[The feed opens on Joey and a Bisharp standing in front of a slot machine. Both wear ecstatic expressions as the machine dispenses coin-after-coin, and Joey holds a confused looking Dratini above his head as he cheers. Noise from the other machines and patrons occasionally cuts through the pair's exultation, but the majority of sound pouring through the feed comes from their cheers.]

Yo we did it! We made out like bandits!

[Joey thrusts the Dratini forward for the camera to see.]

Me and Hermos here have been killin' it on da slots, so dis lil' jackpot here marks twelve and a half grand we've managed to carve out! We got ourselves a big ol' chunk'a change and scored dis' heckin' baloon animal-lookin' Pokémon too! There's no stoppin' da wheels on da Joey Train!

Hmm. Well, I have to admit that makes sense.

From da forecast it looks like I'll be able to ride my bike most'a da way to Mahogany, but dem Ice Caves are gonna be a pain in da butt. Looks like da weatha's gonna be pretty doggone warm for da first week doe, so dat's gonna be really nice. Should be back well in time for da holidays doe, so it'll be cool ta kick-it for a week or two.

[Joey gives a smile.]

I got a couple'a restaurants I wanna hit up while I'm on vacation, so-ta-speak, and da cash I nabbed while I was at da Game Cornah is gonna be nice for treatin' myself! You gonna be anywhere near Goldenrod for da holidays? Maybe we could kick it!

That's good you have a bike. I was definitely relieved to get one.

I live in Goldenrod, so yes. We definitely should!

Lookin' at da map it seems Kanto is way more bike friendly den Johto's been, so I'm lookin' forwahd to puttin' dat sucka' through it's paces come da new year. Gonna be cruisin through dem towns!

[Joey makes a wooshing noise as he moves his hand to mime a miniature him racing at high-speeds.]

Short'a da weatha kickin' my butt, I should be able to hit just about every place in Kanto in just unda two months! Den it's gonna be hittin' da trainin to get all da boys ready for takin' on da bosses.

[He chuckles.]

You really have it all planned out!

I'm no good at plannin' stuff like dis normally, so I'm tryin' ta do bettah and actually look ahead on all'a dis.

[He sighs.]

With things cold as they're lookin' ta be, too, I really can't be playin it fast n' loose when it comes ta travellin. One bad move and I'm stuck out in da freezin' cold with no town for days. I like gamblin' an' all, but I don't wanna be rollin' da dice on somethin' like dat.

It sounds like you definitely are.

[He nods.]

Oh yes, I very much agree. That is not something to mess with.

Dat's one'a da things I'm really lookin' forward to come da spring. I should have all da places knocked-out by den, so when I staht hittin' da gyms it won't be hoofin' it town-ta-town.

[A relaxed look spreads across Joey's face as he describes it, and he leans back with his arms folded behind his head as he continues.]

It'll be nice weathah, I can just pop right ta where I need ta go, and I can actually enjoy myself when I'm in each'a da different gym towns. Gonna be all kinds'a different from the icy dash dat findin' da places has been.

That will be pleasant. Say, did you go through that forest in between Azalea and Goldenrod?

[He wonders what it's like.]

I did! Dat thing was big too!

[He spreads his arms wide as he states it as if to emphasize the scale of what he's describing.]

I ended up goin' in right before dis big snowstorm as it turned out, but da canopy was so thick I didn't even know it'd snowed until aftah I came out da otha side.

... Wow. So it never snows in there? I wonder how rain gets in.

Well at least not dat I saw, but den again snow's pretty thick so dat might be it.

[He ponders for a minute, trying to think of how a big forest would work if it couldn't get water.]

Wait, da watah would just run down and den da roots would get it. Da snow should do dat when it melts too, so dat must be how such a big friggin' forest stays ok.

Yeah, that makes sense. Maybe I'll check the place out sometime. I wasn't crazy about traveling through a forest for days on end, so I went around the other way to get to Goldenrod.

I'm not da biggest on natchah or any'a dat, but it was definitely cool lookin' ta go through. Looked like somethin' outta an anime. Knowin' it stopped me from gettin' swamped in snow makes me mind it a lot less ta slog through, but boy am I ready ta not be hoofin' it all ovah da place nonstop.

[Joey shakes his exhaustedly.]

If you decide you wanna slog through der' den just make sure you're in for da same kinda hike.

[Radley smirks.]

I'm never sure I am. Maybe I'd just go in a short distance and then come back out. I like looking at nature, but not being in it so much.

Boy do I feel dat. Doubly so when it's as crappy outside as it's been. Come da spring I could go for some campin', but as it is now I just wanna be somewhere wahm with a cuppa hot chocolate.

[Joey sighs.]

Doesn't look like I'm gonna get'ta do much'a dat doe', startin' with explorin' Kanto after Christmas. Still, at least it means I'll get ta kick back come da summah though.

That sounds delicious.

["Vee!" says Evie.]

Well, I'm sure you'll have to rest if snowstorms come through, so you might still get that hot chocolate.
