Oh well. At least there's one very familiar face up ahead.]
Ferid!
[Cue more chirping from the icicles as he speeds up to catch up with Ferid.]
no subject
... Well.
The icicles are... adorable, the chirping just as, but oh there isn't a single god that looks at Ferid and gives him mercy.]
I suppose I've done a lot to deserve this, [an idle musing mostly to his cat, before he wonders if it's too late to say "Sorry, do I know you?" and... it most certainly is, at this point.
All Ferid can do is accept this is something that is really happening and ponder on the great number of feelings he's experiencing right now. Wow.]
Isaac. [Even-toned and more of an acknowledgement than anything, to stay in control.] It's... wonderful to see you again.
[... Maybe.]
no subject
...Anyway the icicles catch up and greet Ferid cheerfully which sort of reminds Isaac that he actually has to come up with a response instead of just. staring.]
It really is. Wonderful to see you again, I mean. Though uh, I guess it's been longer for you.
[...smooth.]
no subject
[... Now who's being difficult.
He glances away, hesitance crossing his face, but when he looks back he seems a little resigned; a few slow steps forward brings him close enough to Isaac and Ferid takes one of his hands, sighing as he presses it to his cheek. That's nice. That's familiar.]
You're trouble, Isaac, leaving me with such a curse~! I almost wish I could hate you. [But he can't.] And now I don't know how I should feel with you standing right before me again. As Aligula would say, you're a dumb-dumb meanieface.
no subject
He doesn't need Ferid to hold his hand in place, he'll relax after a moment and he'll smile again.]
I really am sorry I've caused you so much trouble, but I can't say I regret it at all. I really am happy to see you again and... well, even if you don't know how you feel about seeing me again and all of this, at least we've got some time to figure it out.
[He has no idea how long, but some time is much better than none.]
no subject
[Ferid'll let go once he's sure Isaac'll stay, though his hand lingers at Isaac's wrist for a lack of a better place to be, and... he does just kind of take the other in, from that objectively two face of his to everything else.
... It's so, so nice to see Isaac again, he's still not sure how to react. But he should probably say something instead of just staring.]
Regret isn't appropriate, is it?
no subject
That makes it sound like there's an ideal way to do this, and I'm pretty sure there isn't.
[It's light though, bordering on teasing, as if he could ever pull that off properly and intentionally. He doesn't mind the staring though, because that's what he always does anyway and it is nice to just look at Ferid again, even if it feels like it's only been five minutes since they said goodbye.
(And he's thankful for that, really. He can't imagine what it's felt like for Ferid.)]
...What do you regret, exactly?
no subject
[........ That probably shouldn't have been so immediate, but it's also very fond and a little quieter. Kitligula isn't bored of this New and Love-Dovey development, but she is also going to hop onto Isaac's head. This is taller. She is taller. Please continue to distract the mountain, Ferid.
He gives her a bit of an amused smile before looking away again, leaning more into the hand on his cheek.]
Reading your letters in the first place. And then not learning my lesson and rereading them, I suppose, as I found them. [Regret's a good word.] It's an unusual thing for myself especially to feel, and yet I'm not surprised considering the source. You have that kind of effect on me, after all.
no subject
...Well, I can't say I'm sorry for that effect, because I really am glad that I've managed it. But uh, I am sorry that it's caused you pain. Or at least regret. Regret's one of the worst feelings in the world.
[He still has plenty of that! Letting go of it is really hard.]
So... I'm sorry about that part, at least. But I'm pleased that you held onto the letters.
no subject
What else would I have done with them?
[Like really. There was no other thought in his mind but to keep them? He's terrible at letting things go, too.]
no subject
Put them away, maybe? I didn't really think too much about it. I guess it was kinda cruel to leave you with those, in hindsight...
[GOOD JOB ISAAC YOU JUST NOW REALIZED IT]
no subject
[YES, IT WAS CRUEL. VERY CRUEL. Ferid has done some cruel things before but that was pure cruelty.]
no subject
[. . .]
You know what I mean, right?
[HE IS SO BAD AT THIS]
no subject
I love you too, Isaac, even if I'm certain that our parting is fresher in your mind than it is mine and so you may still be unsure of how hard you've fallen for me. I'll only tell you this, but... those letters are a nice reminder that I was human once, and that life wasn't always in such dull colors. I used to appreciate things much more when I hadn't lived for thousands of years.
[But the sky's as thoughtlessly pretty as it always was, a constant sight that doesn't strike a bit of feeling into him anymore; Isaac's letters jumpstart something in him and while they're not always happy feelings, they're something all the same. He's working through this again.]
no subject
Yeah. That's... That's what I wanted, really. Being able to do that for you is... it's really incredible. It's the sort of impact I never expected to have on anyone, and being able to do that for you is... it's really something else.
[It's not like Ferid's going to experience things like he used to. But he can experience more now and that's really good.]
no subject
[It sucks!!! And not even in like, an exciting way. Just in a "drinks cannot cure me" way.]
Are you going to leave me with more letters while we're here, or am I escaping your wrath?
no subject
I don't know yet. Probably. I feel like I can get my thoughts across a bit better when I don't have to say them.
[talking is Difficult]
...But I'm sorry about that. I never wanted to hurt you, you know.
no subject
I know. It's an unfortunate side-effect, that's all. Now, since we're well acquainted with our respective mistakes, do you mind telling me why there are a number of small icicles following you?
no subject
[Judging from all the chirping they're doing that is exactly the correct response.]
Don't. Don't say anything.
[LISTEN. HE KNOWS. HE IS FULLY AWARE OF HOW STUPID THIS IS.]
no subject
[DID YOU MISS HIM]
no subject
Why are you like this.
[JUST LET HIM BURY HIS FACE IN HIS HANDS AND SLOWLY DIE OF EMBARRASSMENT]
no subject
[HE MISSED THIS]
no subject
Oh come on! You're just trying to humiliate me!
[Two more chirps!!]
no subject
[Kitligula gets to stay up there, because Ferid is kneeling down to invite the little things onto his arms. They can't be that heavy, right??]
My name is Ferid, and I'm your future son-in-law~! Do take good care of my hopeless love here, won't you? Though you'll be seeing a lot of me around now anyway~.
no subject
[The icicles immediately come in for hugs!! EXCEPT THEY WEIGHT THREE HUNDRED POUNDS APIECE FERID I AM SO SORRY]
You're also doing a great job at embarrassing me.
[At least Kitligula is sparing him. At least there's that.]
