save our snorunts event log
Who: Everyone!
When: January 2-26
Where: Practically everywhere. Maybe not the volcano on Cinnabar Island.
What: Save those Snorunts!
OOC Info: here!
The hills are alive with the sound of… sneezing?
It’s almost a week into January, and trainers may have started to get nervous about the lack of Snorunts. Whether you’re excited to see them, or just want the metaphorical bomb to drop and be over with - the wait is finally done. Snorunts have started to make their way into town.
But instead of fortunes, what they have to give right now is coughs, bleary eyes, and sad little flops sideways into the snow. They’re not alone, either: every once in a while you’ll see an equally sick Glalie or Froslass. (Be careful - a sneezing Glalie is basically a wrecking ball waiting to happen, prone to launching itself backward! And if you’ve been struck by an odd spurt of bad luck, maybe you’ll be right in the way when it does…)
In cities across Johto and Kanto, and in field camps in between, Nurse Joys are scrambling to treat the miserable Ice Pokemon. But they’re direly in need of more helping hands. Will you pitch in?

So it was Primdes that came upon Keith and the Glalie moments before Ulaz, turning back and calling to him, but stay away from Glalie... just in case.
"Of course. Let's see if we can carry him to the Pokemon Center."
no subject
"Thanks," he said. He stood to one side, bracing himself to lift as he waited for Ulaz to get into position.
"It's a heavy one, so be careful."
no subject
"He does seem to be quite large," Ulaz agreed as got into position. "Alright, on three. One, two, three."
no subject
"Glaaay..."
How did a Pokémon that didn't even seem to have a nose end up with an illness that would make it sneeze and sound slightly congested with it made noise?
Keith waited as Ulaz counted them down and then he lifted.
It was still heavy.
"Good thing we're not far from town," he said in a tight voice, straining a little. He shifted it a bit so that the horn rested on his shoulder in the hopes that might help with the weight a little. He also hoped that it wasn't going to sneeze again until they got there.
no subject
Ulaz wondered as well. How were they sneezing with no nose? That was probably something that he didn't understand about their anatomy. Still seemed very odd.
"Yes, good thing. I didn't realize they were as heavy as they were with how easily they levitate."
He's definitely hoping it doesn't sneeze because then it will either hit them or launch itself away.
no subject
Because it was starting to sniffle...
"Uh... mm... Is it...?" Keith sounded nervous.
no subject
Ulaz raised an eyebrow as he heard the Glalie sniffling.
"I certainly hope not." But he was going to try and brace himself just in case.
no subject
It was a strong sneeze for sure, but, since they'd been prepared, Keith and Ulaz were only pushed back a little bit, sliding along the ground, but staying upright. This was followed by some coughing, which shook the Glalie in their arms, but then it finally stopped.
Keith took a deep breath.
"Bless you..." he said.
no subject
At least it wasn't being pushed too far.
"Yes, bless you." Ulaz glanced at Keith. "Hopefully there won't be much sneezing."
Famous last words maybe.
no subject
"Yeah... not much further to go, though, I think..." Which was a relief, really. Left less chances for more sneezes.
no subject
"I think so as well. I believe I can see the Pokemon Center."
no subject
"Means not much further than," he said quietly. "Good. This guy's getting heavier..."
It sniffled a few more times, and Keith braced himself just in case, but the sneeze didn't come... this time.
no subject
"Yes, it feels like he is. Either he's getting tired. Or we are. Or both."
The sniffling made him nervous. If they were both getting tired, another sneeze was going to be harder to withstand.
no subject
Thankfully, they made it without further incident. The Glalie was quickly taken and ushered off to triage and treatment.
Keith straightened up, stretching his arms over his head, and then pushed his hands against his back, arching slightly to stretch that, too. He groaned a bit as he did it, relieving the growing ache and strain from their efforts.
no subject
Oh good, they made it. As the Glalie was taken back to be treated, Ulaz stretched as well.
"Have been assisting with many retrievals?"
no subject
"Yeah. Of course, this was the one time I find a 'huge' Glalie." He did manage a rather wry chuckle. "I think it's time for a break, though. If I find another big one like that, I don't think I can do that trip again right now."

Ulaz's Glaceon was dancing around now that they weren't actively looking for Snorunts or their evolutions.

At the comment of going inside, Ulaz's Glaceon was leading the way. This way to food!

Primdes did stop and wait for the trainers and Little Red, making the Glaceon trilling sound as though to hurry them up. Not that he had done much... but he was hungry.
no subject
Not that it seemed to matter to the two hungry Pokémon, but Keith was tired! Neither of the Pokémon had done much in this situation... the two 'humans' had done it all. But, they were sure impatient to be fed!
Keith frowned at them both as he trudged to keep up. Thankfully, it wasn't far to get food.
no subject
Ulaz was tired as well. It wasn't like his Glaceon had done much carrying of Pokemon.
"Seems they have their own priorities."
no subject
Keith shrugged a bit.
Because they were all set up for the triage and work being done in the area, there was a large, all-weather, all-purpose tent, similar to something used as a commissary tent by the military, set up for supplying all the volunteers with food in thanks for their help. Keith pushed through the door and noted the crowd.
There were a lot of people helping. He took a deep breath, remembering how much he'd hated eating at the Garrison's cafeteria for this same reason, but resigned himself to it. It was too cold to eat outside, and he didn't have a hotel or anything to go back to at this exact moment.
Little Red was quite happy to escort everyone towards the food service at the other end, though. He made a few noises and bounced in that direction, looking back a few times to make sure everyone was following.
no subject
However, he pushed that down. There was no such threat here. It was just normal since it had been burned into him. The main issue he had now was that he was tall, even as a human, and it made him stand out more.
Primdes followed after Little Red, clearly unconcerned that Primdes was an ice Pokemon and Little Red was a fire type.
"Yes, yes, we are coming."
