01 - Deep Space Pokemon Action!
a. Somewhere on Route 29
[Well, after the... thrilling start that Vash had back in New Bark Town, he finds that he's ready for a bit of normalcy. Sure, the trees are a little out of the ordinary considering where he's spent most of his life, but being on the road and constantly moving? That's normal enough. Getting attacked by weird creatures? Also pretty normal! Proceeding to run from said creatures? Yeah, you get the idea.
But while Vash may be used to running away instead of fighting, his companion isn't. She knows the rules of this world, and before Vash can get too far, she's already knocked out the poor Spearow that was pursuing them.
Which is why you might come across Vash, seated up against a tree, calmly lecturing the little creature.]
Now I know you were just trying to be a good friend, but you can't go around attacking creatures like that. He was just defending his territory — nothing wrong with that.
[Sure, the Pokemon are only unconscious and will recover well enough. And yes, he's done the same in the name of self-defense. But after a century of doing his best to stay his hand, it still feels uncomfortable to lift it once more, even if these creatures don't necessarily fall within the bounds of his promise.]
b. Cherrygrove City
[Somehow, the duo manages to make their way to Cherrygrove without much issue. Yes, a few more creatures get knocked out along the way, but at least they seem to have come to an understanding about it. Which is why Vash is more than happy to reward the little Mimikyu when they finally reach civilization.]
It hardly seems fair for you to be walking around with a rag on. [Vash clutches a small tube of fabric, red not unlike his own jacket. It's safety pinned in the back to make a pseudo dress.] Now, why don't we get that peeled off and put you into something nice?
[And that is precisely when Vash reaches down to pull the Mimikyu's rag up. Will you help him? Or are you about to watch a man suffer?]
c. Network (video)
[One way or another, Vash does somehow manage to survive his encounter with the Mimikyu's true visage! Still, it's left him feeling a bit... curious. He fixes his camera on the Mimikyu as she toddles around, speaking from behind it.]
Are all of these creatures so... quirky? Mine doesn't really like to be seen without her, uh... clothes, I guess? Do they all have little traits like that, or is mine just special?

Mimikyu as a species don't like to be viewed without their costume, and will usually defend it fiercely. Many of the species on this planet have similar "quirks."
[Her own loves to cosplay as a Togedemaru. And might or might not have only shown his owner his true form once or twice, and only because Altea probably had way more terrifying wildlife. (Space. Australia.]

Yeahhh, I think I figured that much out. [He scratches at the back of his head with a bright laugh.] I feel bad for the poor thing, if I'm honest. I must have upset her pretty bad.
no subject
[A light nod. Yup, sounds about right. At least she had experience living with Shiro's Mimikyu Spookycheeks first to know not to push Plattran too hard.]
Most likely; my Plattran took a great deal of time and trust to show his true form to me, and even that is a great rarity. Most Pokemon tend to be at least a little motivated by food, if that helps. [For peace offerings.] I take it you are new to this world?

You're not from around either either, then? [He isn't sure if that's comforting or not. Nice to know he isn't alone, perhaps, but a bit unnerving all the same. Whatever entity managed to summon the power to drag souls from across the cosmos was surely a force to be reckoned with.]
We can call that my first question, if you'd like.
appears
[He figures he should be honest about that up front.]
Even so, the majority of people I've met in this world who were from somewhere else have been very kind and helpful. You'll have no shortage of proffered hands, should you need them.
POINTS
I think I would know by now. They would have tracked me down and scolded me for getting them caught up in another mess.
[Said affectionately, of course.]
It's good to know there's plenty of helping hands waiting to be extended. It... makes it all feel a little less lonely!

Well, Tumble here doesn't like sitting still. Ever. He's always on the move. The only time he stops is when he sleeps.
But my friend's got a pokemon like yours. They all wear clothes like that. I think they say that if you catch a glimpse of what is underneath their outfit, you'll die. We've got no one with Revivify here so I haven't tested that though. Could be just a hoax.
[Yeah, yeah, you are supposed to revive upon dying here, but Riz is not trusting his life to whatever thing is in control of this world, especially not when they've also kidnapped them here. If this was his own world though, and Kristen was there? Yeah, he'd absolutely be checking the veracity of that rumour.]
no subject
Hah, well... I guess I can relate to that! Excellent taste in hobbies, little dude. [And then he promptly stops talking. Perhaps even goes a bit pale.]
Ehhehe... sounds like a legend to me. Definitely a fantasy, right? Besides, I didn't even see anything! She thwacked me before I could!
[He is definitely shooting nervous glances over his shoulder.]

Nobody in this world has any common sense.

Did you try to unmask your Mimikyu?
[How is he still standing?! Radley has certainly heard the horror stories.]
Most Pokemon are pretty quirky, but some just wanna play.
[Several adorable Eevees start warbling in the background, and a couple peek up into the screen.]
no subject
[He sounds increasingly nervous, the longer he talks.]
no subject
I get that. It was nice of you, but you're probably lucky to be okay. If the stories are true, that is.

There is a woman in the background, mind you - working on helping with some kind of repairs after. The Worms. ]

His Mimikyu, on the other hand, jumps up onto his lap and presses her face — the actual face, not the pseudo one — up to the camera! She lets out a few soft chirps of a greeting, and also an apology for her trainer. He needs some teaching, but he's got the spirit, she promises.]
Do you all run in different colors? [Wait, no. There's no way that makes sense.] Or did you find a different colored rag? Yeah, that makes more sense!
[The discouraged chirp from his Mimikyu says all it needs to.]
no subject
But the sounds of amusement seem to summon Minfilia - she rushes on screen from her work efforts, looking a little apologetic. ] I didn't know Mammet knew how--
Oh! Another Mimikyu and their trainer - I don't see too many people adopting Mimikyu. [ She's not certain he's a new trainer yet, but is putting the signs together. Mostly the nostalgic music of Cherrygrove - she still didn't quite understand how it was nostalgic, for it had only been a bit over a year since her journey began... ]

Not that a two-headed creature coming out and doing... that is much better. Still, recognition flashes in his eyes.]
They're like flora, not plants! [He says aloud, then looks sheepishly at Mando.] I mean, ah... She's cute?
[Is she? Honestly, he's a little intimidated by her.]
no subject
[Flora, plant, grass... they're basically all the same word to Mando.]
[Spicy, however, does not take kindly to being called cute. She glares at Vash before stomping up and kicking him in the ankle. Ball, following orders, duly squirts her, and then it's a sudden, inescapable Pokemon brawl.]
Dammit.
[D E E P sigh, and Mando gets both Ball and Spicy back in their Pokeballs before they can do any more damage to each other or the surrounding area. Mimikando, on merit of behaving herself, is spared.]
Hopefully you won't get one with that much attitude for awhile.
no subject
In any case, when he finally settles his hopping, and after the Pokemon break into a fight, he finds it in himself to look guilty. Not for being absolutely insufferable, though.]
It's not her fault. I must have riled her up too bad. It's all on me.

Hang on tight little buddy!
[And for seemingly no apparent reason... Vash immediately leaps behind a building. A garbage can goes skittering off with a loud clatter, a stray Rattata flees from its current meal, and a hungry Bidoof looks on helplessly as Vash roots around until he's fully hidden from sight.
Mostly fully hidden. Some blond spikes might be sticking up here and there.]
this isn't late ur late
[Okay, sure, that just happened.]
[G'rhyf stops in their tracks to stare at the entrance to the alleyway for a few moments, debating if they should go poking in or--oh who are they kidding, of course they're going to.]
[With a sigh and swift steps, G'rhyf heads over to the pile of garbage in question and shoves their hand in. Grabbing onto the first bit of person they find, they haul the odd blonde man up and consider him with a quizzical raised eyebrow.] What was that about, exactly?
i don't know what you're talking about! totally on time!
I promise it wasn't me. I mean it kinda was but - uh...
[It takes him a second to realize that it's not a Jenny that he's face to face with. Instead, he stares at G'rhyf, momentarily perplexed, before managing to flash a smile.]
I mean. Hi there! How can I help you?
[The poor Mimikyu on his shoulder just... sighs.]
quiet wheezing,,
c (video)
[He rubs the back of his neck with a metal hand. Perched on his shoulder is a parrot-like Pokémon--a Chatot.]
Trent Reznor likes to make a lot of noise. Like, all the time. But I feel like that's just a parrot thing?
no subject
[This is, of course, said with the tone of someone who absolutely does not know what Chai is talking about. He does, however, spot the metal hand.]
Oh, hey! We match!
[Finally, something that makes him feel normal. Vash shows off his own prosthetic limb. He opens and closes a fist, hoping that the cracks spiderwebbing across the surface don't show in the camera.]

Thanks for the help, really! I'm sure you all get real tired of hearing the "I'm new in town bit but..."
