey!!! Except not really, it's all just ridiculous.] Your guess is as good as mine. I remember where I was but not the in-between of there and here.

I...I dunno. Last I knew you got taken to da Palace by Priest Seto, but den pretty much da end'a da world happened so I dunno what happened to ya aftah dat.

[Joey shrugs in an apologetic way.]

If ya ended up here I'm guessin' stuff turned out okay for ya doe' so dat's good at least.

[... Ah, that would make sense as to why his memories wouldn't have anything further than that. He wasn't there, after all, and she's not certain if that story would have even been told.]

Oh, I'm well aware of what happened to me after all of that. [She could have been vague about all of it, but she's pretty certain that it's probably better to tell the truth so he doesn't... keep thinking that.]

Mmm, you could say that. But I meant between the world of dead and the living as to why I'm not quite sure how I ended up here, breathing again. But everything did turn out in the way it was meant to, so I cannot be mad about it. [Evidently things continued on while she ended up where she did and continued even through reincarnation, so there's solace in that fact.]

[[My apologies for the delay in tags. I've been working to get the Journal Pages for Lucius and Joey actually presentable and that's been far more demanding than I expected. For Lucius at least, the end is in sight though so his Journal is finally looking good.]]

Well... I ain't no expert on stuff like dis ah'course but da worl'a memories we visited was a livin', breathin' place where da folks responded to da things that happened just as if dey' was in da real world.

[He rubs his chin with his hand as he talks, clearly thinking hard on what he's saying.]

If all'a da people here could be pulled outta der worlds and brought here, den who's ta say dat you couldn't get grabbed outta dat place too? I seen weirda stuff happen fa' sure, so maybe dat's it.

(No worries at all, I'm usually not a fast tagger so I hadn't even noticed the time, haha.)

Interacted as if they were living and breathing... [That's... really weird, because she's certain she would have remembered something like that. But it could just have been something that she just thought was her normal memories. She's certain that she was more of a side story to everything if things were directly related to the pharaoh, at the very least. But it's certainly interesting to think about.]

It could be possible. But I just... feel as if something is off, with myself. As if I can't access a part of it. [She can guess as to what it is, she's almost certain she knows what it is. But given the things she's heard about this place, it would make sense that something potentially that dangerous would be locked down entirely.] But, ah, thank you for the information! I... have a lot more to think about than I previously did when it comes to this place, that is absolutely certain.

Der's actually a bunch'a people from all throughout time in dis' place, so you might be able to find someone from closah to where you're from. I know der's people from da otha' end of things too doe, so all kinds'a future stuff is floatin' around.

[Joey's pretty fast to bounce back from things, but the idea of having to get used thousands of years worth of technological development overnight is still daunting. Being able to be around other folks from ancient times would be a big relief if he was in those shoes, so it only makes sense that could be nice for her too.]

Considerin' der's everythin' from airplanes ta wahp pads in here you probably wanna be someplace like Ecruteak or Cherrygrove. Botha does places ah way more old-school den burgs like Goldenrod, so does would be good places for ya ta hit.
